Google will acquire Motorola Mobility for a whooping $12.5 Billion. Google bought Motorola Mobility (Not the entire Motorola just the Mobile division). Some of Motorola’s Android devices are Motorola Defy, Motorola Atrix and Motorola Xoom.
Google said that Android will remain open and Motorola Mobility won’t see a merger and it will still remain as a separate business. They bought Motorola for one thing — to defend Android from Patent wars. Don’t worry if you’re a Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson or LG users. The CEO of those companies supported the acquisition of Motorola Mobility
