LG 34WL85C Ultrawide Monitor Review

0

In this pandemic, we want to be more productive at home and in order to do that we need the best tools for our work and in our case who are working at home, we need the best monitor for our productivity and if you’re like me who loves creating videos and playing at home then you better check out this ultrawide monitor of LG that is made for productivity, the LG UltraWide 34WL85C monitor

This is an ultrawide monitor and if you’re not familiar with it, you have a wider monitor which gives you a larger view of content on the display which is perfect for those people who loves watching movies on 21:9 or for those people who are working on a timeline workspace like video editing and of course, you can have a wider view of windows side by side.

You see, working on an ultrawide display does really help in our workflow because aside from the wide view of the display of the monitor, we also got here a build quality that is perfect for those people who are working at home.

We got here a minimalist design that makes it really attractive for people who wants to use it at their office and offers a black color all over the body and it doesn’t come in with cheap quality. It’s sturdy and it comes with a half arc stand that gives a minimalist and premium look on the monitor.

Not only that, you can also adjust the stand of the LG 34WL85C which let you tilt the display and also raise and lower the display which is really helpful if I want to improve my posture when using the monitor. It also improves our flexibility when using the monitor.

In case you want to use other monitor stands, it’s possible thanks to the VESA mount at the back of the monitor. You just have to remove the monitor stand of the monitor and attach your preferred stand to the VESA mount.

There’s the 7W speaker too which works just fine but of course, it will still be better if you have external speakers aside from the one on your monitor.

As for the ports, this one comes with DP1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 3x USB 3.0 slots for accessories, and a headphone jack. IMO, the ports of this one are already enough, and using the DP1.4 just gives me a better look on the display.

For the controls, there’s the six-axis joystick and IMO, this one is quite easy to use and very user friendly as I don’t need to look for buttons at night as the joystick is the easiest way to navigate through the UI of the monitor’s settings.

As for the display quality, the one that we’re getting on the LG monitor is superb. We got here a 34-inch ultrawide IPS panel with a resolution of 3440×1440 and it does support HDR10 and then we got here a brightness of 300 cd/m2 that looks just fine for me. There’s the refresh rate of 60Hz and also a 5ms response time which isn’t the best in the market but this will do just fine if you’re not a heavy gamer and more of a content creator. The viewing angles are fine too and the color reproduction on this one is excellent.

If you are a content creator or if you are using your PC mostly for work then the he 34-inch LG 34WL85C monitor might be the right one for you. We got here a 1440p resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio which is perfect for productivity and then there’s the adjustable stand too which

The LG 34WL85C is now available and it retails for Php45,999.

You can get it at Lazada 11.11 for only Php37,748.

Upgrading with Kingston : Kingston KC600 512GB Review

0

M.2 SSD has become quite the staple nowadays for PC builds but  SATA SSDs are still quite relevant. Many known manufacturers like Kingston still produce then and today, we have an encrypted high-performance SSD that keeps your data protected – The Kingston KC600 512 SATA SSD.

The KC600 is available in four capacities: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB utilizing a Silicon Motion Sm2259 controller and Micron 96-layer 3D TLC NAND giving us speeds of up to 550MB/s sequential reads and 520MB/s sequential writes.

[table id=12 /]

The Kingston KC600 comes in their usual plastic packaging like most of the recent Kingston SSDs in the market. As for what’s inside, you will only find the KC600 SSD. They opted to remove freebies like the Acronis True Image HD Hard Drive cloning app product key that comes with models like the A2000.

The SSD itself is in a 2.5″ form factor metal enclosure with about 7mm height which is the standard for most SATA SSDs.

SOFTWARE

The Kingston KC600 utilizes Kingston’s own SSD management software, the Kingston SSD Manager allowing users to perform firmware updates for the SSD, access security features and monitor health easily.

Performance Testing

AS SSD Benchmark

AS SSD benchmark gives a variety of results. There are now three tests that are found within the tool.

CrystalDiskMark

With our Crystal DiskMark, this replicates best-case, straight-line transfers of large files. This benchmark supports Native Command Queueing (NCQ) with a queue depth of 32 and represents the highest score of five runs.

ATTO Benchmark

ATTO being one of the longest drive benchmarks used until today is still relevant in the SSD market. ATTO gives an idea of transfer across a specific volume length. This test was done with default runs.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities

Anvil Storage Utilities is one of the most used storage benchmarking tool. Testing from read and writes speeds to IOPS with various tweaks allowing multiple capabilities.

PC MARK 8

With the PCMark 8’s Storage test, this synthetic benchmark replicates everyday disk access like photo editing and web browsing. The variations on this test regarding PCIe drives are quite small.

 CONCLUSION

When we talk about performance, we have to really can’t say anything about the Kingston KC600 as it delivered the expected results without any hitches during the tests we’ve done. It may not be the fastest SSD in the market but it gets the job done at a very affordable price. This same SSD can also be utilized for various notebooks in the market.

It would most likely be new PC builders or notebook upgrades that would want to upgrade from the usual mechanical drives or lower capacity SSD to faster read and write speeds. The KC600 is also suitable for content creators who want to upgrade from mechanical drives. For a price of ₱3,995.00, it is already a decent upgrade for a 512GB SSD.

The results of the AMD Ryzen 7 5600x with Sapphire’s Radeon RX5700 XT gives us a comprehensive idea of what performances their new processors would be able to perform under heavy computing graphics.

Price and Value

Despite the raise in price premium, AMD has definitely brought a lot to the table showcasing a difference even on their motherboards making the B550 the new mainstream purchase as opposed to being a budget/entry-level SKU. Even at six-cores, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x changes the game and brings a whole different gaming experience.
