OPPO Find X2 Pro Review

0

The Find series of OPPO is known to be the best smartphone series of the company and now, it comes in two variants — OPPO Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro. The OPPO Find X2 Pro is the newest flagship smartphone of the company and it’s the best-looking OPPO smartphone that we’ve seen. But of course, not only that the smartphone is stylish, this one is also powerful inside. Wanna know our review of the smartphone? Check it out below.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Design and hardware

Without a doubt, the OPPO Find X2 Pro is the best smartphone that the company has created. It doesn’t have a complicated and unique design of the OPPO Find X but the Find X2 Pro does have a glass front and back and it does feel premium and at the back, we do get here a textured glass and again, it really feels premium.

The curve back of the smartphone definitely helps in the ergonomics of the smartphone and it might be a little bit of weight but I’m pretty sure that the smartphone would still be handy but I highly suggest that you get a smartphone case for this one as the OPPO Find X2 Pro is made up of glass.

The camera bump at the back is really noticeable and you might notice that the wobbling is very annoying when you’re placing the smartphone at a flat surface and again, I highly suggest that you put in a case for this smartphone to avoid it. But hey, at least you’re getting a good camera on this one.

The smartphone also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and it’s fast as expected. The pop-up camera is also gone on the smartphone which is why there’s face unlock on this one. As expected, there’s no headphone jack on the smartphone and also a microSD card slot.

Oh and the speaker? It’s actually pretty loud and very clear and crisp. This is actually the best audio that I’ve seen on an OPPO smartphone. The smartphone also comes with IP68 water resistance but I didn’t bother checking it out.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Display

One of the main reasons why the OPPO Find X2 Pro is attractive is the display. First, there’s the large 6.78-inch OLED display on the smartphone with QHD+ resolution. Second, there’s the HDR10+ certification and also a 10-bit panel which will give you more color than other displays. Lastly, there’s the 120Hz refresh rate which is really smooth when you’re looking at the display of the smartphone.

Overall, the display of the OPPO Find X2 Pro is one of the best in the market right now. Yes, it’s a punch-hole display but the colors on this one are really accurate, it’s crisp thanks to the resolution and the 120Hz refresh rate is just good whether you want to use the smartphone for basic usage or when you’re using it when playing games.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Battery life

One of the advantages of OPPO smartphones is the fast charging and with the OPPO Find X2 Pro, we’re getting here a SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charge which is insanely fast. The OPPO Find X2 Pro supports 65W Fast Charging which is 2x-4x faster than fast chargers that are available on flagship smartphones. This is actually insane.

The battery of the smartphone isn’t disappointing too. We got here a 4260mAh battery and thanks to the power efficiency of Snapdragon 865 processor inside the smartphone. The OPPO Find X2 Pro can last up to 8 hours and 41 minutes in PC Mark which is weird as we can last almost a whole day of usage on the smartphone which is just fine for a flagship smartphone

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Software

Another upgrade that they’ve done on the OPPO Find X2 Pro is the software. We now have here a ColorOS 7.1 which is a big improvement over the previous generation. Actually, it’s so good and clean that I want to use the UI of the smartphone for my everyday usage. Not only that, the ColorOS 7.1 also has a better set of wallpapers and colors on the icons that are really easy on the eye.

One of my favorite in the new ColorOS 7.1 is the OPPO Relax in where you can listen to ambient sounds and other audio that can help you feel relax. Overall, ColorOS 7.1 is swift, fast, and it’s very user friendly.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Performance

Now here comes my favorite part of the OPPO Find X2 Pro. The smartphone features a Snapdragon 865 processor along with 12GB of RAM. Basically, the specs of the smartphone can definitely handle everything in the Play Store right now. We played different games on the smartphone including PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile and we were able to play these games without a sweat. Check out the benchmarks that we got on the OPPO Find X2 Pro.

Overall, the OPPO Find X2 Pro proved that the smartphone is really powerful. The smartphone will easily decimate any game that you install on the smartphone and since we got here a 120hz refresh rate on the display on the smartphone, it definitely helped in our sessions at Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile as it was very responsive and very smooth on FPS games.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Camera

Now, this is where the smartphone review gets a little bit interesting. The OPPO Find X2 Pro features a triple-lens camera system with a main 48MP camera and of course, there’s the 13MP periscope lens for the zooming and of course, there’s the 48MP ultra-wide angle lens.

On the front, we got here a 32MP front-facing selfie camera and it’s a lot better than other OPPO smartphones. Most of the shots that we took are really good but not the best in the flagship segment. The colors are noticeable accurate on the shots on OPPO Find X2 Pro. Check out the shots that we took on the smartphone.

Just like the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom, we got here pretty good zooming capabilities. The OPPO Find X2 Pro is capable of 5x optical zoom and it can even go up to 60x. But as expected, the details wouldn’t be as clear as you can expect on 60x zoom but at least, this one is capable of doing that.

60x zoom
1x zoom

The night mode on the smartphone is pretty fine too. It can capture brighter shots and what I like about it is that the colors are still maintained despite the low light condition. The ultra wide-angle shots that we took on the camera are quite good too but the distortion is noticeable in shots of the smartphone.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Review: Verdict

The OPPO Find X2 Pro is one of the best flagship smartphones out there. First, the design of the smartphone is premium and ergonomic. Second, the smartphone packs a powerful Snapdragon 865 processor that can give you a long battery life and also a really good gaming experience and lastly, the camera might not be the best one in the flagship segment but it can really give you some nice shots and excellent colors combined with the 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit display.

Well, there’s a lot to love about the OPPO Find X2 Pro. It’s an excellent smartphone but some people might find it pricey for Php65,990. Nonetheless, the smartphone is still a good one.

How to keep your smartphone sanitized

0

Being extra careful in keeping your smartphone in this pandemic is really essential and according to the Journal of Hospital Infection, the COVID-19 is capable of surviving up to nine days on smooth surfaces like the smartphone display and we all know that we touch our smartphones anything especially that we are always connected to our loved ones.

So what can we do to keep our smartphones clean and sanitize? Well, it’s easy  just be sure to constantly wash your hands with soap and water as advised by the WHO and of course, be sure to follow these tips on properly and safely cleaning your smartphone which is recommended by OPPO Philippines:

  1. Be sure to wash your hands – of course, you need to avoid transferring the harmful bacteria to sanitize your hands before and after you clean your smartphone
  2. Be ready with your soft, lint-free or microfiber cloth – Be sure to use this kind of cloth to avoid damaging the surface of your smartphone
  3. 70% Isopropyl Alcohol is recommended – It’s a good disinfectant against viruses but of course, be sure to use cotton and swabs to clean the harder to reach areas on your smartphone.
  4. Be sure to use liquid hand soaps with alcohol content – This is very important as the alcohol content can wipe off the viruses and bacteria on the surfaces of your smartphone
  5. Don’t use harsh cleaning products – It’s essential to not use strong chemical components on your smartphone to avoid the damage on your devices
  6. Use UV Light – One of the ways to disinfect is to use the UV-C light that can kill certain bacteria and sanitize your smartphones

0

The ASUS Zenbook Duo is one of the most stylish and functional notebooks out there due to the second-screen on the notebook and now, the fad is available on the ROG line of notebook and it’s on the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15. The notebook doesn’t just pack a second screen as this one also features powerful hardware inside.

If you’re worried about the airflow, the ROG Screenpad tilts up to 13-degrees which gives you not only a better touchscreen interaction but also a comfortable viewing.

As expected this would have a keyboard layout similar to other ASUS Zephyrus in where you’ll need a palm rest for better typing experience in the notebook.

Huawei Y7p Review

0

The first mid-range smartphone from Huawei to take full advantage of the Huawei Mobile Services is the Huawei Y7p. The smartphone is also one of the most affordable in the market to sport a punch-hole design. So if you’re looking for a smartphone with triple lens camera and a punch-hole design then you might want to take a look at this.

Huawei Y7p Review: Hardware and design

The Huawei Y7p is one of the stylish mid-range smartphones out there and honestly, it’s one of my favorites when it comes to design thanks to the colors that are available on the smartphone and also the effects at the back that gives you a rectangular rainbow effect that looks really nice.

The smartphone might look like this one is packing a glass design but actually, this one uses polycarbonate and it isn’t bad as this one feels solid to me when holding it along with the rounded edges on the sides of the smartphone. Since we have here rounded sides with a flat back, the smartphone isn’t as ergonomic as other smartphones with a curved back but this one will do just fine.

At the back is where you can find the fingerprint scanner of the smartphone and it works just fine and of course, there’s the face unlock too and it works well too. When it comes to ports, unfortunately, the Huawei Y7p still uses a micro USB port but there’s a headphone jack on this one in case you’re still using a wired one.

Since we got here a 48MP triple-lens camera on the smartphone, the Huawei Y7p does have a noticeable protruding camera at the back of the smartphone but thankfully, it wasn’t that big that the smartphone would wobble most of the time on a flat surface.

Huawei Y7p Review: Display

There’s a 6.39-inch HD+ display on the smartphone. Unfortunately, it’s just taking advantage of an HD+ resolution which means that the smartphone isn’t as crisp as expected. But what we like in this smartphone is the punch-hole camera and also the minimal bezels on the smartphone’s display.

Despite the HD+ resolution, this one does produce fine colors and it may not be as sharp as most Full HD+ displays, this one will do just fine when it comes to color reproductions.

Huawei Y7p Review: Battery life

The Huawei Y7p features a 4000mAh battery inside and we were able to install PC Mark on this one and we tested it on the Work 2.0 Battery Life and we got a score of 14 hours and 10 minutes. This is actually pretty good for a mid-range smartphone like this. However, the smartphone only packs a 10W charger which will take some time before you can fully charge your smartphone.

Huawei Y7p Review: Software

The Huawei Y7p is running on EMUI 9.1 that is based on Android 9 Pie. As expected, there’s no Google Mobile Services on the smartphone and instead, it takes advantage of the Huawei AppGallery for the apps and games. And in case the apps aren’t there, I’m just downloading my apps on APKPure. You can check out my software experience about the Huawei Y7p here:

Living a single work day with the Huawei Y7p and Huawei AppGallery

As expected, the smartphone does come with the basic applications that you need on a Huawei smartphone. And if you’re worried about the storage, this one comes with 64GB of internal storage.

Huawei Y7p Review: Performance

The smartphone still uses the aging Kirin 710F processor along with 4GB of RAM. Well, the processor of the smartphone isn’t new and it’s already dated despite being faster than. The original – the Kirin 710.

Now, the Kirin 710F can run the most basic applications like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WeChat, and more but if you’re planning on playing games on this smartphone, you might want to turn down the settings of those games but yeah, you can play games such as Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt 9 which is available on the AppGallery.

Huawei Y7p Review: Camera

For the camera, the Huawei Y7p features a triple-lens rear camera at the back and yes, it does come with 48MP main camera along with the 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and also the 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there’s the 8MP selfie sensor too.

The quality that I got on the smartphone is what I can expect on a mid-range smartphone with a 48MP sensor inside. The images that I shot were detailed and decent enough for a smartphone that starts at Php9,990. The Ultra wide-angle lens is also better than I expected but it isn’t an excellent one. The night shots were fine too for its price range and for selfies, I still find it a little bit lacking but I’m still satisfied with it. Check out our shots of the smartphone below:

For videos, thankfully, the smartphone can shoot at 1080p at 30fps which will do just fine for mid-range smartphones.

Huawei Y7p Review: Verdict

The Huawei Y7p does have a fine design and build quality. The smartphone is quite affordable too at Php9,990 and the triple-lens rear camera of the smartphone does a decent job. Although the processor might be dated since we’re using here a Kirin 710F processor, you can’t expect too much from this one. But hey, for its price, I still wouldn’t complain.

The Huawei Y7p is now available for Php9,990.
