43 Grams: Meta’s Lightest, Slimmest AI Glasses

Without a camera module to house, Ray-Ban Meta Audio weighs just 43 grams. Meta calls them its lightest and slimmest AI glasses yet, in iconic Ray-Ban style.

Comfort hardware includes professional-adjustable temple tips, adjustable or swappable nose pads, and overextension hinges. Two new styles are on offer which are the retro-inspired Clubmaster and the timeless rectangular Burbank across 23 color and lens combinations, all compatible with a wide range of optical prescriptions.

12 Hours of Music, Calls, and Muse

Audio has been Meta’s most popular glasses feature since day one. You can listen to music and podcasts, take calls that capture your voice more clearly than earbuds, and talk with your AI assistant hands-free.

Battery life runs up to 12 hours on a single charge, with up to an additional 48 hours from the included charging case. The glasses connect to Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, for sports scores, local restaurant picks, live conversation translation, and daily-life help.

Meta’s camera-equipped glasses drew steady criticism over covert recording. A camera-free pair keeps the microphones and the AI while dropping the feature that caused the privacy concerns.

Alongside the audio glasses, Meta launched Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), the next generation of its best-selling AI glasses. They are available today starting at $449 USD (CA$559)

Gen 3 packs the tech wearers love into a slimmer, more comfortable design with longer battery life and a new customizable action button for instant Meta AI access. Up to nine hours of battery life is a full hour more than Gen 2.

A new 6-mic array cuts more than 90% of background noise, so calls and voice commands stay crisp even on windy or crowded streets. The 12MP camera captures 3K Ultra HD video hands-free, with new dynamic photos that pick the best frame and the built-in LED recording indicator returns.

Three styles are available: Aviator, the bold new cat-eye Zena, and Wayfarer, across 27 color and lens combinations. A limited-edition Aviator marks the 90th anniversary of the Ray-Ban Aviator in a vintage-inspired colorway.

Later this year, Meta AI glasses will be the first consumer devices that let users capture and experience videos in Dolby Atmos with 360-degree spatial sound. Just record and the glasses handle everything.

LISA Collab, Kylie Jenner, and Meta’s Most Affordable Glasses

Meta is expanding its Meta Glasses collection with EssilorLuxottica. Two new styles, Capri and Nova, join the lineup, alongside a Mix & Match program that lets you customize your frame, lenses, and case color at a Meta Lab store or online.

A brand-new Meta Glasses collection designed with LISA features a custom star on the case and frames, special-edition case charms inspired by her pets, and unique digital photocards you unlock with the glasses. The Adventurer LISA Edition and Capri LISA Edition both start at $399 USD.

Coming to More Countries — Including the Philippines

Meta is bringing its AI glasses to new countries starting today: Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates, with Brazil coming soon. For Filipino readers, Oakley Meta, Ray-Ban Meta, and Ray-Ban Meta Optics are slated to arrive in the Philippines later this year, alongside Turkey, Poland, Portugal, Israel, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Malaysia.

Hearing Enhancement Accessibility Feature

Meta also announced Hearing Enhancement, a $150 USD add-on for select Meta glasses styles, aimed at people with mild to moderate hearing loss. It uses the glasses’ six speakers to deliver clearer audio, and includes a 30-day free trial.

Meta notes that traditional hearing aids normally cost at least $800, positioning this as a far more affordable alternative. It is also available through a Meta One subscription.
