Here’s why I prefer the MSI Optix MAG281URF for my PS5

I’ve been looking for the best monitor for my Playstation 5 and it looks like I’ve found the right one for me and it’s the MSI Optix MAG281URF. This monitor has everything that we need for our PS5 including HDMI 2.1, high refresh rate, and a gamer-centric features.

Flexibility

Aside from the technical features that we got from the MSI Optix MAG281URF, there’s the flexibility for the gaming monitor as we can tilt, rotate, swivel and adjust the height of the MSI Optix MAG281URF.

This gives us the flexibility for the monitor that we need so whatever position that we are playing on the monitor. Whether we want to play in bed, on the couch, or just sitting upright, well, that won’t be a problem on the gaming monitor. This feature is also great for those people who wants to use their monitor for work as they can easily rotate the monitor in portrait mode for those who wants to use it for Sheets, Excel or whatever office apps that you want to use with it.

HDMI 2.1

This is the feature that most console players have been looking for as HDMI 2.1 brings the best feature that we’re looking for a console – a higher refresh rate thru HDMI port. The HDMI 2.1 is rare on displays or monitors as this technology standard is just new. 

HDMI 2.1 lets you run displays at 4K at up to 240Hz and with the MSI Optix MAG281URF, you’ll be able to maximize the 27.9” 4K display of the monitor. Higher refresh rates has become essential as there are now games that supports high frame rates especially the shooter ones.

Designed for gamers

One of the things that hardcore gamers love about their components and peripherals is to match their RGB lights and their gaming aesthetics. With the MSI Optix MAG281URF, it features an RGB lighting at the back with an edgy design as well. And for the controls, it was user-friendly and pretty easy to access as well as it only comes with a single OSD joystick. 

Navigating thru the menu with the OSD joystick was a breeze along with its user-friendly UI so switching profiles from your console to your PC was simple and fast. I actually like switching profiles as I do prefer different colors and profile wheneve I’m playing games on my PS5 and also on my PC.

Amazing display

And of course, the best part about the MSI Optix MAG281URF is the display. Again, this is only one of the few monitors that supports HDMI 2.1 so we are able to maximize the high resolution and refresh rate in our Playstation 5.

As for the colors, the display comes with HDR400 which will give realistic colors and in our experience with the MSI Optix MAG281URF, we definitely enjoyed the HDR performance and also the colors when we’re playing games such as God of War: Ragnarok and also Horizon Forbidden West. 

The 4K resolution also gives out a crisp visuals whether you want to use it for your PC or for the PS5 and the 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms GTG is perfect for my FPS games on both consoles and also on the PC.
