Smart 5G now available in Baguio and Cagayan de Oro

Having the greatest number of 5G sites in the Philippines, the telco giant proved its commitment to provide mobile users with faster and better network speeds.

To date, Smart has existing sites in all the cities and municipalities of Metro Manila, and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, Cebu, Iloilo, Aklan, and Davao.

And just recently, the network provider has fired up its newest 5G sites in Benguet, Misamis Oriental, and Zamboanga Sibugay.

The company has invested a huge part of its budget in rolling out more 5G sites over the past years. In fact, these initiatives form a large part of PLDT’s investment, amounting to Php286.2 billion from 2016 to 2020.

PLDT and Smart also announced that they are now set to invest between Php88 billion and Php92 billion in capital expenditures this year to ramp up their 5G rollout and upgrade the digital experience of their valued subscribers.

However, for PLDT and Smart, 5G is just the beginning of a new digital era.

“As we expand our 5G network presence across the country, we are also bringing the possibilities of 5G, such as faster speeds and lower latency for streaming high-resolution videos and playing online mobile games, closer to more Filipinos. Through this, we are also opening the doors to more possibilities of 5G that we have yet to imagine,” Mario G. Tamayo, Head of Technology for PLDT and Smart, addressed.

As part of Smart’s plan to maximize their 5G network, the company launched well-thought Smart Signature 5G plans, which offer more data than their conventional promos. The plans have a Data Rollover feature, too, allowing users to carry their unused data allocation over to the following month.

Smart has also teamed up with smartphone brands, such as Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, vivo, and realme to offer more 5G devices to its loyal subscribers.

Great news, isn’t it?
