realme 11 Pro+ 5G Hands-on & First Impressions

The latest smartphone from realme is here and they pack some of the features that we’ve been looking for on a midrange smartphone — a powerful 200MP main camera and of course a leap in design with its vegan leather back.

The sexiest realme N phone

The realme 11 Pro+ 5G is the sexiest realme number smartphone that we’ve ever seen from the brand as it features a very unique design that we haven’t seen before on realme smartphones. It features a vegan leather back and it comes with a line in the middle that adds personality to the smartphone.

It’s very ergonomic as well as the curves are just perfect on the sides and holding it was very comfortable as well as it comes with light materials. On the front, there’s the curved glass as well and it does look really nice to look at.

While the frame of the smartphone is made of plastic, it still feels solid. Below, we can find here the USB-C port along with the SIM card tray and as expected, there’s no headphone jack on this smartphone. We also have dual speakers which are quite immersive as they are loud on both gaming and also for watching videos.

Another cool feature of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is the support for 100W SUPERVOOC Flash Charging. And yes, I can fully charge the smartphone in just a few minutes. It’s amazingly fast.

Fine display

As expected, the display of the smartphone is really nice. We got here a 120Hz Curved OLED display and also a full HD+ resolution. It’s beautiful and responsive as well whether you want it to look at photos, watch videos, or even for gaming. The realme 11 Pro+ 5G’s display will do just fine.

Large memory

One of the things that I love about it is the large memory of the smartphone. There’s 12GB of RAM on the smartphone along with 512GB of internal storage. This makes the smartphone one of the midrangers to pack a pretty large memory inside.

The RAM is more than enough but you can even expand it to 24GB if you want to. While the 512GB of memory is something that I really appreciate as I can install more games, apps, and even emulators on the smartphone without any problems with storage.

A decent power

For the processing power, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G comes with a Dimensity 7050 chipset from MediaTek while it’s powerful enough for most games and apps, this one falls below Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. Nonetheless, it was powerful enough for a daily usage and even on the latest games on mid settings.

The 200MP Camera

One of the highlights of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is the 200MP main camera with a dedicated Hi-Res tab on the camera app. This gives you a resolution of 16320 x 122402 photo which is one of the biggest that you can get on a smartphone. It also comes with OIS for a steadier photo and video. While the 200MP camera might sound amazing, you might rarely use but it was useful for taking photos for objects that are afar.

While in our other shots, we pretty much liked what we got on the smartphone. They’re crisp and they’re pretty good but I noticed that the colors are on the warmer side. It isn’t bad as the shots were still good and again, they’re pretty crisp.

Verdict

So far, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G does give us a pretty good impression about the smartphone especially when it comes to the camera. The design is definitely unique and I really liked that they choosed vegan leather for this as it gives out a premium vibe on the smartphone. While the Dimensity 7050 chipset of the smartphone might not be the most powerful one, it’s decent enough for everyday use.

Looks like we’ll be seeing the OPPO Find N3 Flip soon enough as OPPO’s weibo account has announced that the new generation of foldable flip device from the company will be unveiled this August 29.

We can expect that the OPPO Find N3 Flip from the launch and from the looks of the early renders, the OPPO N3 Flip will sport the HASSELBLAD branding for its camera and also a new triple camera setup with the same large vertical display on the clamshell body of the smartphone.

While the details are still scarce but we can expect the device by the end of the month

Playstation Portal is a handheld device made for Remote Play, to launch for $200

PlayStation has finally made it official — the Project Q is officially named as Playstation Portal and unlike most handhelds in the market right now including Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally, this one is made to be a companion for your PS5.

It’s a Remote Play Device

There will be no exclusive games on this one as the PlayStation Portal is specifically made to play Remote Play via Wi-Fi. Yes, you still need to have your PS5 connected to your network in order to play games on this device. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stream your PlayStation Plus Premium games if your country supports Playstation Cloud Streaming.

PlayStation Portal Hardware

The device comes with an 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1080p and a 60hz refresh rate. It’s bigger than most gaming handhelds and this one will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and also a USB-C so you can charge it while playing.

You’ll also get to enjoy DualSense adaptive triggers and also haptic feedback so it really feels like you’re really immerse to your PS5.

The PlayStation Portal Remote Player will launch this year for USD 200. No word yet regarding local availability.

Fresh details have emerged about Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2400 chipset, suggesting that the Galaxy S24 lineup could feature this powerhouse processor. The Exynos 2400 is expected to elevate performance with its refined 4nm manufacturing process, set to grace the hands of users in Europe, Africa, and select Asian countries.

A 10-Core Configuration

AnTuTu’s Chinese platform has revealed a glimpse into the inner workings of the Exynos 2400, revealing its intriguing 10-core CPU configuration. The architecture also comprises a distinctive 1+2+3+4 setup, boasting an ensemble of Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720, and Cortex-A520 cores. The Cortex-X4 core is set to lead the pack, clocking in at an impressive 3.1 GHz. Paired with it are two clusters of Cortex-A720 cores, ticking at 2.9 GHz and 3x Cortex-A720 cores humming at 2.6 GHz. Handling lighter tasks, the 4x Cortex-A520 cores are geared at 1.8 GHz. A common thread across these cores is the foundation on ARMv9 architecture.

The Xclipse 940 GPU

Notably, the Exynos 2400’s graphical prowess is set to witness a significant boost with its advanced Xclipse 940 GPU. This new iteration doubles the graphics compute units, incorporating AMD’s RDNA 2 technology. Google Play Pass has just arrived in the Philippines and in case you’re not familiar with it, it’s a subscription-based service that lets you access to a thousands of premium games and apps for a small amount of Php109/month fee. This is pretty much how Netflix works but this one is for games and apps.

The Play Pass catalog comes with popular titles including Stardew Valley, Limbo, Monument Valley, Worms 2: armageddon, Goat Simulator and many more. Basically, it lets you play multiple paid games but this time, it’s on a subscription basis.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, has just announced that threads, which is known as X (formerly Twitter) killer, will launch their web version this week.

Threads was one of the hottest social media platform as they registered up to a 100 million users within a week however, the users significantly dropped after its peak. Now, Meta wants their users to come back to the platform by launching the web version of Threads.

This means that users can now finally access threads thru any browser including desktop and laptop users. This will make Threads more accessible to everyone.

Powered by advanced AI technology and data-driven insights, Whoscall boasts a substantial database of over 2.6 billion entries. This resource enables the app to not only detect unknown callers but also identify and prevent spam, scam calls, text messages, and potentially harmful URLs.

Whoscall also extends its capabilities beyond detection and blocking. It equips users with the ability to report suspicious numbers, fostering a community-driven approach to tackling digital threats head-on.

Gogolook’s Inspiration

Gogolook, the Taiwan-based firm behind Whoscall, shared what inspired them to launch the app. “As fraud became more apparent during and after the pandemic, we saw how Filipinos have suffered losses from scams, much like in other countries where we have launched Whoscall, such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan. This reality ignited our drive to create a comprehensive life protection platform accessible to every Filipino across the nation,” said Manwoo Joo, Chief Operating Officer of Gogolook.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Barrios, the Country Marketing Head for the Philippines, underlined Whoscall’s extensive presence and success in various Asian markets. As the app enters the Philippines, Barrios also encourages users to unite in safeguarding themselves and their loved ones from potential digital risks and scams.
