Infinix Hot 10S MLBB Edition Unboxing and First Impressions

Infinix has recently outed their latest addition to their family and it’s the Infinix Hot 10S and it’s one of the interesting smartphones out there due to its low price and also its bang-for-the-buck specifications and recently, the company has also unveiled the Infinix Hot 10S MLBB edition. It’s the special edition for the Infinix Hot 10S that is made for MLBB gamers in mind.

Unboxing

The box of the MLBB edition is different from the original one as this one features Chou in the box along with the logo of  Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at the top. On the side, we can Legendary which is a term used in the game.

Inside the box will give you the basic things that you need including the charger, micro USB cable, case, screen protector, and a lot more.

 

Design

The design of the smartphone is very similar to the original one but this time, we got here the MLBB logo along with the Infinix one at the back and then there’s the large LEGENDARY branding on the smartphone.

Since we got here a clear hard case on the smartphone, using the smartphone’s case will still show you the LEGENDARY branding at the back along with the mobile legends logo so you can still show it off to your friends even with the case on.

Again, everything was pretty much the same as we still got here the glossy plastic back along with the geometric pattern. There’s a fingerprint scanner at the top of the back of the smartphone too and it’s a bit unreachable for some small hands.

Below the smartphone is where you can find the micro USB port along with the headphone jack. Unfortunately, we’re still using micro USB on this and the charging is a little bit slow at 10W. As for the power button and the volume rocker, it’s located on the middle right side of the smartphone which is really accessible.

For the camera, the Infinix Hot 10S MLBB edition comes with a 48MP main camera + 2MP depth camera and another one for AI lens and for the selfie camera, we got here an 8MP selfie camera.

Display

The Infinix Hot 10S comes with a large 6.82-inch HD+ display and it might disappoint you that the smartphone only comes with HD+ resolution, this one still have a 90Hz refresh rate so you can have a better and smoother experience and also more responsive which is essential to games.

Software and performance

Inside the smartphone is a Mediatek helio G85 processor which is enough to run Mobile Legends at high settings and as for the RAM and memory, we got here a combination of 6GB RAM and 128G of internal storage. For its price of Php6,990, this is a pretty good combination.

inside the smartphone is Android 11 with a heavily skinned XOS inside. Unfortunately, there are no special skins or themes that are made on this one but at least, we’re getting here a  LEGENDARY branding at the back of the smartphone.

The Infinix Hot 10S is a smartphone made for those who want to have a budget smartphone with pretty good specifications. For MLBB players, I’m pretty sure that they’ll love the features as this one is powerful enough for the game and there’s the MLBB branding on the box and also on the smartphone.

The Infinix HOT 10S MLBB edition will be available this July 12 with an SRP of Php5,990. You can get it at Php500 off this July 12 only!

To earn a small reward, you must start a match with your Questline cards in hand. Meanwhile, when you completed all three quests, the mercenary will join your side as a powerful Legendary minion.
  • Add Tradeable cards to your deck to achieve maximum value. You can play these cards with their normal effect or drag them back in your deck for just 1 mana and draw another card that might give you better results.
  • Mount a spell onto a minion to give it a powerful buff. Once the rider is destroyed, it will summon the trusty steed.

Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 Quick Review

Recently, Lenovo has unveiled the Legion Phone Duel 2 for the Philippine market and it’s the latest gaming smartphone to arrive in the country. So what can we expect from this device? Check out our hands-on of the smartphone below.

For our hands-on, we got the black Legion Duel Phone 2 which is a prototype which is why we cannot benchmark this device.

The Legion Duel Phone 2 comes with a design that is close to the original one as the smartphone is mainly designed to be used in landscape mode but unlike before, we now have more features and things to forward to.

First, you’ll notice that the smartphone is thick which is why using a case on this one would make the smartphone uncomfortable to hold. At the back, we can also see the Legion logo of the smartphone but it’s not just that because it also comes with RGB lights.

Another unique feature of the smartphone is that it comes with a fan at the back which is probably the reason why the middle part of the back of the smartphone is thicker than I expected but it also adds to the grip of the smartphone.

There are shoulder buttons too and unlike the previous generation, we now have an L2 and R2 button on the smartphone which gives us more options and it’s very useful for emulators as previous consoles feature quad shoulder buttons on their controllers.

As for the ports, this one still supports 90W Charging and we still have here a USB-C port below and also on the side which means that we can charge the smartphone with two USB-C cables. Unfortunately, 3.5mm audio jack is still missing on this one so we have to rely on the USB-C port for your wired earphones.

For the display, we got here a large 6.92-inch AMOLED display and it comes with 120Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate with HDR10+. The display is very responsive and it’s really bright. The colors are just good and it’s really responsive when playing games. For my hands, the 6.92-inch is big enough for different games whether that’s PUBG, Wild Rift, or Genshin Impact.

At the back, there’s the camera of the smartphone and it comes with a 64MP main camera and a 16MP ultrawide camera. Just like the original one, the Legion Duel Phone 2 comes with a pop-up 44MP camera. Well, the quality isn’t the best one in the market and you can find some shots a little soft especially at low light on both the rear and front cameras of the smartphone. But again, this is just an engineering unit of the smartphone.

But of course, the smartphone comes with a feature in where you can stream directly from your smartphone and it has improved even further as you can remove the background even without a green screen or you can use emojis as your character.

There’s the rampage mode in where it boosts the CPU and GPU of the smartphone which helps in improving the resources and performance even more. Speaking of CPU, the smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 888 CPU and it goves up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Unfortunately, we’re using an engineering unit of the smartphone so we cannot benchmark it but it does come with a 5500mAh battery and you can fully charge the smartphone in just minutes.

Overall, the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 got almost everything that we need on a gaming smartphone. We got a powerful hardware inside, a built-in fan which cools down the smartphone and of course, the trigger buttons. It might not have a headphone jack but it’s powerful enough for mobile gamers.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 starts at a price of Php39,995 for the 12GB/256GB variant and Php49,995 for the 16GB/512GB variant.

Samsung concluded this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) as the brand won the Best Smartphone category at the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO Awards).

In case you missed it, the annual GLOMO Awards recognize the best hardware, software, and services that level up the mobile experience of consumers through the latest technologies.

So, it was an honor for Samsung to bring home the most sought-after award.

“The best Android smartphone Samsung has ever made with a great range of features, stunning AMOLED display, best-in-class cameras and more—this phone delivers across the board and is a worthy winner of Best Smartphones in 2021,” the category judges explained about the Galaxy S2 Ultra 5G.

The ASUS ROG Phone 5 is the latest gaming smartphone from the company and it might feature the same design language of the ROG but the smartphone does feature a lot of changes including more powerful hardware and a different approach to its accessories. ASUS ROG Phone 5 Review: Design and hardware

The design of the ASUS ROG Phone 5 is now different from the previous generations compared to its predecessor.  Well, it still has the gaming feel that’s definitely a signature of ROG products especially their newer ROG notebooks like the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14.

The back of the smartphone is made up of glass and the design at the back looks cleaner for me and of course, there’s the ROG logo at the back of the smartphone with a similar look to the AniME LED Matrix of their notebooks. But in case you’re getting the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate or the ROG Phone 5 Pro, you’ll have a different look at the back as those smartphones will pack a rear OLED display that you can customize and can also be used for notifications.

As for the ports, this one comes with a different approach for its ports and also for its accessories. The smartphone still comes with a fast-charging inside but it’s way faster as the ASUS ROG Phone 5 now supports 65W charging.

For the ports, it comes with two USB-C port with one below and one on the side which means that the ports for accessories has been changed and it relies on POGO ports for the AeroActive Cooler on the smartphone. But hey, at least we now have here a 3.5mm headphone jack on the smartphone and we don’t need the AeroActive cooler anymore for the port.

Speaking of the AeroActive Cooler on the ASUS ROG Phone 5, it’s way better than before because not only that this one comes with the fan that really brings down the temps of the smartphone but it also comes with a trigger at the back of the smartphone which is perfect for playing emulators on the ROG Phone 5 and of course, there’s the stand so you can watch Netflix videos on the smartphone without holding it anymore.

As for the air triggers or the shoulder buttons of the smartphone, you can customize it for different games and map it and depending on what you want. In my case, I’m using it for my emulators including Damon PS2.

The audio of the smartphone is excellent. We got here a front-facing stereo on the smartphone and boy, it was perfect whether I’m watching a movie on the smartphone or I’m playing games such as PUBG Mobile. It’s so immersive playing games on the smartphone.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Review: Display

Having an excellent display is essential for gaming smartphones and with the ASUS ROG Phone 5, we have here a Samsung AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The display also features an adaptive display in where the ROG Phone 5 automatically adjusts the refresh rate depending on what you need on the smartphone.

The colors are great and it’s very responsive in my usage. I actually enjoyed using this for gaming on the smartphone but it’s not a big leap from the previous 120Hz refresh rate of the smartphones and there are only a few games and apps that supports this but hey, it’s nice to see this feature on the smartphone.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Review: Battery life

The ASUS ROG Phone 5 comes with a 6000mAh battery which can last pretty long on the smartphone but the best part about the smartphone is that the ASUS ROG Phone 5 now supports 65W fast charging which gives us really fast charging on the smartphone and in PC Mark Work 2.0 battery test, we just saw an up to 18 hours and 49 minutes which is really amazing.

The ASUS ROG Phone 5 is surely a performer as this one packs the powerful Snapdragon 888 processor along with the 8GB of RAM for our variant. In our test, we noticed that the ASUS ROG phone 5 didn’t escape the heating problems of the Snapdragon 888 chipset but thanks to the AeroActive Cooler of the smartphone, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 did manage to have cooler temps compared to other smartphones.

When it comes to benchmarks, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 destroyed the competition as we got here really high scores in every benchmarking application that we’ve used.

As for gaming, we didn’t have a single problem with any of the games that we tried on the smartphone. We even ran Genshin Impact and we didn’t saw a drop in framerates when using the smartphone. We were also able to use a PS2 emulator on this one smoothly thanks to Damon PS2.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Review: Camera

The camera is actually surprisingly good on the smartphone. First, we got here a 64MP main camera along with a 13MP ultrawide camera and also the 5MP macro lens on the smartphone and for the selfies, there’s the 24MP selfie camera. The rear camera of the smartphone produces good colors and it’s pretty sharp. It can actually compete with other flagship smartphones in the market right now in terms of quality as the smartphone can shoot pretty good photos whether we’re in low light or in well-lit conditions. ASUS ROG Phone 5 Review: Verdict

The ASUS ROG Phone 5 added more power and features for gaming but it’s still not a perfect smartphone. While the AeroActive Cooler might help in the temps of the smartphone, the Snapdragon 888 chipset is noticeably hot on all smartphones and as for the AeroActive Cooler itself, I still prefer the ones that with an adjustable clip instead of what we have right now in this generation as I might accidentally bend the POGO pins on the smartphone.

Nonetheless, the other things about the smartphone is really great. The display is great, battery life is long, the performance was good, the camera was excellent and the look of the smartphone is cleaner and better.

So if you’re looking for a gaming smartphone right now, you might want to take a look at this but if you’re coming from an ASUS ROG Phone 3, well, I still believe that the predecessor is still a great smartphone and you don’t have to upgrade for this one.
