Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Hands-on & First Impressions

Samsung’s flagship for this year has finally been launched, and honestly, despite the almost identical look from last year, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra packs some serious power on the inside that you might love.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra First Impressions

First, the design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is one of the features I love about it. You might have heard that the smartphone has flatter sides with more rounded corners, but what I really love about this one is that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra feels noticeably lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Honestly, the flat sides make the smartphone feel more like a slab brick but more solid.

Not only that, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra also has a more ergonomic feel because the weight is more evenly distributed compared to the iPhone. So, despite the large size of the smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is definitely easy to hold, and the grip is really nice. This is actually the most ergonomic large smartphone I’ve tried so far.

We still have the USB-C port below, along with the S-Pen, which was controversial because it no longer has Bluetooth. But honestly, it wasn’t a big deal for me, as I barely use it for shooting, and writing and drawing on the smartphone are still on point.

The display of the smartphone is definitely one of the best out there. It has thinner bezels and a flat glass display, making it perfect for both gaming and watching Netflix. It also has rounded edges, which make it better to look at.

At the back, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is hardly different from the previous generation, with a flat glass back and the same camera layout as the previous Galaxy S Ultra smartphones. However, of course, the camera on this smartphone is far better than the previous generation. Here are some of the sample shots:

Software and the built-in AI features are among the biggest highlights of this generation. Samsung has made AI more useful with the daily briefings that give you an overview of everything you need to know—news, appointments, and other updates. It’s like having a handy assistant with just the press of a button. This feature is probably my favorite thing about the Galaxy S25.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is definitely one of the best, if not the best smartphones out there. Yes, it might have an iterative update from the previous generation, but this also means that the smartphone fixed and retained the features and hardware we loved from the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The AI features are more engaging and useful than ever before, and I LOVE how powerful the camera is (we’ll fully cover that in my full review). I believe the Galaxy S25 Ultra is perfect for people who are using the Galaxy S23 Ultra or older.

HONOR X8c Launches in the Philippines for Php 13,999

HONOR has officially launched the HONOR X8c in the Philippines and it is just priced at Php 13,999 which makes it one of the smartphones that can be afforded by the masses.

The HONOR X8c features a 108MP main camera along with a 5MP wide camera and also a depth camera. The smartphone also features OIS for a more stabilize photography and videography. While for the front facing camera, there’s a 50MP sensor and the smartphone is also equipped with AI Eraser.

The HONOR X8c also features the HONOR Anti-Drop protection with just a weight of 174g and 7.12mm profile. The smartphone features a 5000mAh battery with 35W HONOR SuperCharge. While for the memory, it comes with a 512GB storage and 16GB equivalent RAM.

There’s a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display too with 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution with 2800 nits of brightness.

The HONOR X8c is available in Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Marrs Green. HUAWEI Philippines has announced that the MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025 is now available in the Philippines. This tablet brings a Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display, and a slim design. The latest tablet from HUAWEI is now available for PHP 64,999, bundled with set of accessories worth PHP 41,895.

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2-inch supports PC-Level WPS Office, enabling users to work on spreadsheets, reports, and projects with an interface similar to PC office apps. RUMOR: Foldable iPhone might arrive this late 2026

According to the noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the foldable iPhone us expected to arrive in Late 2026. The analyst has also pointed out some of the features and specifications we can expect from the foldable device.

According to Ming, Apple is looking into a book-style foldable smartphone which is similar to the Galaxy Fold and the OPPO Find N Series. The foldable iPhone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch outer display with a 7.8-inch OLED foldable display and it is reported that it will be “crease-free” thanks to an advance hinge mechanism.

For the materials, it is expected it will come with stainless steel and titanium that will be manufactured using advanced 3D printing technology. There will be no Face ID on the smartphone but it will come with a Touch ID on the smartphone as the Face ID won’t be able to fit in on a slim profile. Speaking of slim profile, it is expected to come with 4.5mm to 4.8mm when unfolded and 9-9.5mm when folded.

Kuo expects that the foldable iPhone is expected to cost between $2000-$2500.

realme launches the world’s first color-changing smartphone at MWC 2025

realme has just launched their mid-range realme 14 Pro series smartphones with color-changing technology at MWC 2025. These new smartphones from realme features a pearl texture with a temperature sensitive color-changing technology with a quad curved display and a first triple flash camera system.

The realme 14 Pro Series is born from the collaboration of realme and Valeur Designs, a design studio based in Copenhagen. This is unique due to the color-changing back cover of the smartphone. Basically, if you’re in temperatures below 16 degrees celsius, the rear cover shifts to a vibrant blue color from the pearl white color.

With the realme 14 Pro, the smartphone features a shell-like texture along with a thin profile with a 7.55mm thin body for the realme 14 Pro and just 8mm for the 14 Pro+.

The realme 14 Pro series 5G is expected to launch in the Philippines this March 20, 2025. However, customers may pre-order the smartphone in advance and you can get a FREE TechLife Bluetooth Speaker 2 worth Php1,799 and a Php1,000 discount when you pick-up a reserved unit.

This new Mac comes with some new features including Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, bigger unified memory capacity, and of course, AI.

The new Mac Studio comes with the M4 Max and M3 Ultra, these new chips from Apple support for up to 512GB of unified memory which is essential for LLM and AI as well. Whether for content creation, video editing, or AI model training, the new Mac Studio is perfect for that.

MacBook Air M4 will now come in Sky Blue and with a lower starting price

Apple has just announced the brand new MacBook Air today with the M4 Chip inside. But that’s not the most surprising part because the new Macbook Air now comes in a new color — Sky Blue. Apple has also announced that the new Macbook Air will now start at US$999 (CA$1,399/Php64,990).

The new MacBook Air will now come with the M4 chip on both 13″ and 15″ variants. We’ve previously saw this chip before on the iPad Pro and Apple is promising that the MacBook Air M4 will bring in 18 hours of battery life along with a starting 16GB of unified memory.

The M4 Chip will start at 10-core CPU and 8-core GPU but it can go as high as up to 10-core GPU for better performance. Apple is promising a 23x faster performance than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air.

The Macbook Air will still come with the same design and the same ports. It still has 2x USB-C, MagSafe charging port and also an audio combo jack. There’s a NEW 12MP Center Stage camera as well on the new MacBook Air.
