Infinix is expanding its product lineup with the introduction of its first tablet, the Infinix XPAD, to the Philippine market. The tablet will come with a Helio G99 chipset inside and also an 11-inch display which makes it capable as an entertainment device.
The XPAD is designed for content consumption and educational purposes. It comes with an 11-inch Full HD display and it provides a large enough size for different consumption. The Helio G99 processor might not be enough for more recent games but it’s capable for decent and normal apps and casual games.
There’s also a feature of the Infinix XPAD is its integration of an AI-powered voice assistant called Folax, which utilizes ChatGPT technology. This assistant is designed to offer voice-activated controls and engage in contextual dialogues, potentially enhancing user interaction with the device.
The tablet also comes with LTE for mobile connection and for the camera, the XPAD comes with 12MP main sensor and 8MP ultrawide sensor while for the front-facing camera, there’s the 8MP front-facing camera.
Infinix is positioning the XPAD to be priced under Php 9,500, placing it in the affordable segment of the market. The official launch date for the Infinix XPAD in the Philippines has not yet been announced.
Xiaomi has launched its latest wearable device, the Smart Band 9, in the Philippines. The new fitness tracker aims to combine personal wellness features with customizable style options, targeting users who prioritize both health monitoring and fashion.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 boasts a 16% improvement in heart rate monitoring accuracy compared to its predecessor. It offers all-day heart rate and SpO₂ tracking, as well as a 7-day resting heart rate monitoring feature. The new Xiaomi Smart Band 9 also features a more in-depth sleep tracking for better insights on your sleep. While for sports tracking, it has over 150 sports modes and it offers 10 on-wrist running courses and metrics.
On the hardware side, it has a long battery life with its 233mAh battery that can last up to 21 days and then there’s the 1.62-inch AMOLED display as well with a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 also comes in five body colors: Glacier Silver, Midnight Black, Arctic Blue, Mystic Rose, and in the future, Titan Grey

The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 will be available on Xiaomi’s official Shopee store at a regular price of P1,999. An early-bird special price of P1,699 will be offered until August 21. The device will also be available in all authorized Xiaomi stores nationwide starting August 29, 2024.

AirGap Voltage Transformer: This new safety technology uses electromagnetic conversion to isolate high voltage from the battery in case of faults, ensuring a safer charging process. The transformer is compact, reducing voltage to 20V and achieving a power efficiency of about 98%.
Meanwhile, the 320W SuperSonic Charger also features a high power density of 3.3W per cubic centimeter. It supports a range of charging protocols, including UFCS, PD, and SuperVOOC, making it compatible with various devices. The charger includes dual USB-C outputs for simultaneous fast charging of phones and laptops.

Google has just unveiled today their newest foldable smartphone in the market, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This new smartphone brings in a lot of new upgrades to the foldable smartphone including a new hinge.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is bringing a slimmer profile compared to last year which was already thin enough compared to Samsung Galaxy Fold 6. The new foldable pixel is also taller which means that the smartphone can display more content and the cover display will more usable.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with a thickness of just 5.1mm when unfolded and 10.5mm when folded. Despite that, the smartphone is still IPX8 water-resistant. The smartphone also features a foldable 8-inch display inside and it comes with a 6.3-inch cover display with OLED panels and 120Hz refresh rate a peak brightness of 2700 nits.
For the camera, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with 48MP main camera along with 10.5MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide camera. For the processing part, it comes with Tensor G4 which is a 4nm processor and then there’s the 16GB RAM and also a 512GB Storage. HUAWEI’s chairman of the board, Richard Yu, has been spotted using a never been seen before device from the company and from the looks of it, he’s using a tri-fold device which can be a smartphone and also a large tablet.
There are multiple clues that shows that the smartphone is a tri-fold design including the two vertical creases on the display of the device. From the looks of the size, it looks like it’s getting a larger display which is probably a 10″ display with it unfolded. We can also expect that this device would have a Kirin processor inside just like the Mate Series and also the Pura Series.
No word yet regarding the launch but we can expect this to come out soon.
