Samsung is prepping up for its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026 at London. We are expecting new hardware led by the redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series, the Z Flip 8, and the next-generation Galaxy Watch 9.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8: A New Passport Design
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to show off a major shift to a wider passport-style aspect ratio. It features a squarer screen layout when folded, making it feel much like a blackberry sized phone when folded but a normal tablet size when unfolded.
We are expecting a wider display when unfolded running at 120Hz refresh rates along with the cover display. Under the hood, the Z Fold 8 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM.
For cameras, we expect that it will sport a dual 50MP wide and ultrawide setup. To combat screen crease, Samsung is reportedly introducing a better technology.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: Taller Screen and 200MP Camera
For those who prefer the traditional, taller aspect ratio, Samsung will also introduce the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This version maintains the classic design but bumps the specs to a better one.
The Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to feature a larger 8-inch folding screen. The highlight of the Ultra is its camera setup. It will carry a massive 200MP main camera, alongside a 50MP ultrawide and a 10MP 3x optical zoom telephoto lens.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8: Refined Compact Power and Bigger Battery
Samsung’s popular flip phone is also getting some updates, particularly in the battery and charging departments. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to feature an upgraded 4,300mAh battery.
The device is built to be 8 grams lighter than its predecessor. It will feature a 50MP primary camera and a 12.5MP ultrawide camera.
Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2: Qualcomm Power and AI Health
On the wearable front, Samsung is making a huge transition by moving away from Exynos to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor.
For rugged use, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is rumored to feature a titanium chassis, a massive 800mAh battery, and a 5,000-nit screen.
Expected Canadian Pricing and Availability
While official prices will be confirmed on stage, we expect the Galaxy Z Fold 8 to start at around $2,599 CAD, with the premium Z Fold 8 Ultra starting closer to $2,899 CAD. The compact Z Flip 8 is expected to start at around $1,599 CAD.
Pre-orders are expected to open immediately following the event for Canadians on Samsung.com/ca, at Samsung Experience Stores, and through major carriers including Rogers, Bell, and Telus.
