MMDA-TV5 Traffic Navigator System Launch

MMDA-TV5 Traffic Navigator System launch

Last August 1, TV5 and MMDA launch the MMDA traffic navigator system which I blogged about a few weeks ago.  The Metro Manila Traffic Navigator system is the country’s first ever digitized traffic information system that lets motorists and commuters view the traffic situation around the metro in real time over the internet.

The Traffic Navigator provides the public an overview of the traffic situation on EDSA, C5, Quezon Avenue, Espana, Roxas Blvd. and SLEX. They can check via system view, line view or on Google maps. I prefer line view because it is very easy to find the street that I’m looking for but if you are the guy who isn’t familiar with the streets around the metro, I suggest that you use the Google maps view.

The MMDA Metro base updates the situation for no less than 67 intersections every 5 to 15 minutes. After the public release of public beta version last June 29 at least 6,000 drivers and commuters have been using the TV5-MMDA traffic navigator everyday
The panel at Q&A

Along with the media launch of the Traffic Navigator system is announcement of the future release of interaksyon.com’s iPhone and iPad app which will come with Traffic Navigator system and 92.3 Radyo Singko. You can also view tweets of kapatid reporters and reply to them in-app.
Oh, if you’re asking on what browsers and OS is the Traffic navigator system compatible. It will run on Wintel computers, Macs, Linux machines, iPhones, iPads, Android phones, Windows Mobile, Opera, and any web browser already installed on mobile gadgets.

Nokia X7 + Games

0
It has been a week since the guys at WOMWorld brought me a review unit of the Nokia X7. The first thing that came to my mind when I received the package was what are the apps (especially games) that I can install in it. After unboxing the Nokia X7 I immediately download some apps and games that I saw in the OVI Store.

Who says Nokia X7 can’t play?
Ovi store offers a vast array of applications and games for the Symbian phones. Well, It isn’t big as the Apple Appstore or the Android Market but they have some pretty cool games in store for us like the addicting Angry Birds

There are 2 games pre-installed on the Nokia X7 those are Galaxy on Fire and Asphalt 5.  There are a lot of paid and free games that you can download on the OVI store but if you’re in the Philippines, You can’t download paid apps, I think it is not supported yet. But you can download paid apps on the Internet. You can find a lot of cool games out there.
The Pros and Cons
I love to play on the Nokia X7, Why? Because of the 4”AMOLED CBD. So you might ask me what does the AMOLED CBD do. AMOLED display is way better and has more vivid colors than the Super Clear LCD that you can see on the Galaxy SL. CBD means Clearblack display. The black seems to be blacker on the CBD display. Another thing that I like about this thing is the crisp and loud speaker.
If there are pros, there are cons too. I like the body of the Nokia X7 but they should’ve made edges on the side, it is very difficult to hold the phone using only one hand. Symbian OS is another thing that I didn’t like about it. Why? Symbian is way too far than the iOS and Android. Symbian always crash when you open a lot of apps and sometimes, slowdowns.

Anyway, Symbian still offers a lot of cool games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Asphalt and many more. If you’re a RPG fanboy, you might consider Dungeon Hunters, MMORPGs 2 or Eternal Legacy for Symbian^3. But beware; Slowdowns and crashes are frequent on the Nokia X7.

Nokia 500 Specs, Reviews & Price in the Philippines

1

Feeling that your Symbian^3 phone is a bit slow on your 680 MHz processor?. Today Nokia has answered your prayers with Nokia 500. Yes, I think they decided to dump the confusing naming convention of Nokia. Instead of using C,X,N or whatever letter they want they decided to just use three numbers — 500. This first 1 GHz Symbian Anna phone is expected to be released soon on the market.

The phone looks like the C5-03 and X6 but this one has a faster processor and an upgraded OS. There are also 2 changeable covers available.
Nokia 500 Specifications:

3.2″ display @ 360×640 pixels
1GHz processor
2GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
HSDPA 14.4Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1
5MP camera
GPs w/ aGPS support
FM radio tuner
1100mAh battery
Symbian Anna OS

I still don’t have any idea what is the exact processor being used in here and the camera used whether it is an EDoF or Autofocus.

Nokia 500 Review
There are now available reviews of Nokia 500 yet but I’ll update you guys when there’s a review unit or a review video available online 🙂

Kevin Durant endorses SMART Bro

0

KD35 endorses SMART Bro
Last weekend the NBA All-stars went to play with our own Filipino players at Smart Araneta Coliseum. And one of those All-star that played here is the 6’9” guard/forward Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City Thunders. And during that time, SMART wasted no time getting KD35 as an endorser for Smart Bro.  Just like SMART Bro, Kevin Durant shares the same qualities that made them leaders – dedication, determination and drive.
And speaking of SMART Bro, Smart undertook a network modernization and enhancement program to improve the service this year. Alongside enhancing the current network, SMART Bro also works to upgrade the customers’ Internet experience with an aggressive roll out of HSPA+. With about 150 sites up in areas nationwide, HSPA+ will be launching very soon the Bro Rocket Plug-it, which is capable of speeds up to 12 mbps under optimal conditions
SMART Bro also aims to deliver the ultimate mobile broadband experience that’s why they introduce the SMART Bro Evolution on its own LTE network (Yes, it runs on the 4G Radio technology). LTE can potentially reach speeds up to 100mbps when fully upgraded.
I’m still wondering where can we find those HSPA+ sites. I also want to test Smart Bro rocket and Smart evolution personally if they really offer the speeds that we demanded. Since Kevin Durant endorses this brand, I think it can attract KD35 fanatics out there. Nice move getting Kevin Durant, SMART!

Nokia X7 is the latest Symbian Anna phone that was released by Nokia. It has a 4-inch AMOLED Clear black Display, 8 Megapixel EDoF camera which can record 720p videos. It also features a thin and sexy profile with a stainless steel body.

I believe that when you buy in the Philippines, you can get a different accessories that comes in the box.
