MediaTek has just announced their two new chips that comes with 5G and it’s expected to launch on smartphones this year and these are the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 and the Dimensity 1100. These are chipsets that are made under 6nm and they are added to the 5G portfolio of their chipsets.
These Mediatek chips comes with 5G aggregation across FDD and TDD, DSS and it also comes with true Dual SIM 5G and also VoNR. For the Dimensity 1200, it can handle 200MP photos with its five-core HDR-ISP and it can also record videos at 4K HDR. With its hexa-core AI processor, the Dimensity can improve its power efficiency and also its multi-task scheduler. While the Dimensity 1100 can handle 108MP cameras and also comes with APU 3.0 for better computing and also power-efficiency.
While for the performance, the Dimensity 1200 comes with a Cortex-A78 CPU Core that is clocked at 3GHz, 3x Cortex-A78 super cores and four Cortex-A55 cores for power efficiency. There’s a none-core GPU too and a six-core MediaTek APU 3.0. While the Dimensity 1100 comes with an Octa-Core CPU that is comprised of 4x Cortex-A78 cores and 4x Cortex-A55 cores. And for the GPU, there’s the Mali-G77 GPU.
As for the displays, the Dimensity 1200 supports 168HYz refresh rate while the Dimensity 1100 supports 144Hz refresh rates and both chips supports MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0 which lets do 5G call and data concurrency and to have a reliable connectivity. Both chips also supports BT 5.2 and it also supports ultra-low latency true wireless stereo audio and LC3 encoding for better quality.
Expect the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 to OEMs including XIaomi, Vivo, OPPO, and realme. Expect this chips to arrive this Q1 and Q2
