SM North Edsa Leaks PS5 PH Price; Starts at Php 24,200

0

Other countries have already unveiled their respective local pricing for the PS5 with some coming close to the US SRP and others get as much as 50% more due to customs and taxes. The Philippines usually dances in between but it looks like PH draws closer to the US SRP line thanks to a leak by SM. That’s right, SM specifically SM North Edsa posted the price of the much-awaited PlayStation 5.

SM North Edsa PS5 Price PH Leak

Last October 19, 2020, SM City North Edsa’s Facebook page posted a “12 weeks of Holiday Gift Ideas” album which contained the now-deleted PlayStation 5 price photo. Apparently, the PlayStation 5 will retail for “around P24,200” at the PlayStation Specialized Store located at the 4th Level of SM North Edsa’s Annex. While it isn’t specified which model will cost at P24,200, the stock photo used appears to be the disc variant or the standard edition. Moreover, the PlayStation Specialized Store is owned by iTech meaning that the P24,200 price that SM North Edsa posted might be the country’s official SRP.

While the Php 24,200 PS5 PH price might seem “too good to true”, it’s worth noting that this is probably the price of the console itself. Like the previous PlayStation releases, a PS5 and game bundle should set you anywhere between Php 27,500 to Php 28,500.

Playstation 5 price PS5 price ps5 ph price playstation 5 ph price PS5 price PH

JamOnline Says: While we should take all leaks with a grain of salt, Php 25,000 is a good amount to set aside if you’re looking to buy a PS5. We should expect the same global launch date of November 19, 2020, for the Philippine release of the upcoming PlayStation 5.

0

The iPhone 12 Pro was just announced a few days ago and Apple fans in the country are excited for the next iPhone 12 series which is expected to arrive in the Philippines anytime soon. Some of the highlighted features in the iPhone 12 series is 5G and of course the upgraded camera with the Pro series featuring the best cameras on an iPhone, ever.

Weirdly, the battery life of the iPhone 12 series weren’t announced at the event but thankfully, we can see the battery of the smartphones with the iPhone 11 Pro rocking an up to 18 hours of video playback while the iPhone 12 Pro featuring a 17 hours of video playback.

Wait, What?!

Yep, the iPhone 12 Pro features a shorter a battery life by 1 hour which is the same battery life of the iPhone 11. 1 hour wouldn’t really make that much difference compared to other people but it’s interesting to see that the battery life of the smartphones didn’t got an upgrade this year. One of the possible reasons why we’re getting a shorter battery life is the presence of 5G on the new iPhone 12 series which will consume more power on the smartphone.

The iPhone 12 series is expected to launch in the Philippines soon.

0

We only have one week left until Huawei officially unveils the Mate 40 series on October 22. Until today, there were no leaks nor teasers about Huawei’s latest flagship device. Posters teasing the Huawei Mate 40’s features are now starting to pop up as we draw closer to the Mate 40’s launch.

Hexagonal or Octagonal Camera Setup?

Huawei Mate 40 Philippines

According to an official teaser image, at least one Mate 40 phone will sport either a hexagonal or octagonal camera setup. The teaser photo also shows physical volume rockers meaning the brand is veering away from the virtual buttons that were introduced with the Mate 30 series.

These renders suggest Huawei is opting for minimalistic color schemes as opposed to the radiant and pastel color hues we’ve seen with previous Huawei devices. There’s a possibility that Huawei will introduce different camera design setups with the Mate 40 lineup – the most cameras being the Mate 40 Pro.

Realme 7 Pro Review

0

Earlier this year, the realme 6 series was unveiled and it was quite exciting due to its powerful hardware inside and also the interesting updates to its display and now, the realme 7 has finally arrived in the country and it’s a refresh from the previous generation and we got here a different display and a better camera. Want to know more? Check out our review of the product below:

Realme 7 Pro Review: Design and Hardware

One of the things that were changed on the smartphone is the design. It’s a major shift for the realme 7 series in terms of design language as we got here a design called mirror space design that features a glass back with clean lighting effects and with a texture of a classic CD and yes, it does feel premium to the hand.

Not only that, but it’s also ergonomic too so it’s nice to the hand but since this one has a glass back, you might want to use the included case on the smartphone to have a better grip and of course, to protect the back of the smartphone. This is essential since we got here a pretty nice back design on the smartphone. However, the sides of the smartphone is made up of plastic.

Unlike the previous smartphones of realme, this one has a rounded rectangle camera module at the back which is a design change from the typical vertical layout camera with a yellow ring on one of the camera of realme smartphones. Thankfully, the protruding camera isn’t that thick and it doesn’t wobble that much when placed on a flat surface.

For the ports, we got here a USB-C that supports 65W SuperDart Fast Charging that we’re gonna talk about later and then of course, there’s the headphone jack and the power button on the right with the volume rocker on the other side. There’s no side fingerprint scanner on the smartphone too as we got here an in-display fingerprint scanner on the smartphone.

Realme 7 Pro Review: Display

This is where it gets interesting. Previously, the realme 6 Pro uses an IPS display but it has a 90Hz refresh rate while the realme 7 Pro opted for a Super AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Basically, they just opted for a more expensive panel with a lower refresh rate but have a better quality while the realme 7 features the same IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This means that customers now have the choice between Super AMOLED display with better colors and also the realme 7 with IPS panel with a smoother 90Hz refresh rate.

With regards to the realme 7 Pro’s Super AMOLED display, yes, it was a lot better in terms of colors on the Super AMOLED panel and of course, the blacks are really black and the viewing angles on the realme 7 Pro is just excellent. If you ask me, I would be fine with the realme 7 Pro with a Super AMOLED display as we can get here better colors and outdoor visibility.

realme 7 Pro Review: Battery Life

The battery life of the realme 7 Pro is quite great. We got here a 4500mAh battery inside which can last up to more than a single day depending on your usage but of course, there’s the 65W SuperDart charging too which is one of the main highlights of the smartphone. In our review, the smartphone was able to get a PCMark Work 2.0 Battery Life score of 15 hours and 12 minutes which is one of the best scores that we’ve seen.

In our real life usage, the realme 7 Pro can last a single day or even more than a day in single usage which is a plus for me.

realme 7 Pro Review: Fast Charging

For the fast charging tech, there’s the 65W SuperDart charging and boy oh boy, it was really fast. In our live demo of the 65W SuperDart Charging at my Facebook page and we were able to get from 0% to 100% in just 38 minutes which is amazingly fast. Basically, even if you woke up late for work, you can still fully charge your smartphone in almost half an hour. You can check out the live demo here:

realme 7 Pro Review: Software and Performance

As expected, the realme 7 Pro will still come with realme UI inside and it’s fast, swift, and very user-friendly. Of course, it will still come with the some apps with it but overall, I still like what we’re getting on the realme 7 Pro’s realme UI but hopefully, we can get to see the realme UI on Android 11 soon.

For the hardware inside, there’s the same Snapdragon 720G processor inside and also the 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Some might argue that the smartphone didn’t have an upgrade from the realme 6 Pro. Well, you’re right but this is because the realme 7 Pro is for the people who haven’t upgraded to the realme 6 Pro yet. The realme 7 Pro is still a reasonable smartphone to buy and it’s a powerful one as proven by these benchmark scores:

For gaming, the realme 7 Pro will still do well and we’re pretty happy that we ran Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, PUBG Mobile, and Black Desert Mobile without problems on the smartphone but of course, you have to tone down the settings of the smartphone at heavier games like Black Desert Mobile and with PUBG Mobile, you’ll  Check out our gaming review of the smartphone below:

realme 7 Pro Review: Camera

The realme 7 Pro will have a 64MP main camera which is basically the same as the previous generation but they’ve made some improvements on this one. We still got here the 64MP main camera + 8MP utlra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera and B&W Sensor and unfortunately, we’re losing the telephoto camera here so there’s no optical zoom in here. Personally, I prefer having the optical zoom on the smartphone but realme promises better bokeh and portrait mode with its new camera setup.

Check out the shots that I took below:

In our shots, I’ve noticed that the realme 7 Pro can shoot better photos than the predecessor. I can get sharper photos in this one with a lot better color accuracy and in our night shots, we’re pretty happy with the results that we got on the smartphone. The effects on the night shots are pretty cool too.

realme 7 Pro Review: Verdict

The realme 7 Pro is a decent mid-range smartphone. Yes, it might have the same chipset as the predecessor but this smartphone is meant for the people who hasn’t upgraded yet to the realme 6 Pro series. This is still a competitive mid-range smartphone with an upgraded camera, solid design, and also long battery life.

The realme 7 Pro is now available for Php17,990.

realme 7 Pro Specs

  • 6.43-inch Super AMOLED Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G Octa-Core Processor
  • 8GB RAM
  • 128GB Internal Storage expandable via microSD
  • 64MP Sony IMX682 Main Camera + 8MP ultra wide-angle + 2MP macro + 2MP B&W Sensor
