Globe announced 4G LTE, expect LTE speeds soon!

Rejoice! Fast LTE internet will be coming to Globe very soon! Globe said that this is part of their $700 Million network modernization program. Globe’s LTE will commence this September 2012 and they will launch the 4G LTE service through Tattoo (Just in time for the next iPhone which will be probably sued by Apple). I guess its name will be Globe iPhone tattoo just like the Globe iPad tattoo which was launched a few months ago. So what does that mean if there’s 4G LTE on Globe?

Basically, The 4G LTE will let you have a faster internet which is faster than most internet at home but I guess they’ll have a bandwidth limit on this one just like the Smart LTE. The residents in Makati City will be the first to experience Globe’s 4G LTE Service. Today, Globe has the largest 4G network in the country with 2,700 4G sites and and by the end of the year, it is expected to increase to over 4,000 4G sites.

It’s good that they announced the 4G LTE from Globe. Smart already had a LTE beta test a few months ago and LTE has been commercially available in other countries a long time ago. Since the new iPad is already equipped with LTE, the next iPhone is expected to have the LTE too.

I wasn’t able to attend the Globe LTE presscon last week since I have classes that time. Well I hope that I can get to see and try this soon.
