Google Pixel & Pixel XL Now Official!

0

The Google phones are now official and as expected from the leaks, this smartphone is really powerful as it comes with a Snapdragon 821 processor but what I didn’t expect is that the smartphone would get the highest scores in DXOMark. The Google Pixel comes in two variants — the Pixel and the Pixel XL.

GOOGLE PIXEL

  • 5-inch full HD AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 4
  • 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB/128GB Internal Storage
  • 12.3-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture with OIS
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner
  • 2770mAh battery
  • Android 7.1

GOOGLE PIXEL XL

  • 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 4
  • 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB/128GB Internal Storage
  • 12.3-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture with OIS
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner
  • 3450mAh battery with fast charging
  • Android 7.1

I know, some of you might say that this just another Android smartphone in the market. Well, actually, this isn’t just another Android smartphone because this smartphone is really designed by Google and you can also expect the latest Android updates with it and actually, it does have some cool features that you can’t find on other smartphones including Google Assistant which is a really smart AI that lets you help do everything on your phone by communicating with human language.

Another awesome thing about this smartphone is that the Google Pixel scored 88 in DxOMark which makes the smartphone the best camera smartphone that you can get.

The sad thing about the Pixel and Pixel XL is that we don’t have any idea if it will ever arrive in the country officially. But thankfully, there are gray market stores that would probably offer the Pixel and the Pixel XL soon.

The Google Pixel starts at $649 or roughly P31,000 and it will come in three funny colors — Quiet Black, Very Silver, and Really blue

ASUS Zenfone 3 Ultra Unboxing and Initial Impressions

0

The biggest Zenfone we ever saw was announced last May in Computex and it’s the ASUS Zenfone 3 Ultra. It’s a giant Zenfone with a 6.8-inch display that is meant for watching movies, Iflix and more. It isn’t the most powerful Zenfone that you can get but it has the hardware and the features that would surely entice consumers who love big phablets. Take a look at our unboxing and hands-on video below.

ASUS Zen AIO Pro Initial review

0

We’ve tried out the all-in-one computer of ASUS a few months ago and it was an engineering unit so we aren’t sure what will we get in the consumer variant but this time, we got the consumer variant of the ASUS Zen AIO Pro and yes, we still like it. The ASUS Zen AIO Pro is an all-in-one device that aims to compete with the likes of the iMac but this one packs a more powerful hardware with the touch of Zen design. Check out our initial review of the ASUS Zen AIO Pro below.

Nokia D1C: Nokia Android Smartphone appears in Benchmark

0

Nokia is part of our childhood & our lives. Without Nokia, We wouldn’t see some weird cellphones including cellphones that look like a lipstick and the cellphone that tries to be a game console. Well, if you thought that Nokia is already dead then think again because a new Nokia smartphone has appeared in Geekbench

Well, not much information has been teased but at least we get to see the leaked hardware specifications of the upcoming Nokia Android smartphone.

NOKIA D1C SPECS

  • 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core processor
  • Adreno 505 graphics processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • Android 7.0 Nougat

Obviously, this smartphone isn’t aimed at the high-end market and I think that they’re aiming for the affordable line for an increase in the market share. Besides, a lot of people are still in love with Nokia. I hope that they could release their own flagship smartphone too soon.

Cherry Mobile Flash Review

0

.

“>cherry-mobile-flash-15

Looking for a decent Cherry Mobile smartphone with a decent power and some cool feature including a fingerprint sensor? Then you might want to take a look at the Cherry Mobile Flash. It’s a decent Android smartphone from Cherry Mobile and it is perfect for those who are on the budget.

A comfortable and simple design

 cherry-mobile-flash-10

The Cherry Mobile Flash got a simple but a nice design. It’s not thick but it’s not really that thin but it’s very comfortable to use. At the back, you can see a textured design along with the logo of Cherry Mobile and flash. You can also find the fingerprint scanner, speaker grill, and the camera with LED flash at the back.

cherry-mobile-flash-14

The 5.5-inch display is just perfect for me and the curves? The smartphone just feels comfortable to hold and I really didn’t have any problems using the phone even at one hand. Below the display is the 3 capacitive buttons and one of them is a red circle which also serves as the home button. Design-wise, it really annoys me that it doesn’t use the home icon which is accustomed for most android smartphones. Also, the capacitive buttons don’t illuminate which may suck to some people.

cherry-mobile-flash-4

Inside the Cherry Mobile Flash is a 2800mAh battery and for some, you might think that the battery isn’t enough for the smartphone’s hardware but I was actually surprised that this smartphone could last more than half a day of use. For casual users, the Cherry Mobile Flash could actually last up to a day of use even without the need of powerbank or a charger.

There might be a lot of positive things that I can say with the Cherry Mobile Flash but its biggest con is its speaker. The speaker isn’t loud and probably, you won’t even hear the notifications when you are using this smartphone.

Display is good

 cherry-mobile-flash-12

Everytime I review a smartphone, I always consider its hardware to its price and one of the things that I really look into is the display of the smartphone. The Cherry Mobile Flash got a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and for its price, it’s quite good. There’s a good viewing angle for the display and the color reproduction of the display is really good.

Just the right performance

This is a P5,999 smartphone and yet we are still satisfied on how this one performs. Look, this isn’t the best or the fastest smartphone that you can get in the market but I’m pretty sure that casual users and most mobile gamers who are on the budget will still find the 1.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 processor of the Cherry Mobile Flash still fine.

However, there’s only a 2GB of RAM so RAM-intensive applications and games would probably run slower than you expect but don’t worry, 2GB of RAM is still more than enough for most users especially if you’re just the type of guy who is just into browsing the internet and also playing casual games.

At the back is the fingerprint sensor and I can say that this isn’t the best or the fastest fingerprint sensor that you can find out there but again, for its price, I wouldn’t really complain about it and again, the fingerprint sensor was really functional and it is still fine to use.

 cherry-mobile-flash-9

Camera is not its best feat, but it’s still well

Again, I was surprised that the Cherry Mobile Flash would still have a camera like this. I mean, there are a lot of better cameras on a smartphone but at its price range, the Cherry Mobile Flash’ camera performs pretty well. Although, I noticed that the smartphone’s camera produces warmer shots and some are a little bit overexposed.

Verdict

 cherry-mobile-flash-11

Overall, I was not expecting the Cherry Mobile Flash would perform like this. I mean, yeah, the white paper specs is good for its price but not the best one but its experience and its performance was just beyond my expectations. There are only a few things that you might not like about it including the speaker but in my overall usage, the Cherry Mobile Flash is a just great smartphone for its price range.

0

The ASUS Zenfone 3 Max is definitely one of the hottest offerings of ASUS as this smartphone packs premium materials, long battery life, and an affordable price. Actually, this smartphone is the most affordable in the Zenfone 3 Series that’s why this smartphone is really hot to the consumers.

To give you a quick recap, the smartphone packs a MediaTek processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. I know, it’s not the best smartphone that you can get in the market but it is definitely one of the smartphones that can last more than a day.

LG G5 Unboxing, Hands-on & First Impressions

0

LG’s current flagship, the LG G5 wants to be different from the others by offering different accessories called LG friends. But not only that, LG has also introduced some cool new features on the smartphone including the dual camera lens which gives you a powerful standard camera and also a wide angle lens which is really perfect for taking photos of a landscape or groupie photos. With the LG G5, the company has also opted to go for the metal body instead of leather which was seen on the LG G4. Do you want to know more about the smartphone? Check out our unboxing and hands-on video below

  • 1TB WD Black
  • ASUS GeForce ROG Strix GTX 1070

asus-strix-13

The 10-series GPU of Nvidia is one of the best that we’ve seen in years. It’s a big leap from the predecessor and the performance of the GTX 1070 can even trash the performance of the GTX 980Ti, last year’s GPU monster.

.

“>asus-strix-5

And today, we’ll review the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070 OC and as expected the GPU comes with some features that you can’t find on other GPU and are exclusive on ASUS GPUs. So should you buy this or should you get a different GPU? You’ll know in this review.

.

“>asus-strix-8.”>asus-strix-9

First, let’s talk about the design of the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070. The GPU looks cool and it dons a bad-ass look at is carries the genes of the ROG products when it comes to design. Of course, it’s also big but that’s already expected. Actually, the GPU is really big and I first thought the ROG Strix GTX 1070 wouldn’t fit on my PC LOL.

praise-the-lord-to-this-gpu

At the back, you’ll see the metal backplate that features the ASUS Strix Logo along with the ROG logo that lights up along with the RGB lighting of the ASUS Strix GTX 1070. At the rear of the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX, 1070 OC offers 2 HDMI 2.0 ports and also 2 DisplayPort and a single DVI-D port

asus-strix-10

asus-strix-11

The ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1070 comes in factory overclocked at 1633 MHz which gives a lot of power compared to the reference model. But of course, that also comes with a caveat, the ASUS ROG Strix 1070 tends to be hotter than I expected. Actually, it is even hotter than other GPUs because it comes to OC-ed out of the box.

asus-strix-4

But don’t worry about the heat because it’s using a DirectCU heatsink design with three wing-blade fans and of course, there’s the ASUS RGB lighting which can be customized in the desktop application and yes, it really offers full RGB support and it gives you a bright and vivid RGB colors.

asus-strix-1

One of the biggest features of this graphics card is the inclusion of the RGB lights which can be fully controlled by the GPU Tweak II application that is installed on the PC. The application also lets you choose different modes and also see the status of your GPU and in case you wanna monitor your GPU.  However, I wished that ASUS could improve their software even more but don’t worry because the app is still very functional.

gpu-3

gpu-review-1

In my use, I always use the fan at full speed since this one comes in OC out of the box and it tends to be hotter compared to others. I get around 45c at idle and around 75c when playing games. Actually, it’s not bad since the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070 OC is really powerful. Oh and the noise? No problem, the GPU runs silently than I expected.

asus-strix-6

The performance of the ASUS Strix GTX 1070 is just mind-blowing and the performance is even better than the last year’s GTX 980Ti. In my test, the ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 produces a tremendous performance but with a hotter temperature, however, cranking the fans would help to tone down the temperature but of course, it would bring a noisier fan.

I tried different games with this GPU and it performs really well. Actually, it performs better than I expected. Here are some of the games that I tried using this lovely GPU at max settings in 4K.

strix-fps

Verdict

I’m pretty impressed with what the ASUS GeForce ROG Strix GTX 1070 can do. It performs better than most but it also tends to be hotter than the others. The factory overclock was really great too and it is already a plus for some people who are really not into overclocking. Overall, the ASUS GeForce ROG Strix 1070 belongs on my “must-buy” list if I need to build a PC now with the latest Pascal architecture. But of course, If you have more moolah to spend, go for the ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1080
