Ainol Novo 7 Elf Specifications, Reviews and Price in the Philippines

Ainol 7 Paladin has been known as one of the cheapest ICS tablet at Widget City. But if you feel that the specifications of the Ainol 7 Paladin is still lacking and needs some improvement then I think that the Ainol 7 Elf is the one for you.  Why?, because this tablet has a better resolution and a faster processor compared to the Paladin. Luckily, Widget City is now offering the Ainol 7 Elf.  So what’s inside the tablet?. Inside this is a Allwinner A10 1.2GHz Cortex A8 Processor and a Mali-400 GPU, a jump from the 1.0 ghz of the Ainol 7 Paladin. The Mali-400 was also use in the Samsung Galaxy S II which is quite fast and can handle some graphic-heavy applications. (GPUs are used to have a smoother 3D games such as Asphalt 5 and many more)

It has the same 7″ screen but this one has a bigger resolution. The Ainol 7 Elf will have a resolution of 1024 x 600 (same with the original Samsung Galaxy Tab) compared to the 800 x 480 resolution of the Ainol 7 Paladin. 800 x 480 is kinda small for a tablet because most midrange and high end smartphones today use a 800 x 480 resolution and some of them, even bigger than that (1280×800 like the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus). Multi-touch? don’t worry because compared to other resistive tablets that you see in some stalls, this tablet uses a 7″ capacitive screen. So what’s with the multi-touch?, when you have this, that screen can recognize more than 1 finger. For this tablet, it can recognize up to 5 fingers. And you know what? this tablet is using the latest Google Android OS, the Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich. 
Some of you are disappointed with the Ainol Novo 7 Paladin because that tablet doesn’t have a camera for video calling services like Skype and Qik. But in Ainol Elf tablet, you’ll have a 2.0 megapixel front camera. Too bad it doesn’t have a rear camera but hey, at least for a tablet below P10,000 you’ll have a tablet like this!. Some other features that you might want are HDMI, So what’s the price?. According to Widget City Hub, their official facebook page. The Ainol Novo 7 Elf will start at P7,850. My opinion? For its specifications, I think this tablet is a bargain. If you want a tablet that won’t hurt your pocket then I recommend this one. Oh and The Technoclast said that the Ainol Novo 7 Paladin is quite solid, I think this one is solid too.

Who’s excited for the sequel of one of the most successful zombie game in the industry?. Resident evil 6 debut trailer was recently revealed a few days ago. It revealed some old like Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and so much more. Oh and new characters are revealed too like the guy who has a scar on his face and his blood is probably the answer to the T-virus infection vaccine (maybe he is related to Albert Wesker). In the video, it was also revealed that the commander in chief or the president of the US of A was also infected. Meeh, too bad for the United States. Anyway, to know more about the resident evil 6. The Nokia Lumia 800 w/ the Nokia Collection
A few days ago, I finally received the review unit of the most awaited phone of Nokia, the Nokia Lumia 800. As of this posting, the Nokia Lumia 800 hasn’t been release yet in the Philippines so it means that we’re one of the lucky guys to review and get a hands-on of it.

 Anyway, the Nokia Lumia is dubbed as the “first real windows phone” and I don’t have any idea why Stephen Elop said that. If the looks look familiar to you maybe you already saw the Meego OS equipped Nokia N9. It is currently available here in the Philippines and it just looks like the same with the Nokia Lumia 800. Both are made by polycarbonate so the feel is just the same with the Nokia N9. Too bad the Nokia Lumia 800 has a smaller screen compared to the Nokia N9. The Lumia has a 3.7″ while the latter has 3.9″ but both of them sports a Clearblack AMOLED display. In this display, the blacks are really black so you barely see the edges of the screen especially when you use the black theme on the Windows Phone.

The device is run by a 1.4 ghz single core processor which is quite enough for a Windows Phone.  A Windows Phone 7 device doesn’t need a dual core processor in order to be fluid. The camera is powered by a 8 megaepixel Carl Zeiss camera and along with it is a dual LED flash too bad this phone doesn’t have a front facing camera for video call service. Anyway, if you want to have this phone but you don’t have a micro sim, I think you might want to cut it off or just buy one because this phone requires a Micro Sim just like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s.
The look and the feel of this phone is just like the Nokia N9. There are only minor differences between the two like the screen size, some buttons, and a front facing camera. The 8 megapixel was great for a phone but the 720p video recording is kinda behind compared to the 1080p video recording of the iPhone 4s and some Android devices. But hey, our videos here at JAM Online are 720p at max!, we don’t use 1080p here!. The clearblack AMOLED display with curved gorilla glass was great, the colors are vivid and I can barely see the edges of the screen when the background is black. The 1.4 ghz processor with the 512 mb RAM is already enough for a Windows phone. It is already fast and smooth just like what I told you earlier. By the way, you can’t expand its memory but inside this phone is a 16 GB memory.
Overall, the Nokia Lumia 800 is great. Dual core processors is not needed on this because the phone is already fast and incredible. It is available in Cyan, Black and Magenta. But the question still remains. Can this revive the ailing Nokia?. Time will tell my friends.

Last night, theindifferentmasochist name became known especially among UST students. Why?, because she posted about how stupid UST is. And I completely disagree with all the things that she said. She told in her blog post that the people who passed UST are stupid. Well,  because of that bashing. She received a lot of hate messages from different students from different universities. Even though we have a freedom of speech, We shouldn’t abuse it like what theindifferentmasochist did. We can’t confirm if she’s really the one who posted that or someone just hack or used her pictures. As of this posting, her tumblr account is deleted. And according to some comments in Facebook, all of her Social networking accounts are deleted. We don’t know if it is because of guilt or someone just used her account. I guess this will be a lesson to all.

The long rumored big brother of the Nokia Lumia 800 has been announced. According to Stephen Elop, this device is created for the US Market. It has a 4.3″ Clearblack AMOLED Display. It is powered by 1.4 GHz processor (Probably single core), LTE and it is available in Cyan and Black. The camera? there are two cameras. On the rear it is equipped with 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens w/ f/2.2 while the front has f/2.4 aperture.

Last year, Sony bought the remaining stake of Ericsson so it means that the Ericsson name in the Sony Ericsson will be gone. And today, AT&T a carrier in the USA just announce a Sony phone — The Sony Xperia Ion. It is the first device from Sony without the Ericsson branding but they still retain the “Xperia” name for their phones. Anyway, the Sony Xperia Ion will be run by Android 2.3 but will be upgraded to Android 4.0 soon). It has a 4.6″ 720p display w/ Mobile Bravia engine, 12 megapixel Exmor-R camera, Front facing camera, NFC and LTE. Too bad, we haven’t see the Sony Xperia Arc HD just yet.

This January, a lot of new and exciting gadgets will be announced. Just like what I told you before, Vegas will be barraged by Ultrabooks. And here it is, Acer just announced the thinnest ultrabook in the market, the Acer Aspire S5. It is a 13″ ultrabook that is expected to take on the Macbook Air. I think the one powering this device is the latest Ivy Bridge processor from Intel which will be announce soon enough. Surprisingly there is a thunderbolt port in the laptop along with the HDMI and USB Ports.

Vizio Ultrabook is one of the sexiest ultrabook I’ve seen

This CES 2012, Ultrabooks will barrage Vegas. It is expected that the future of laptops will be Ultrabooks  and the netbooks will soon be forgotten by the world. But I think that’s not the case in the Philippines because we Filipinos still prefer an affordable laptop oh and sometimes, a small and portable one. Anyway, there are a lot of ultrabooks that were already released like the Acer Aspire S3, Lenovo U300s and many more. We won’t see this ultrabook until CES 2012 but we obviously, we can see that there will be 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and Audio out. I can’t say much about the ultrabook because it isn’t announced yet but it looks awesome, sexy and thin. I hope that they’ll use the latest Ivy Bridge processor for this. Let’s just wait for the CES 2012 friends.
