Marian Tab

Here’s an interesting tablet from a local brand. Obviously, the name of this tablet came from one of the biggest stars in the showbiz industry, Marian Rivera. This tablet caught my eye not because of Marian Rivera (seriously!) in her beautiful red dress but because of its specifications. The Marian Tab would be powered by an Octa-Core processor and it will have a 1920 x 1200 display. Not only it will have an Octa-Core processor and a WUXGA display, but it will also have a dual sim card slot. Check out the full specifications below:

SKK Mobile Marian Tab Specifications

  • 1.7 GHz Octa-Core processor
  • 7″ 1920×1200 LTPS Display
  • 16 GB Internal Storage with MicroSD card slot up to 32 GB
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 18 MP Rear Camera
  • 5 MP Front Camera
  • Bluetooth
  • 3G
  • GPS
  • Dual Sim
  • 3500mAh Battery
  • Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Unfortunately, the SRP of this tablet hasn’t been announced yet. But damn, the specifications of Marian Tab (the tablet, not Rivera!) is really interesting.

Cogito Pop and Classic now available in the Philippines!

0

It’s the year of wearables. Most of the smartwatches that are on the market right aren’t really stylish and the batteries doesn’t last for a month. Well, Cogito Pop is a smartwatch that combines fashion and technology. Cogito Pop has an analog clock with LED icons that alerts you whenever there’s an incoming call, an email or a message on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram and more. You could also use the Cogito Pop to locate your phone, trigger the camera and control your music player.

The Cogito Classic is the more premium smartwatch. Just like the Cogito Pop, the Cogito Classic would have an analog clock but this time, it will have a digital display. You could see in the watch face the name of the person calling you and your notifications. Yep, no need to check your phone for notifications.

Both the Cogito Classic and the Cogito Pop uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE technology to your iOS 7 and Android 4.3 devices. Oh and they are water resistant for up to 10 ATM. Yep, you could use . The Cogito Pop and Cogito Classic are now available for PhP5,500 and PhP9,000. Check em’ out at ThinkScape PH.

Thanks Gian!

ASUS Fonepad 7

ASUS has announced a more affordable Fonepad tablet, the ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG. Don’t get confused with the former Fonepad 7 because this one will have a much lower spec’ed screen but it will still sport an Intel processor inside and a dual-sim card slot.

Unfortunately, there’s only a mere 4 GB internal storage on the ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG but don’t worry because the ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG will support MicroSD cards for up to 64 GB. Another feature that you’ll probably hate on this tablet is the small 1024 x 600 resolution on the display. The ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG is expected to sport the ASUS ZenUI which is ASUS’ mobile device interface. I haven’t seen and tried that yet but I hope that it wouldn’t suck. Oh and before I forgot, this phablet is upgradeable to Android 4.4 Kitkat

ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG Specifications

  • Intel Atom Dual-Core Z2520 Processor 1.2 GHz with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology

LG G3
LG G3

LG G3 is just around the corner and it’s coming this May 28. Since there are a lot of leaks, I think LG has decided to show the LG G3 already. In these 3 videos, LG has focus on 3 different features — camera, display and design. These videos also confirmed the LG G2 would sport a 2560 x 1440 display and a metallic look. Check out the videos below.

Google Play Movies now available in the Philippines

1

Google Play store offers us books and apps but not movies. But starting today, Google Play will now offer movies to us Filipinos in the Play Store. The movies are cheap though. Most of the recent movies are priced at P500 and up but if you just want to rent a movie, you can rent a movie at around P170.

The movies that are available are from Hollywood and I didn’t see a lot of Tagalog movies. Well, I wish I would see some great Filipino movies like OTJ but I hope I wouldn’t see My Little Bossings on the Play Store. I hate that movie.

JBL J55 Review

JBL J55 1
JBL J55 1

I’ve reviewed a lot of JBL headphones before and I can say that they’re really making high-end entertainment system. Not only that they’re categorize as high-end earphones but they also create stylish and premium design on their headphones.

The JBL J55 review unit that I got is the black one and it looks very premium. The JBL J55 has a matte plastic body and it feels very sturdy. One unique feature that I that I love and hate in the JBL J55 is you can rotate the earcups for up to 180 degree. I love it because I can rotate but most of the time, I get annoyed with it because most of the time, I accidentally rotate the earcups.

The cable is flat that’s why it has less tangles and the it’s thick so you don’t have to worry about the wire inside it getting torn off. FYI, I love cables that are thick and flat. The cables are also long enough for my use. Not bad at all.

The earpads is one of the things that you’ll love in the JBL J55, it’s very soft and it’s very comfortable to use. Of all the on-ear headphones that I’ve trie, I think the JBL J55 was the most comfortable of em’all.

JBL is very proud that the JBL J55 is made for those people who love bass and yes, you won’t be disappointed when you choose the JBL J55. The bass was good and you can hear how it pummels in your ear.

If you’re looking outside the bass, you might notice the sound gets muffled because the sound gets deeper than I expected but don’t worry, it wasn’t really that noticeable.

JBL J55 is made for the people who love bass. Its design and construction are really worth for its price and it is one of the most premium looking that ‘s available in the market. The bass of the JBL J55 wasn’t disappointing too and overall, I really like the JBL J55.

The JBL J55 is now available at JBL Acoustical Space Megamall, JBL Sound Gallery BGC, and JBL Digital Dreams SM North.

Looks like LG isn’t good in keeping information of their upcoming flagship phone. The full specifications of LG G3 has been leaked and it looks like it would really have a QHD display on a 5.5 IPS display. LG is also proud that their next flagship would have a 1W speaker. Yeah, much better audio quality on a smartphone.

I’m disappointed to see Snapdragon 801 on this device. I was hoping that the LG G3 would rock a better and faster Snapdragon 805. According to these leaks, the LG G3 would also feature a laser sensor on its back that would help you in low-light photography. Here’s the full specifications of the LG G3

  • 32 GB Internal Storage

Xiaomi MI TV 2

Ever thought of a 4k Smart TV that won’t cost you an arm and a leg? Then maybe, you might want to book a flight to China and wait for Xiaomi’s MI TV 2!. So what’s with Xiaomi’s MI TV 2? Well, for CNY3999 or $640 or Php29,000, you could get a decent 4k Smart TV running on Android. Yes, that’s not a typo folks.

Xiaomi MI TV 2 has a 49″ 4k display which is also capable of 3D with a thin bezel of 6.2mm thin and the Smart TV is just 15.5mm thin. Inside the Xiaomi MI TV 2 is a 1.45 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MStar 6A918 with Mali-450 MP4 GPU along with the 2 GB of RAM which I think will be enough for your games. Yes, games because it is running on a customized Android with MIUI TV interface and you can connect your bluetooth gamepads on the TV.  There’s an 8 GB of internal storage but you can also put a MicroSD card inside it.

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi MI TV 2 will only be available in China. But hey, it’ll be interesting if Xiaomi can bring this TV in the Philippines.
