Simplifying the Switch to eSIM

The eSIM, or embedded SIM, offers mobile users a seamless experience by eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. This digital alternative allows for easy activation, management, transfer, and security of mobile services.

Lloyd R. Manaloto, Head of Prepaid at Smart, explains, “Now, Smart Prepaid subscribers can upgrade to an eSIM for only Php99 by presenting their physical SIM and a valid government ID at the nearest Smart Store.”

Free Conversion for Non-Smart Subscribers

Non-Smart subscribers can also make the upgrade to eSIM at no cost. They simply need to obtain their Unique Subscriber Code from their current network provider and submit the required documents, including a valid government ID and a signed application form, at the nearest Smart Store.

Shing N. Dimagiba, Head of Postpaid at Smart, highlights the significance of this service, stating, “This groundbreaking offering for prepaid customers builds upon Smart’s existing capability to facilitate fast and convenient eSIM upgrades for postpaid subscribers.”

Accessibility for All Mobile Users

With this initiative, Smart aims to make eSIM technology accessible to all Filipinos, irrespective of their current network provider. By retaining their existing numbers, subscribers can avoid the inconvenience of updating contacts and accounts associated with a new number.

Jerome Y. Almirante, Head of Innovations and Digital Services at Smart, emphasizes the convenience of the new service, stating, “We’re making it easier for subscribers of all networks to enjoy the benefits of eSIM technology and access our innovative offers.”

Unlocking the Benefits of eSIM

The Smart Prepaid eSIM is compatible with eSIM-capable devices from leading manufacturers such as Apple, Google, Huawei, and Samsung. Users can enjoy Smart’s prepaid offers, including Power All, All Data, and Magic Data, tailored to suit various online lifestyles.
