0

MediaTek has launched brand new chipsets that are made for gamers in mind in the mid-tier devices. The Helio G processors promise a better gaming experience on the smartphones that are in the mid-range segment as these chipsets bring HyperEngine game technology and better gameplay.

HyperEngine mobile gaming enhancements help the chipset have a better experience like the integrated voice wakeup, advance multi-camera, and better performance. The G70 and the G80 are paired with a powerful ARM Cortex-A75 CPU with six Cortex-A55 CPU for lighter usage. There’s an ARM Mali-G52 GPU on these chipsets too with 820MHz on the Helio G70 and 15% enhancement of up to 950 MHz on the Helio G80.

but of course, it’s not just performance. There’s an intelligent speed uplift for rapid gameplay and call & data concurrency in where the tech intelligently triggers Wi-Fi & LTE concurrency if the Wi-Fi signal is weak. This makes the Helio G70 and G80 powered smartphones have better gameplay with the lag-free connection.

Aside from that, there’s a better resource management engine for better and longer gaming. In the camera segment, the chipsets support CCU, EIS, and RSC technology and it also supports up to 240fps recording.

The Helio G70 and Helio G80 chipsets will first hit the market in India later this month.

Blackberry smartphones will be dead again

0

Yep, Blackberry smartphones will be dead again as the company has just announced that their partnership with TCL will end this August 31, 2020, and after that, TCL will cease to produce Blackberry smartphones as they have no longer have the rights to the design to make and sell Blackberry-branded smartphones.

The partnership between Blackberry and TCL started in 2016 and they’ve created a bunch of Blackberry smartphones with QWERTY keyboard that runs on Android. Most of the smartphones aren’t popular as they have been snubbed by the consumers due to the price despite the availability of the physical QWERTY keyboard.

Those who bought a Blackberry smartphone will still have customer service and warranties until August 31, 2022.

Honor FlyPods Lite Review

0

Different brands have been making their own TWS earphones to cater the needs of their consumers especially that Apple has their own AirPods and if you’re looking for one, Honor got their own TWS earbuds and it’s the Honor FlyPods Lite which is very affordable and today, we’re gonna review this device.

First, let’s talk about what’s inside the box. So these earbuds come with all the things that you need. It comes with a micro USB cable for charging, different earbuds depending on your liking, warranty card, manual, charging case and of course, the earbuds itself.

The design of this one actually reminds me of the Huawei Freebuds Lite that was released last year and but we do have some differences from that product. First, the Freebuds Lite that we got for review comes with black color with a matte design. Yes, it’s still plastic but it’s essential to keep the cost of the earbuds down.

So the Honor FlyPods Lite comes with a micro USB port and also a button at the back. Holding the button at the back for 2 seconds will let you start the Bluetooth pairing to your device while holding it for 10 seconds will let you restore factory settings the device.

There’s a touch control on this TWS earbuds so you can double to activate the voice assistant on the left earpiece and you can play/pause by double-tapping the right earpiece.  In case you’re worried about the battery, there’s an LED light indicator on the case of the Honor FlyPods Lite that gives you the battery status of the device or if you’re pairing to another device.

There’s no on/off button on this device because once you wear it, it will automatically turn on and of course, play your music if you’re already connected to the device and you wear it. No need to turn this one off as this one will automatically turn off once you put it in the case.

The design of this one resembles a golf club but it does look fine to me and the in-ear design with silicone tips of the Flypods Lite definitely helps in blocking the noise from the surroundings. Thankfully, the FlyPods Lite is easy to the ears and it feels really light.

When it comes to sound quality, the Honor Flybuds Lite will do its job well. Surprisingly, the earbuds performed better than I expected. It’s a little bit warm most of the time on the vocals which are pretty good but it isn’t as clear as you can expect for audiophiles. With the bass, the FlyPods Lite will give you some punch so you’ll definitely enjoy the TWS earbuds on this part.

When it comes to high & treble, I felt that the Honor Flypods Lite needs a lot of improvement on this one as it lacks some details on this one.

The Honor Flypods Lite also gives a decent battery life. Honor promises that this one can give you 12 hours of playtime with 3-4 hours on the earbuds and I was able to get that battery life on these earbuds which will last enough for decent commuting time.

Verdict

The Honor Flypods Lite is a decent TWS for its price. It’s not a perfect one but it has a pretty good noise reduction and it’s affordable. The audio quality will do just fine too and I’m quite happy with the battery life of this one, however, I feel that the touch controls are still lacking and the high & treble needs some work. It might not have the best earbuds out there but for the features and the quality that you’re getting, I still think that this one is a decent one.

The Honor FlyBuds Lite is now available for Php2,990.

Ben Geskin shares first Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Hands-on video

Someone is already testing the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip in the wild as a very short hands-on video has been shared by @BenGeskin. The video might be short but it confirmed some of the features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip that were shared before.

In the short video, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip was shown to be folded and it features a squarish design but it does have a tall display which may confirm that the smartphone does have a 6.7-inch 22:9 display as mentioned before.

Aside from that, the dual rear camera can also be seen on the smartphone’s back along with the mini LED display that shows the date, time, and battery. When unfolded, we can also see that the smartphone features an Infinity-O display similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series.
