Toshiba Encore 2: Windows 8.1 tablet at P8,800

1

Looks like Microsoft is fighting back against Android with their own Toshiba Encore tablets. The new Toshiba Encore Windows tablets that was revealed recently has a starting price of $200 (Php8,800) and $270(PhP12,000) for the 8″ and 10″ respectively. Both will be powered by a Quad-Core Intel Atom processor and will have a 1280×800 display.

Both devices would also house a 32 GB internal storage,a MicroSD card slot and unfortunately, the RAM has been down to 1GB. Both tablets come with one year of Office 365 personal for free and support Toshiba’s Wireless Display technology for mirroring the tablet’s display to a larger screen.

I’m not sure if these devices would be release here in the Philippines though but it’s nice to see Windows tablets going down at this price

CD-R King is selling Solar Panels

0

Yesterday, I was walking around a mall and I stumble upon a CD-R King shop and I saw a solar panel. And yes, it’s not that solar panel that can only charge your phone but this is a solar panel that could power up most of your appliances.

A single panel might not power up your whole house but it’s a good way of reducing your electricity bill. ABS-CBN has featured these solar panels and according to them, you’ll need P15,230 for a set of solar generator. I’m not expert when it comes to solar panels but it will probably took you a lot of solar panels before you can fully power up your house.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active leaks out!

0

Thanks to our favorite leakster +@evleaks. We just got a glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. It is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S5 active would be a rugged variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5. Just like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active would have physical buttons instead of capacitive. It will also have an Active key in where you can use it as shortcut to Activity zone app which will give you barometer reading and compass direction.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is also rumored to have an OIS in its camera and a larger 5.2″ display but with the same resolution. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is expected to have the same Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage and 16 Megapixel Camera.

Tech21 Impact Shell & Impact Tactical for Galaxy S5 Review

0
Whenever we buy a smartphone, the first thing that we look for is a case for our smartphones. Yeah, we always look for cases to protect our devices from scratches, dents, and cracks. When it comes to cases, I always trust Tech21.  Not only that they’re stylish but Tech21 also gives protection thanks to its D3O technology. Here’s a short video on how D3O technology protect your device.

I have two Tech21 cases for my Samsung Galaxy S5 but the Tech21 Impact Tactical is my favorite one. I really love the matte design on the Tech21 Impact Tactical. The texture feels good and the case isn’t really thick that’s why it feels good not only in the pocket but also in the hand whenever I’m typing in one hand.

The Tech21 Impact Tactical features a matte finish and an embossed line on the back, which makes the case less dull and more premium. All of the buttons click well and sockets weren’t blocked. Those are the two things that I really look at when buying a case.

The other case that I got is Tech21 Impact Shell. Compared to the Impact Tactical, the Impact Shell has a glossy and smooth finish and it doesn’t have an embossed line at the back. I also noticed that I have more grip on the Impact shell compared to the Impact Tactical.

The Tech21 Impact Shell and Impact Tactical for Samsung Galaxy S5 are now available at Digital Walker for P1,250. Do I recommend it? Yes. I love it. Get it now for your Samsung Galaxy S5.

SKK Mobile Marian Tab: Octa-Core, 18 MP camera & Android 4.4 Kitkat

0

Here’s an interesting tablet from a local brand. Obviously, the name of this tablet came from one of the biggest stars in the showbiz industry, Marian Rivera. This tablet caught my eye not because of Marian Rivera (seriously!) in her beautiful red dress but because of its specifications. The Marian Tab would be powered by an Octa-Core processor and it will have a 1920 x 1200 display. Not only it will have an Octa-Core processor and a WUXGA display, but it will also have a dual sim card slot. Check out the full specifications below:

SKK Mobile Marian Tab Specifications

  • 1.7 GHz Octa-Core processor
  • 7″ 1920×1200 LTPS Display
  • 16 GB Internal Storage with MicroSD card slot up to 32 GB
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 18 MP Rear Camera
  • 5 MP Front Camera
  • Bluetooth
  • 3G
  • GPS
  • Dual Sim
  • 3500mAh Battery
  • Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Unfortunately, the SRP of this tablet hasn’t been announced yet. But damn, the specifications of Marian Tab (the tablet, not Rivera!) is really interesting.

Cogito Pop and Classic now available in the Philippines!

0

It’s the year of wearables. Most of the smartwatches that are on the market right aren’t really stylish and the batteries doesn’t last for a month. Well, Cogito Pop is a smartwatch that combines fashion and technology. Cogito Pop has an analog clock with LED icons that alerts you whenever there’s an incoming call, an email or a message on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram and more. You could also use the Cogito Pop to locate your phone, trigger the camera and control your music player.

The Cogito Classic is the more premium smartwatch. Just like the Cogito Pop, the Cogito Classic would have an analog clock but this time, it will have a digital display. You could see in the watch face the name of the person calling you and your notifications. Yep, no need to check your phone for notifications.

Both the Cogito Classic and the Cogito Pop uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE technology to your iOS 7 and Android 4.3 devices. Oh and they are water resistant for up to 10 ATM. Yep, you could use . The Cogito Pop and Cogito Classic are now available for PhP5,500 and PhP9,000. Check em’ out at ThinkScape PH.

Thanks Gian!
