917Ventures and Gogoro Inc., a global tech leader and provider of battery-swapping technology in mobilities for cities, has announced that they’ll be bringing Gogoro’s electric two-wheelers in the Metro Manila by Q4 2023.
This move marks a milestone towards a significant step towards sustainable transportation in the country.
Gogoro has revolutionized two-wheel mobility in Taiwan and has expanded its network to China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, and Israel. The company aims to tackle commuter concerns over costly gasoline prices and carbon emissions, aligning with the Philippine government’s sustainable development goals and partners’ shared commitment to sustainability.
Gogoro’s success in Taiwan includes over 540,000 riders, more than 1 million smart batteries, and 12,000 battery-swapping stations. Gogoro riders have completed over 450 million total battery swaps, saving more than 627,000 tons of CO2 since the company’s inception.
