iPhone 14 and 14 Plus Announced: Same processor, same design!

Apple has just unveiled their two newest smartphones in the iPhone 14 series — the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus unlike the previous generation, the iPhone 14 will not come with a mini version anymore instead, we’ll be getting a regular size one and another with the same screen size of the Pro Max version.

There’s not much change that happened on the iPhone 14 series aside from the large size as this one still comes with the same design but a more powerful camera. Aside from that, the iPhone 14 will also feature a satellite-based emergency OS that lets you call for Emergency SOS whenever you’re in an area without a cellular signal.

The iPhone 14 comes with a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 14 Plus comes with a 6.7-inch display with the Plus model claiming to offer the best battery life on any iPhone now. For the camera, they’ve upgraded the cameras with a 12MP main camera with an improvement on night mode.

However, the iPhone 14 series will come with A15 Bionic CPU inside, a processor that was used on the iPhone 13 series so if you want to get a new iPhone for better performance, it’s better to go for the iPhone 14 Pro series smartphones.

Apple has also unveiled its latest wearable device to the market and it’s the Apple Watch Series 8. This new smartwatch from Apple brings in a lot of new features including crash detection, advanced cycle tracking, temperature sensor, and a lot more.

Apple has added a lot of sensors to the Apple Watch Series 8 including a temperature sensor that can help in the cycle track which will give you more advanced readings including ovulation and if your period is not normal.

There are added sensors as well for crash detection so whenever you are bumped by a car or met in an accident, the Apple Watch Series 8 can immediately call for an SOS due to the accident. And of course, it will also include new Watch faces and bands.

The new Apple Watch SE comes with a recycled aluminum housing and it features everything that you need on a watch — a Retina OLED display, optical heart rate sensor, fall detection, emergency SOS and water resistance up to 50 meters.

It will also feature a crash detection feature that was announced on the Series 8 watch which will be 20 percent faster than the first-gen SE thanks to the S8 SIP inside the Apple Watch SE.

IDC: Cherry Mobile dominates the tablet market for Q2 2022

IDC has released the Philippines tablet market share for Q2 2022 and it seems that Cherry Mobile dominates the scene with a large 30.9% market share thanks to the LGU and different division offices of DepEd that fueled the segment. The market has also posted a 90.2% YoY increase and 89.2% QoQ with Cherry Mobile accounting for 60% of this segment.

Samsung comes in second while Lenovo comes in third while realme posted at the 4th place and Huawei came in at 5th place.

According to IDC, they anticipate more consumer and commercial segments to gain momentum through the end of the year as more vendors are entering the tablet market plus DepEd division offices and LGUs are re-ordering and procuring tablets for their continuous learning.

The Chromebooks has also been approved for use in public schools and telecommunications companies have been investing in infrastructure to support the cloud transformation journey, we might see more ChromeOS-based devices in the future.
