Samsung Galaxy Z Flip now official

2

The clamshells are back as Samsung has finally announced their newest smartphone — the Galaxy Z Flip, a clamshell smartphone that features a foldable display inside and also a pretty powerful processor compared to Motorola Razr. This is the first smartphone in the Galaxy Z series and the second Galaxy smartphone with a foldable display after the Samsung Galaxy Fold.

So what can we expect from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip? Well, we got here a first foldable glass display called Infinity Flex Display with Samsung’s proprietary ultra thin glass (UTG) which makes the smartphone sleek and premium looking. This one also packs a center in-display camera with a 21.9:9 display aspect ratio which is perfect if you’re watching movies and videos at 21:9.

There’s a small 1.1-inch Super AMOLED display too on the cover display of the smartphone in where it gives you the notifications on the smartphone.

Having the perfect hinge on a foldable smartphone is important and with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, there’s the new hideaway hinge in where it’s backed by a dual CAM mechanism that ensures that every flip and fold of the smartphone is smooth and also stable. Not only that, but you can also see the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip open at different angles including the angle in where it’s like a laptop screen. The feature that I like in here is that it also comes with nylon fibers that repel dirt and dust to protect the hinge of the device.

Since the hinge of the smartphone is flexible, you can use the smartphone hands-free as you can stay it open at multiple angles and just stay it unfold and use it for different functions.

Google has also worked with Samsung to bring you Flex mode which lets you use the unique forward folding form factor of the Galaxy Z Flip to split the two 4-inch screens of the smartphone in where you can easily see images, contents and more on the top half and also control them on the bottom half. You can also use it for YouTube in where you can easily watch and navigate YouTube — stream on the top and reading descriptions and comments on the bottom.

Since we got here a unique hinge, you can also use the camera to capture night hyperlapse videos with no tripod needed as you can record 16:9 videos by just placing it on the table. Not just that, you can also take selfies using the rear camera of the smartphone without unfolding thanks to the small AMOLED display on the cover display of the smartphone.

Latest Windows Update Makes MS Paint, Wordpad, and Notepad Optional

0

If you’re a fan of the snipping tool, you’ve probably noticed the small message saying “Snipping tool is moving…” Microsoft has started to retire legacy windows applications and integrating the new versions in the Microsoft store. The transition between legacy apps in the Microsoft store is done through incremental Windows updates. The latest update converts MS Paint, Wordpad, and Notepad as optional features.

Windows Insider Build 19551 makes these programs optional in Windows 10, making it removable through the Optional features in Control Panel. Notepad and MS Paint have been installed in Windows since 1985 while Wordpad has been installed by default since the launch of Windows 95 in 1995. The latest Insider Build is expected to roll out in April or May dubbed as the Windows 10 20H1 Build.

The update is very convenient for users who prefer third-party apps such as Paint.NET, Notepad++ and Libre office. However, this does not mean that Microsoft will be removing the applications outright in a future Windows update. Last 2017, Microsoft announced that Windows would drop Paint and would then be moved in the Windows store as a free download. Last year, Microsoft reversed its decision and said that the application would still remain in Windows 10 by default.
