Two new tablets with Super AMOLED display has been announced by Samsung recently. The Xiaomi MI 3 is the first phone from Xiaomi to arrive here in the Philippines. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor and there’s a beautiful Full HD display in it. I’ve tried the MI 3 yesterday and I was very impress with its built. There’s a 3050mAh battery too which is already big enough. Unfortunately, there’s no MicroSD card slot and LTE but c’mon guys, the Xiaomi MI3 would be very very affordable. Check out the full specifications below.

Cloudfone GEO 400q+ Review
I’ve been using the Cloudfone GEO 400q+ for a while now (Actually, it’s more than a month). It’s a quad-core smartphone from Cloudfone that has an SRP of P4,000. It’s not the most affordable quad-core smartphone in the market but it is one of the affordable smartphones that has a large capacity of battery.
The Cloudfone GEO 400q+ is a 4” smartphone powered by a MediaTek Quad-Core processor. The Cloudfone GEO 400q+ that I got was cyan and the phone somehow reminds me of the Nokia Lumia 800, their first Windows Phone. The texture was almost similar to that one however, the Cloudfone GEO 400q+ isn’t unibody but the phone is solid. I like the curves and the flat bottom and top of the phone. The phone feels a little bit heavy for its size. I’m not surprised because the Cloudfone GEO 400q+ has a battery rated at 2000mAh, which is quite big for its size.
Most people who use their phones using only one hand would probably love this phone since it is just at 4”. It may be small for some especially for some people who are playing fps games on their phones. One of the things that I didn’t like in this phone is the large bezel. Just like the Cloudfone Excite 400D, this phone has a bluish screen. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility wasn’t that good too. Oh and the Cloudfone GEO 400q+ only supports 2 multi-touch points.
The Cloudfone GEO 400q+ has a 4 GB of storage and probably, that isn’t enough for you that’s why there’s a microSD card slot for that. And yes, you can save your apps to the MicroSD card slot. The 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6582 inside performs really well. It’s not the fastest Quad-Core processor in the market but it performs quite faster than I expected. There’s an ample amount of RAM on this one, which is at 1 GB. It’s twin brother, the Cloudfone GEO 400q only has a 512 MB of RAM. There’s a Dual-Sim and both of them supports mini sim. (Mini sims are larger than micro sims).
The battery is one of the features to love in this phone. There’s a 2000mAh of battery which is enough for 2-3 days of average use. 2000mAh is big for its specifications and size although I’m not surprised because Cloudfone has been known for making phones with big batteries. The speaker grill of the phone was placed at the lower back and the audio quality of the phone wasn’t that bad. Just average.
The Cloudfone GEO 400q+is powered by Android 4.2.2 and as of this posting, there are no updates for 4.3 for this phone. But hey, you’re looking into a P4,000 smartphone, not a flagship phone and besides, Android 4.2.2 isn’t that bad. Whenever I’m playing games on the phone, I didn’t feel too much heat which is good.
I was able to play a lot of games on this phone at good frame rates however; I wasn’t able to play Edge of Tomorrow and Godzilla. Real Boxing fared pretty well and It didn’t had any lags or slowdowns. The Cloudfone GEO 400q+ got a score of 16285 at Antutu which is great for its specifications.
The camera of the Cloudfone GEO 400q+ wasn’t that good. The camera isn’t auto-focus and the images produced are darker. I wished they could improve the quality via software update.
Despite the flaws of the phones, I think the Cloudfone GEO 400q+ is still one of the best phones that you could get at P4,000. The display might be bluish and the camera didn’t performed well but the battery life and the performance of the phone was pretty great. The Cloudfone GEO 400q+ is now available at Cloudfone stores and kiosks for P3,999.
Cloudfone Excite 502q now available for P4,999
The Cloudfone Excite 502q is the newest phone from Cloudfone that features a 5″ IPS display, quad-core processor and a 12 MP camera. The Cloudfone Excite 502q also comes in different colors and I think Cloudfone Excite 502q is made to compete with MyPhone Rio but compared to the HD display of the latter, the Cloudfone Excite 502q only has an FWVGA display. Check out the full specifications below
Cloudfone Excite 502q Specifications
- 1.3 GHz Quad Core Processor
- 5″ IPS OGS FWVGA Touchscreen
- 4GB Internal storage with MicroSD card slot
- 1 GB RAM

- Dual SIM
- HSPA+
- WiFi

Cogito Pop and Cogito Classic launched!
Thinkscape recently launched the Cogito Pop and Cogito Classic Smartwatch at Gramercy 71 along with their new ambassadors. The Cogito smartwatches are aiming to combine fashion and technology by offering their smartwatches the classic analog look and by including a notification for your smartphone. Yeah, you don’t need to bring out your smartphone from your pocket just to check for new messages, emails or calls.
What makes the Cogito Smartwatch different from other smartwatches is that the Cogito focuses on fashion. Unlike other smartwatches, the Cogito Smartwatch doesn’t need to charge after a few days. Yeah, the battery for the notifications could last up to a year on the Cogito. Oh and the battery on the analog clock can last up to 3 years so you won’t have a problem with that either.
The Cogito Pop and Cogito Classic are now available for P5,500 and P9,000 respectively. If you want to know more about it, you could check out my previous post.
