Apple announces WWDC 2026 starting June 8 with previews of iOS 27, macOS 27, iPadOS 27, and more

Apple has officially announced that Worldwide Developers Conference 2026 or WWDC26 will take place from June 8 to June 12. The annual developer event is expected to introduce the next generation of Apple software updates including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27.

WWDC26 will once again bring together developers, students, and creators worldwide through online sessions and special in-person activities at Apple Park. WWDC26 will begin with the Apple Keynote on June 8 at 10 a.m. PDT. Apple is expected to unveil major updates across its ecosystem including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, & visionOS 27

Apple also confirmed that the keynote will feature new AI advancements, software experiences, and developer tools.

The keynote will be streamed through Apple’s official website, Apple TV app, and YouTube channel.

For users who need long battery life, the OPPO Find N6 is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery. On the camera side, the smartphone features a 200MP Hasselblad camera system and supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording. The foldable smartphone is also built with IP56 and IP59-rated dust and water resistance. OPPO is offering the Find N6 in two color options: Stellar Titanium and Blossom Orange.

GTA 6 Pre-Orders May Open On May 18 After Best Buy Leak

GTA 6 pre-orders could open as early as May 18, based on a leaked Best Buy affiliate email reportedly by Insider Gaming.

The email was allegedly sent through Impact, an affiliate platform used by Best Buy. The campaign is said to be titled “GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)” and reportedly runs from May 18 to May 21.

However, Rockstar Games, Take-Two, and Best Buy have not officially confirmed the pre-order date or pricing yet.

GTA 6 is currently set to launch on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

ASUS has officially launched the Zenbook A14 in Canada. The new ASUS Zenbook A14 (UX3407) weighs just 990g, features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, and is now available in Canada through the ASUS Store and Best Buy.

Lightweight Build with Ceraluminum Chassis

One of the main highlights of the laptop is its lightweight build. ASUS used its Ceraluminum material for the chassis again, which the company says offers better durability while also helping keep the device light and portable. In our review of the first generation Zenbook A14 a few months ago, we did love how light and durable it is.

Inside, the laptop is powered by an 18-core Snapdragon X2 Elite processor paired with Qualcomm Adreno graphics and a Hexagon NPU with up to 80 TOPS. It also comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

For the display, the ASUS Zenbook A14 comes with a 14-inch WUXGA OLED panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 600 nits peak HDR brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a wide viewing angle. On the connectivity side, the laptop offers USB Type-A, two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Swatch x Audemars Piguet Royal Pop designs unveiled with lanyard design and colorful Bioceramic cases

Swatch and Audemars Piguet have officially introduced the Royal Pop. Instead of going for a traditional wristwatch design inspired by the Royal Oak, the Royal Pop arrives as a pocket watch-style timepiece with a lanyard and a playful look and colors.

The Swatch x Audemars Piguet Royal Pop comes in eight different colorways and features a compact 40mm case with an 8.4mm thickness. It uses Swatch’s Bioceramic material and carries a distinctive design from Audemars Piguet that can be removed from its frame, allowing users to mix and match with other frames. I am expecting from third party sellers as well.

One of the more unique details of the Royal Pop is its lanyard-based form factor, making it feel more like a wearable accessory or charm instead of a standard watch. Just like a Labubu. There is also a mini time circle in the middle in some colors. The collaboration appears to target a younger audience with its colorful finish and collectible approach and probably, a future owners of Audemars Piguet.

Inside, Swatch is introducing a manually wound Sistem 51 movement for the Royal Pop. Some variants even come with a small seconds display placed 90 degrees from the crown, which further reinforces the pocket watch concept behind the release. The movement is visible through the display case back and also features decorative pop art-inspired details.

The Swatch x Audemars Piguet Royal Pop is set to arrive in stores on May 16.

Googlebook announced as Google’s new Gemini-first laptop

Google has officially introduced Googlebook, a new category of laptops designed around Gemini Intelligence. This is the next step beyond the Chromebook era, Googlebook combines parts of Android and ChromeOS to deliver a more AI-focused laptop experience while also offering tighter integration with Android smartphones.

Googlebook is built from the ground up for Gemini Intelligence and this won’t use ChromeOS. It’s a completely new one. One of its main features is Magic Pointer. Google says it as an upgraded cursor experience that can bring Gemini-powered suggestions depending on what the user is pointing at on the screen.

Another feature is Create your Widget, which allows users to generate custom widgets using prompts and with AI. Google says Gemini can pull information from the internet or connect with Google apps such as Gmail and Calendar to create a more personalized desktop dashboard.

Googlebook is a better fit for users already in the Android ecosystem. Features such as easier access to phone apps and Quick Access for viewing and inserting files from a phone directly on the laptop are part of the features.

On the hardware side, Google confirmed that it is working with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo for the first wave of Googlebook devices. Google has not yet shared complete hardware specifications or exact device availability, but the company said more details will be announced when Googlebook devices arrive this fall.

Audemars Piguet x Swatch ‘Royal Pop’ teased, Calgary Swatch store display hints at possible colorways

The upcoming Audemars Piguet x Swatch collaboration is starting to get more attention, especially after Swatch’s “Royal Pop” teasers and their partnership have been confirmed. Rumours are that the upcoming watch will sport the Audemars Piguet’s iconic Royal Oak design with the Bioceramic materials similar to the Moonswatch which was a partnership of Swatch and Omega.

What makes it more interesting is the display and teaser box I spotted at the Swatch store in Calgary. The packaging features a gold-toned lid with repeated Royal Pop branding, while the sides show several colorful panels and graphics that may hint at the possible variants. Based on the display, possible colors appear to include pink, green, yellow, navy, black, white, light blue, and red/orange.

 

Like previous Swatch collaborations, this one seems to be going for a more playful and collectible look. While the final design and full details are still under wraps, the colorful teaser already suggests that the Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop release could be one of the most eye-catching watch drops from Swatch this year.

Apple’s iPhone 17 is the world’s best-selling smartphone for the first quarter of 2026, according to the latest data from Counterpoint Research.

The iPhone 17 captured 6% of global smartphone shipments in Q1 2026, making it the best-selling smartphone in the world. It was followed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro.

Samsung’s Galaxy A series had the strongest presence among Android devices, taking five spots in the global top 10 list. The Galaxy A07 4G was the best-selling Android smartphone during the quarter. The popularity of the A07 was due to its affordability.

The top 10 best-selling smartphones accounted for 25% of total global unit sales in Q1 2026, the highest Q1 concentration ever recorded while Xiaomi’s Redmi A5 secured the tenth spot on the list, the most affordable smartphone in the list.

Nintendo has announced a price revision for the Nintendo Switch 2 system in Canada, with the suggested retail price set to increase from CAD 629.99 to CAD 679.99 beginning September 1, 2026.

According to Nintendo, the price adjustment is due to various changes in market conditions that are expected to continue over the medium to long term. In layman’s term, the prices are increasing because of the memory shortage. (Damn you, AI!)

The company also confirmed that pricing for the current Nintendo Switch system will remain unchanged. Nintendo has acknowledged that price changes can be difficult for customers.
