Realme 7 Pro Review

0

Earlier this year, the realme 6 series was unveiled and it was quite exciting due to its powerful hardware inside and also the interesting updates to its display and now, the realme 7 has finally arrived in the country and it’s a refresh from the previous generation and we got here a different display and a better camera. Want to know more? Check out our review of the product below:

Realme 7 Pro Review: Design and Hardware

One of the things that were changed on the smartphone is the design. It’s a major shift for the realme 7 series in terms of design language as we got here a design called mirror space design that features a glass back with clean lighting effects and with a texture of a classic CD and yes, it does feel premium to the hand.

Not only that, but it’s also ergonomic too so it’s nice to the hand but since this one has a glass back, you might want to use the included case on the smartphone to have a better grip and of course, to protect the back of the smartphone. This is essential since we got here a pretty nice back design on the smartphone. However, the sides of the smartphone is made up of plastic.

Unlike the previous smartphones of realme, this one has a rounded rectangle camera module at the back which is a design change from the typical vertical layout camera with a yellow ring on one of the camera of realme smartphones. Thankfully, the protruding camera isn’t that thick and it doesn’t wobble that much when placed on a flat surface.

For the ports, we got here a USB-C that supports 65W SuperDart Fast Charging that we’re gonna talk about later and then of course, there’s the headphone jack and the power button on the right with the volume rocker on the other side. There’s no side fingerprint scanner on the smartphone too as we got here an in-display fingerprint scanner on the smartphone.

Realme 7 Pro Review: Display

This is where it gets interesting. Previously, the realme 6 Pro uses an IPS display but it has a 90Hz refresh rate while the realme 7 Pro opted for a Super AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Basically, they just opted for a more expensive panel with a lower refresh rate but have a better quality while the realme 7 features the same IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This means that customers now have the choice between Super AMOLED display with better colors and also the realme 7 with IPS panel with a smoother 90Hz refresh rate.

With regards to the realme 7 Pro’s Super AMOLED display, yes, it was a lot better in terms of colors on the Super AMOLED panel and of course, the blacks are really black and the viewing angles on the realme 7 Pro is just excellent. If you ask me, I would be fine with the realme 7 Pro with a Super AMOLED display as we can get here better colors and outdoor visibility.

realme 7 Pro Review: Battery Life

The battery life of the realme 7 Pro is quite great. We got here a 4500mAh battery inside which can last up to more than a single day depending on your usage but of course, there’s the 65W SuperDart charging too which is one of the main highlights of the smartphone. In our review, the smartphone was able to get a PCMark Work 2.0 Battery Life score of 15 hours and 12 minutes which is one of the best scores that we’ve seen.

In our real life usage, the realme 7 Pro can last a single day or even more than a day in single usage which is a plus for me.

realme 7 Pro Review: Fast Charging

For the fast charging tech, there’s the 65W SuperDart charging and boy oh boy, it was really fast. In our live demo of the 65W SuperDart Charging at my Facebook page and we were able to get from 0% to 100% in just 38 minutes which is amazingly fast. Basically, even if you woke up late for work, you can still fully charge your smartphone in almost half an hour. You can check out the live demo here:

realme 7 Pro Review: Software and Performance

As expected, the realme 7 Pro will still come with realme UI inside and it’s fast, swift, and very user-friendly. Of course, it will still come with the some apps with it but overall, I still like what we’re getting on the realme 7 Pro’s realme UI but hopefully, we can get to see the realme UI on Android 11 soon.

For the hardware inside, there’s the same Snapdragon 720G processor inside and also the 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Some might argue that the smartphone didn’t have an upgrade from the realme 6 Pro. Well, you’re right but this is because the realme 7 Pro is for the people who haven’t upgraded to the realme 6 Pro yet. The realme 7 Pro is still a reasonable smartphone to buy and it’s a powerful one as proven by these benchmark scores:

For gaming, the realme 7 Pro will still do well and we’re pretty happy that we ran Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, PUBG Mobile, and Black Desert Mobile without problems on the smartphone but of course, you have to tone down the settings of the smartphone at heavier games like Black Desert Mobile and with PUBG Mobile, you’ll  Check out our gaming review of the smartphone below:

realme 7 Pro Review: Camera

The realme 7 Pro will have a 64MP main camera which is basically the same as the previous generation but they’ve made some improvements on this one. We still got here the 64MP main camera + 8MP utlra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera and B&W Sensor and unfortunately, we’re losing the telephoto camera here so there’s no optical zoom in here. Personally, I prefer having the optical zoom on the smartphone but realme promises better bokeh and portrait mode with its new camera setup.

Check out the shots that I took below:

In our shots, I’ve noticed that the realme 7 Pro can shoot better photos than the predecessor. I can get sharper photos in this one with a lot better color accuracy and in our night shots, we’re pretty happy with the results that we got on the smartphone. The effects on the night shots are pretty cool too.

realme 7 Pro Review: Verdict

The realme 7 Pro is a decent mid-range smartphone. Yes, it might have the same chipset as the predecessor but this smartphone is meant for the people who hasn’t upgraded yet to the realme 6 Pro series. This is still a competitive mid-range smartphone with an upgraded camera, solid design, and also long battery life.

The realme 7 Pro is now available for Php17,990.

realme 7 Pro Specs

  • 6.43-inch Super AMOLED Display

iPhone 12

The iPhone 12 will also feature the A14 Bionic chipset which is the latest and most powerful mobile chip from Apple. For the camera, it will still have a 12MP for the wide and ultrawide angle camera with the main camera featuring a f/1.6 aperture.

ASUS Vivobook S14 S433 Review

0

A lot of us are still looking for a decent notebook that we can use at home and also at work since most of us are working at home or having their classes at home and if you’re looking for one and you’re the type of person that wants a decently priced notebook with enough power and stylish design then you might want to check this one out — the ASUS Vivobook S14.

Design and hardware

One of the main highlights of this notebook is its design. We got here a vast amount of available colors for the notebook but what we got is the simpler and subtle one which is black but don’t get me wrong because this one is still beautiful.

First, we got here a metal chassis, and to add to that beauty is the diamond-cut edges on the notebook and with its colors, it’s really bold and striking compared to other notebooks in the market. There’s a color-blocking enter key too which is a small detail but it’s definitely a beauty in the notebook.

At the lid of the notebook is a clean and sleek design. Yes, it’s made up of metal and then of course there’s the ASUS VivoBook logo on the side that looks pretty cool to me and cleaner compared to the logos that are in the middle and then thin line too at the top of the lid.

The ASUS VivoBook S14 weighs at 1.4kg and it’s light enough to be brought anywhere and since we’re working at home, the 0.62-inch thickness and also the 1.4kg doesn’t really bother me. Thanks to the small bezel on the notebook, we got here a pretty compact body too on a 14” display.

Another welcome addition on this notebook is the fingerprint scanner which is located on the touchpad of the notebook and in my usage, I was pretty happy with what we’re getting on this one as this one is fast. Unfortunately, there’s no support for face recognition unlock on this notebook.

Speaking of face recognition, there’s the HD camera on top of the display of the notebook and the quality wasn’t that great but if you just want a webcam on your notebook for online school or for other stuff then ok, this one will just satisfy your needs.

Ports

As for the ports on this one, there’s plenty of that here as we got here an HDMI port, a 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, and audio combo jack on one side and then there’s the 2x USB 2.0 and the microSD card reader on the other side. Basically, there’s everything that you need in this notebook.

Display

The display is actually one of my favorites in here as the colors in here are pretty fine for its price range. There’s the 14” LED-backlit Full HD 1920×1080 16:9 display over here with a frameless NanoEdge display with 85% screen-to-body ratio which is why this notebook feels pretty compact.

Again, it’s a fine display and the viewing angles on this one is great. Using it outside is generally ok and it’s bright enough even when I’m using this outside so overall, I’m pretty fine with the display of this notebook.

Keyboard and touchpad

The ASUS VivoBook S14 features a spacious chiclet-style keyboard and boy oh boy, I do love typing on the keyboard of this one. The key travel on the keyboard is fine and it’s really responsive in my usage. It’s not soft or mushy and it’s almost excellent for me. There’s a backlit keyboard too which means that I can use the keyboard even when I’m working before bedtime and we do have here three levels of backlit which is really bright.

As for the function keys, the default is that you don’t need to press the fn button anymore to control the volume and stuff. There’s a shortcut button too on the function keys for the snipping tool and also the for the MyASUS app.

The trackpad of this one hasn’t been maximized but space will do just fine. Thanks to the precision drivers, using this one is responsive and in my usage. The fingerprint scanner is also located at this part and it doesn’t annoy me that much when I’m using the trackpad of the notebook. Scrolling will do just fine in here and of course, the multi-touch works fine as well.

Software and performance

So let’s get down to the software and performance of this notebook. Of course, it will come with some pre-installed applications that really bugs me including the McAfee. I still wonder why they include that in most notebooks as this one just annoys me to hell about renewing their subscription status. Anyway, there’s nothing much to see as aside from the preinstalled applications that you wouldn’t use.

As for the performance, the ASUS Vivobook S14 S433 that we’re reviewing right now comes with an Intel Core i7-1065G7 CPU which is also known as Ice Lake and it also comes with Nvidia GeForce MX350 GPU for some of that casual gaming on the notebook. Thankfully, I’m pretty happy with the performance that we got on this one and I’m happy that they’ve used Ice lake for this one instead of Comet Lake that has a slower performance.

In our benchmarks, the ASUS VivoBook S14 has performed pretty well. Check out the benchmarks that we got on the notebook below:

Those are pretty respectable scores especially for its price range which makes the notebook perfect for those people who are looking for a notebook that they can use for work and also for school especially at this time of pandemic.

As seen in the Crystal Disk Mark, this one has pretty respectable speeds for the SSD and the notebook just scored fairly at Cinebench R20.

As for gaming, the ASUS VivoBook S14 S433 can play some games just fine but of course, do not expect too much for this one. Yes, it might be able to play some of the latest games in the market but be sure to tone it down to the lowest settings.

In our gaming test, we’ve tried playing games like Cities: Skylines which is a CPU heavy game and also No Man’s Sky and the notebook didn’t had any problems running Cities Skylines but if you tone down the graphics settings while No Man’s Sky will be only playable if you lower the resolution and also the graphics settings of the game. As for the not so demanding game called Citadel: Forged with Fire, the VivoBook S14’s prowess was perfectly fine for this one.

Overall, the notebook is not made for gaming but if you want to play some casual games and you just want to run games at not so high settings then the ASUS VivoBook S14 won’t be a problem for you.

Surprisingly, the VivoBook S14 handled the heating pretty well on this one. It heats up moderately but not to the point that the notebook becomes too hot to use and as for the fans, it’s barely audible when it starts up when gaming so really, I’m not worried about this one.

Verdict

The ASUS VivoBook S14 S433 is a notebook that is definitely interesting. We got here a pretty design and the solid build quality that people would surely love. The Intel Core i7-1065G7 is pretty powerful too compared to Ice Lake but it might get some competition compared to the Ryzen processors.

The ASUS VivoBook S14 S433 is now available and it starts at Php49,995.

Here’s How To Remove Upskirt Censorship in Genshin Impact

10

Genshin Impact, a multi-platform action role-playing game is the latest craze in gaming thanks to its Zelda-like graphics and gameplay mechanics paired with adorable waifu characters. A random user on the 4Chan forums found a way on how to remove the upskirt censorship by deleting several files in the game.

What is Upskirt Censorship?

Genshin Impact Upskirt Tutorial

Upskirt Censorship happens when your Genshin Impact character slowly becomes transparent as you are about to view underneath their skirt. The closer you are to viewing what’s underneath the skirt, the higher your character’s opacity level

How to Remove Upskirt Censorship

  1. Go to the folder where you installed the Genshin Impact Game
  2. Navigate to “Genshin Impact Game\GenshinImpact_Data\Persistent\AssetBundles”
  3. Delete the “blocks” folder
  4. Launch the game

Note: The folder is created each time the game updates so be sure to delete it after each update.

Here’s a picture comparison before and after the deletion of the blocks folder

PBA Bubble will be powered by Smart 5G

0

PBA will be back soon in a bubble setup similar to the NBA bubble and Smart will be powering the sports broadcast at the start of the PBA All-Filipino Cup today, October 11 at the Clark Freeport in Pampanga.

With the Fiber-like speeds on mobile devices, you can get simpler and more efficient capture and broadcast with Smart 5G on the court. But of course, it’s not just the internet because with Smart 5G, fans can also expect better angles and content from teams and players as there will be ball-tracking cameras and even heat-sensing cameras that can monitor the health and safety of the members of the 12-team league and the teams working at PBA.

“Both technology and basketball are in the DNA of Smart. In this unprecedented PBA league, we are bringing these two together with the country’s first-ever 5G-powered sports broadcast, paving the way for new exciting experiences for organizers, players, and fans of the sport,” said PLDT-Smart Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan.

“This reset is huge for Filipino basketball fans all over the country who have been missing the sport since we had that opening and ‘last’ game in March. Our support for PBA is in line with our thrust to bring Filipinos closer to their passions powered by mobile innovations made simple by Smart,” said Al S. Panlilio, PLDT Chief Revenue Officer and Smart President and CEO.

Smart 5G is already live in selected areas including the Makati CBD, Bonifacio Global City CBD, Araneta City, Mall of Asia Bay Area, North Avenue, Taft Avenue, Ortigas CBD, EDSA, and New Clark City in Pampanga.

Smart 5G is also available at Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Caloocan, Navotas, San Juan, and Pasay and in the provinces of Boracay, Cavite, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo Laguna, and Rizal.
