Xiaomi has officially unveiled its newest flagship foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold.
The debut arrives just two days ahead of Apple’s September 9 keynote, where Apple is anticipated to showcase its first foldable iPhone.
Passport-Style Form Factor and Dragon Bone Hinge 2.0
The Xiaomi 18 Fold adopts a wider passport-inspired profile similar to the iPhone Ultra and also the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.
On the front, the phone features a 5.38-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 4,000 nits peak brightness.
Unfolding the handset reveals a 7.58-inch LTPO OLED folding display that delivers an optimal surface for dual-app split-screen.
To elevate long-term durability, Xiaomi introduced the Dragon Bone Hinge 2.0 featuring 492 structural optimizations.
The upgraded mechanical assembly reduces internal display crease visibility while enhancing shock absorption against accidental drops.
Custom 3nm XRing O3 Silicon and HyperOS 3 Experience
Powering the Xiaomi 18 Fold is Xiaomi’s proprietary in-house 3nm processor, the XRing O3 silicon.
The foldable pairs with up to 16GB of high-speed RAM and generous onboard storage options reaching up to 1TB.
Operating duties are handled by Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 17
Supplying power is a large 6,000mAh battery architecture equipped with rapid wired fast charging alongside high-speed wireless charging support.
200MP Leica Summilux Optics and Limited Ceramic Edition
On the imaging side, the device houses a Leica co-engineered triple camera array positioned horizontally on the rear panel.
The camera system is spearheaded by a 200MP primary sensor with Leica Summilux optical lenses for high optical fidelity in low-light environments.
It is complemented by a high-resolution ultra-wide sensor and a dedicated periscope telephoto camera for versatile focal lengths.
Alongside classic Black, White, and Nishino Red colorways, Xiaomi announced an exclusive Ceramic Special Edition limited to just 1,500 units worldwide.
