The Nothing Phone (2) is the 2nd generation smartphone from the company and just like before, it features a unique design as it comes with a transparent back and also a brand new Glyph Interface at the back which separates the smartphone among the pack in the industry. But is it a worthy upgrade? Well, here’s our first impressions
A unique Glyph Interface
The biggest and most unique thing of the Nothing Phone (2) is its design. It’s one of the best-looking smartphones out there especially if you’re a fan of see through back design of the smartphone and unlike other smartphones, this one looks cleaner and a lot better.
But the thing that makes this smartphone unique is the Glyph Interface and honestly, we really like how they approach to this one as the Nothing Phone (2) now features more Glyphs at the back which now supports third party integration and other apps as well.
A slight aesthetic change
There are slight changes on the smartphone. But first, let me just tell you that the dual lens camera of the smartphone looks perfect with that glyph and then there’s the flat sides as well along with a flat display.
Going back to the changes, the major aesthetic change that I felt on the smartphone is that the Nothing Phone (2) packs a slightly curved back and honestly, it barely improved the ergonomics of the smartphone. Below, there’s the USB-C port and also the speaker grill and card tray.
On the front, the smartphone does still look beautiful with that UI but this time, the selfie camera of the smartphone is moved to the middle of the 6.7″ OLED FHD+ display.
Just a beautiful and unique UI
The Nothing OS 2.0 is one of the best skin that I’ve seen on a smartphone as the UI of the Nothing Phone (2) pairs perfectly to the hardware design of the smartphone. It also comes with widgets and other customizations so you can have a home screen that looks perfect on the smartphone.
Better hardware inside
As for the hardware inside, the Nothing Phone (2) now comes with a way more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor inside along with an up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It might not be the best processor out there in the market but boy, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is still one of the best and most powerful processor that you can get on a smartphone and games would just be a piece of cake on this one.
When it comes to the camera department, the Nothing Phone (2) packs a better camera thanks to the 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide camera setup unfortunately, only two rear lenses here on the smartphone and then there’s the 32MP Selfie camera.
Overall, the Nothing Phone (2) now has a more interesting hardware inside as this one uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series chipset and of course, there’s a better hardware overall as well. The main selling point of the smartphone is the Glyph Interface and it’s unique and we do love that feature on the smartphone.
If you want a smartphone that really stands out that packs a pretty decent premium hardware then the Nothing Phone (2) might be an interesting choice for you.
The Nothing Phone (2) comes in dark gray and white and it starts at Php38,990 for the 12GB/256GB variant and Php44,990 for the 12GB/512GB variant.
