Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone Poster Leaks, Reveals ROG-like Accessories

2

It’s no secret that Lenovo is whipping up its own gaming phone under the Legion gaming sub-brand. Qualcomm’s announcement of its latest Snapdragon 865 flagship processor also revealed the first few phones that’ll ship with the new powerhouse. The Legion Gaming Phone is one of the first phones to sport a Snapdragon 865 alongside the Blackshark 3, Red Magic 5G, and ROG Phone III. Not only that, but Lenovo is also the first to have a concrete leak about its upcoming SD 865 gaming smartphone.

Technology Times, a Weibo blogger, posted a photo of the upcoming Legion gaming phone albeit blurry. The image confirms Lenovo’s phone to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as a Legion lock screen but in a red color scheme. Ofcourse, it’s also expected that the Legion Gaming phone will sport a high-refresh-rate AMOLED panel. We just have to wait if its 90hz, 120hz, or 144hz.

The renders of the Legion Gaming Phone show a mixture of BlackShark’s, ROG, and Razer’s best qualities infused into one. Apart from the bulky carrying case, the image shows four accessories that are included with the Legion Phone. The rightmost accessories appear to be switch-like joycons similar to ROG Phone II’s kunai. The thing between the controllers seems to be gaming-oriented wireless earbuds like the Hammerhead wireless from Razer. The top-right accessory near the phone looks like a phone case with a carbon fiber detail and two triangular bulges to help with the grip. Beneath the case is either a secondary screen attachment or its the backside of the Legion Gaming phone.

What’s interesting about this leak is a poster of a thermal picture of the Legion Gaming phone with almost the entirety of the phone being cool as represented by the green shade. It’s something that could even rival the ROG Phone’s Aero Active Cooler without the need of a physical attachment.

Google Just Revealed The Pixel 4a’s Price on a Billboard Ad

1

Google is notorious for teasing or leaking its phones ahead of launch. We’ve seen other brands do this “accidental leak” strategy. The most recent one to do this is Samsung with the Galaxy Z Flip’s price in a SuperBowl ad. The latest tease we got is the Pixel 4a revealing that it has the same launch price with its predecessor, the Pixel 3a.

The ads appear to be photoshopped, but it came from evleaks – a very reliable source. There will be several models available based on the images. Two-color variants are shown: Black on the first image and White on the second. Both sport the infamous loud colored power button.

As mentioned earlier, the Google Pixel 4a will have the same price as the Pixel 3a at $400 USD. The Pixel 4a is expected to sport a Snapdragon 730 with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, a 2GB ram upgrade versus the 3a. Moreover, 5G models for the Pixel 4a are also expected and, ofcourse, will surely cost more.

Living a single work day with the Huawei Y7p and Huawei AppGallery

1

Recently, Huawei has introduced the Huawei Y7p. It’s one of the first budget smartphones to take advantage of the Huawei AppGallery for its applications and it’s currently the world’s third biggest app store and more apps will be available at the store soon. And of course, we tested the smartphone and we used it for a single day to test out if the Google-less smartphone will be enough for the day.

Of course, before we start our day, we downloaded the apps that we need for our everyday use. With the Huawei Y7p, we used the AppGallery to download some of our applications and in case the apps are not yet available on the AppGallery, we also used a third party app to download other apps.

So what are the apps that we downloaded on AppGallery? Well, we do have the basic applications that we need on the AppGallery including PayMaya that I always use for cashless transactions and of course, there’s the BDO app that I always use for my banking.

And of course, I also downloaded the basic social media applications such as Instagram and Messenger that are available on third party stores. While the very popular TikTok, Facebook, Viber, WeChat, and SHAREit are available at the Huawei AppGallery and of course, there are also other productivity apps that are available on the AppGallery. For Shopping apps, both the Shopee and Lazada are also available on the AppGallery so I didn’t have a problem when I needed to shop something quick while I was on the go.

I didn’t have any problems running games on the smartphone too as most third party stores are offering the games that I always like to play including PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile. It’s basically the same and you can still play with your friends who are playing the game.

Basically, almost all of the apps on other Android smartphones will run just fine on the smartphone so if you’re planning on buying the Huawei Y7P, you don’t have to worry about apps as this one can still run most of the apps that you need on the smartphone.

The Huawei Y7p is now available for Php9,990.

Realme C3 Review: Best Entry-level smartphone

0

Earlier this month, realme has unveiled their newest budget smartphone in the market — the Realme C3. It’s one of the most exciting budget smartphones to date not only because of the price of the smartphone but also for the specs that you can get and also the power inside as this one packs a Helio G70 processor and also a triple camera. But is it really a good budget smartphone? Check it out below.

Realme C3 Review: Design and hardware

Without a doubt, the realme C3 is definitely a budget smartphone once you hold it. There’s the plastic body on the smartphone but unlike some other cheap smartphones, this one has a textured back that reminds me of the realme C2 before. The realme C3 also shares the same design of the realme 5i as we got here a vertical camera setup at the back with some lighting effect patterns at the back.

The realme C3 is not only an upgrade on the inside as the realme C3 features a larger body thanks to the 6.5-inch display of the smartphone. But it doesn’t mean that the smartphone isn’t ergonomic as the realme C3 is easy to hold, light, and very comfortable to use.

Unlike the realme C2, the realme C3 now features a fingerprint scanner that is placed at the back of the smartphone and of course, we still have here the power button and also the volume rocker on the smartphone that is very reachable in one hand. Below we can find here the micro USB port along with the speaker grill and also the headphone jack.

Realme C3 Review: Display

These days, the larger the display, the better and with the Realme C3, we’re getting here a large 6.5-inch HD+ display that is pretty good for gaming and other stuff. But of course, this is a budget smartphone so I was not expecting too much from the realme C3.

As expected, the display this wasn’t sharp as most smartphones and just like before, we’re getting here a small notch at the top to make way for the selfie camera of the smartphone. And of course, we still got here some small bezels on the sides and a chin below.

The colors of the display of the smartphone aren’t the best one even for its price range but I’m already satisfied with it. Nonetheless, for a budget smartphone, I wouldn’t complain about this one. Under direct sunlight, the realme C3’s display will still be visible and the touch response was quite fine for me when I was playing games.

Realme C3 Review: Battery life

One of the best things about this smartphone is the battery life as we got here a large 5000mAh battery and in my experience with this smartphone, I can play all day without asking for a battery the whole day. In my usage, the smartphone was able to last up to 14 hours and 19 minutes in PC Mark which proves that the smartphone is long-lasting.

In normal usage, you can play almost all day on the smartphone and you won’t need a powerbank with this one on a single workday.

Realme C3 Review: Software and performance

The realme C3 is one of the first smartphone to sport realme UI and it’s actually based on Android 10 and it has a lot of similarities to OPPO’s ColorOS but the realme UI is fast, responsive, and the user interface of the is really good and easy on the eyes.

Inside the smartphone is a MediaTek Helio G70 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. While the storage might be small, you expand it using your microSD card. Surprisingly, despite being an entry-level smartphone, the realme C3 does have a pretty good performance.

The Helio G70 is a surprising SoC as this one has scored pretty well in our benchmarks. Check out the scores that we got on the realme C3 below:

When it comes to gaming, the Helio G70 is actually pretty powerful and for a budget smartphone, you’ll be surprised with how the realme C3 performs. In our gaming test, we were able to run different games such as NBA 2k20, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile and even Black Desert Mobile. Yep, Black desert. Check out our gaming test of the smartphone below:

Realme C3 Review: Camera

The realme C3 features a 12MP main camera, 2MP portrait camera, and 2MP macro camera at the back and also a 5MP selfie camera. Unfortunately, the smartphone didn’t take advantage of an ultra wide-angle camera and I barely use the macro camera of the smartphone.

When it comes to shooting using the rear camera, you can expect that the realme C3 can shoot like an entry-level smartphone. The rear camera shots that we got will do just fine for a budget smartphone at decent lighting conditions but sometimes, it does lack in contrast. Check out the shots that we took using the smartphone.

The smartphone can also take videos at 1080p30 if you want and the selfies? It will do just fine as long as there’s decent lighting. Unfortunately, the realme C3 doesn’t have a night mode which is really disappointing

Realme C3 Review: Verdict

The realme C3 is an excellent entry-level smartphone. We got here a large display, large battery, and also a powerful processor inside that can run most games and applications without a sweat. For an entry-level smartphone, the realme C3 has smoked the other entry-level smartphones in its price range.

But of course, this is still not a perfect smartphone as we lack here an ultra-wide angle camera and also night mode but nonetheless, the realme C3 is still an excellent smartphone and I would highly recommend this smartphone if you’re looking for a budget smartphone.

The realme C3 is now available for Php5,990.
