IDC: Acer leads the Philippine PC Market for 2022 Q3

IDC has released the 2022 Q3 unit market share for the PC market and it seems that the Philippines continued to slump as the market has declined 19.8% YoY and 11% QoQ with 565,000 units in Q3 2022 according to IDC.

According to IDC, the $600<$1000 (Php33,300~<Php55,500~) market remains the popular price point in the Philippines.

According to the latest data from IDC, the Acer group leads the PH Market with 22.9% market share followed by Lenovo at 19.8% while the 3rd placer goes to HP. ASUS takes the 4th place with 12.4% market share while Dell got the fifth place at 8.7% market share

Peugeot distributor Astara Philippines added GAC Motor to its growing automotive distributorship portfolio.

The partnership between GAC Motor and Astara Philippines strengthens the latter’s momentum as it enters its second year of operations in the country. To mark this milestone, the brand announced that it will launch Empow and the All-New GS8 SUV on the Philippine road in January 2023.

Moreover, Astara Philippines revealed that it would announce six new dealer locations in key cities to offer GAC Motor. This move is part of their effort to make GAC Motor a top contender among mainstream auto brands.

“We are truly honored to continue GAC Motor’s journey as their new partner in the Philippines. With Astara’s global strength and track record in car distribution and mobility services, we are confident that we can take GAC Motor to greater heights as we have done in Latin America,” said Picello.

ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED Now Available in the Philippines

ASUS Philippines has finally launched the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED in the Philippines. It’s the world’s first foldable notebook with a 17.3-inch foldable OLED display. This foldable display lets you do up to six modes that lets you be flexible with the device.

With the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, you’ll be able to use it in Desktop mode, laptop mode, tablet mode, reader mode, and extended mode. This is possible thanks to the Bluetooth keyboard of the device.

With its large 4:3 17.3-inch 2.5K NanoEdge touchscreen display, you can use it in laptop mode with 12.5″ display and 1920×1080 resolution thanks to its 180-degree hinge.

IDC: PH Tablet market slowed down for Q3 2022

Samsung just made it to the #1 spot in the Philippines tablet market for Q3 2022 according to IDC Philippines. IDC Philippines has also posted that the Philippines tablet market has declined 11.6% Quarter-on-quarter in 3Q22 and it was almost flat compared to last year according to them.

“The education segment has been the driver for the tablet market’s growth since blended learning was implemented among schools in the Philippines. But it declined by 47.8% QoQ and 42.4% Year-on-Year (YoY) as more schools, both public and private, returned to physical classes as part of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) expansion of face-to-face classes,” said Angela Medez, Senior Market Analyst at IDC Philippines.

Samsung has the biggest market share at 43.5% market share thanks to their top-selling Galaxy Tab A7 Lite which accounted 80% of their shipments.

Despite the return of most schools to physical classes, Cherry Mobile still managed the third spot while realme captured the 2nd spot which isn’t surprising as their tablet lineup has started to grow. While Huawei got the 4th spot and Lenovo for the 5th spot.
