So you think that the Sony Xperia S’ screen is too small for you? Here’s the Sony Xperia Ion with 4.7″ screen. Yeah, it’s not exclusive on the AT&T (A carrier in the US) anymore. Sony Xperia Ion’s hardware specifications is almost similar to it’s smaller brother, the Sony Xperia S. Yes folks, you’ll still get those 12 megapixel camera, those fancy bravia engine stuffs and that dual core Snapdragon processor except that the HD screen is now larger at 4.7″. Too bad, you won’t see that transparent bar thing in the bottom. Just the capacitive android buttons. Oh and yeah, the phone is still powered by Android 2.3 but the Android 4.0 upgrade will be arriving very very soon. Here’s the thing, most of the flagship phone these days has 4 inch screen and yeah, even larger than that. So a lot of people expect that the iPhone 4GS/5 or anything you want to call will have a larger screen. FYI, the current iPhone has a 3.5″ screen and yeah, it’s pretty small. The next iPhone is also expected to have a HD resolution on its larger 4.1″ screen. As you can see on the screenshot, the new iPhone has an aluminum back instead of the glass. Oh and I think Apple have shift to Micro USB port too. I don’t know if this thing is real or fake but having some rumored back cover and video stuffs like this in the web makes us more excited for the next iPhone. Video after the break!

Let’s get this thing straight. The Alcatel One touch Blaze 985N is one of the most affordable Android phone out there in the market. For P7,999 you’ll get a phone that has a 3.5 inch HVGA screen, 5 megapixel camera and a dual sim slot. Not bad right? I’m not quite sure about the processor but having those features on a Android at below P10,000 is already nice. Oh and if you’re expecting on a Android 4.0, you might be disappointed because the phone is just powered by Android 2.3 (Well, most phones with not-so-high specifications is still powered by Android 2.3). The Windows phone that the Nokia fans have been waiting for is here! Actually, it was already available at some Nokia stores last saturday, June 2. So what’ll we see in this device? It has a large 4.3″ which is the same size with the Samsung Galaxy S3 (Yeah. I know. It’s large), 8 megapixel camera w/ Carl Zeiss lens. It’s not a Symbian device or a Android device but a Windows Phone. Yeah, it looks good and this thing is blazing fast. If you didn’t know yet, there are a LOT of WP apps that might be useful to us Pinoys like the MMDA app, ABS-CBN News app, iTyphoon app to track storms entering the Philippine area of responsibility, and other games and fun apps like XMT PhotoMagic. Sony Xperia Go will be available in 3 colors yellow, white and black
Another Xperia phone has been added to the Sony Xperia family. This time, it’s the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active’s successor, the Sony Xperia Go. The phone will be water proof and dust proof just like it’s predecessor. The good thing about this phone is that it is IP67 certified which means that the phone can be use under water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. Just like the Sony Xperia P, this lifeproof phone will be powered by a dual core NovaThor processor and it’ll have a 5 megapixel camera that can record HD Videos. Too bad the screen is just at 3.5″ and the resolution is too small at 320×480. They should’ve made it to at least 800×480. Android 2.3 runs on the device but the Android 4.0 update will arrive soon on the phone. It will also have 3 different colors — white, black and yellow.

So what’s up with the Samsung Galaxy S3?
For those people who aren’t familiar with the specifications yet. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 4.8″ Super AMOLED HD screen w/ 1280×720 resolution, starts at 16 gigs of storage, 1 GB, 8 megapixel camera w/ 1.9MP front cam and a quad core processor. And yes, Samsung Galaxy S III has one of the best hardware right now in the Android market and not just hardware but also the software. Why? It is already powered by Android Ice cream sandwich with a lot of features and apps like the Pop up play, S voice, Direct call and many more. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to use the S voice that much because it was noisy and the music were loud at the launch.
Yeah it’s thin!
Designed for us humans
Samsung told us that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is designed for humans and not for cows or chickens. But seriously, it is really designed for humans. The ergonomics and the curves were really good and gentle for the hand. I tried the predecessor, and I can say that I feel very comfortable to hold the Samsung Galaxy S3 in one hand than the Samsung Galaxy SII. Once you hold it, you’ll feel that it is too plastic-y but the phone is very very light for its size.
The 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED screen is very crisp and the colors are vivid. The apps opened really fast thank to the dual core. I’ve tried the Pop up play then browse the web and I didn’t experienced slowdowns or lags. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried any other features aside from that. All in all, it’s an awesome piece of device. It may not be the best looking Android phone around but its features were definitely AWESOME! If you want to get one then you might want to check out Smart and Globe’s website. But if you want an unlocked one then check out Widget City they’re selling the Samsung Galaxy S3 for P30,800 and it’ll arrive by Thursday. Oh and don’t worry guys, this is just the hands-on. I’ll post a review of the phone soon once I got the unit from Globe. Oh hey and thank you Globe!
Last night Globe launched the best Android Smartphone as of this day, the Samsung Galaxy S3 at the Mind Museum in Fort Bonifacio. Actually, there are 2 Samsung Galaxy S3 launch yesterday but I was able to attend only one of the launch and that’s the launching of Globe Samsung Galaxy S III. Aside from the press conference was a raffle and luckily, I won a brand new Samsung Galaxy S III. Unfortunately I didn’t have the phone yet. (But don’t worry guys, I’ll post a hands-on and a review of the phone soon!)
