The Xiaomi 12 Pro is currently the company’s best Android smartphone and yes, it does offer a lot including flagship hardware, a beautiful design, and a powerful processing power inside thanks to Qualcomm. But what do I think about smartphones? Check it out in our review below:
Design and hardware
First things first, let’s talk about the materials used on the smartphone and I’m telling you, this is the most premium Xiaomi smartphone that I’ve ever reviewed. First, the materials that was used for the Xiaomi 12 Pro are the very best from Xiaomi and it features a textured back with a very premium feel and curves at the back? It’s very ergonomic to the hands.
As for the frames of this one, it comes with a solid metal frame that adds to the premium and solid feel of the smartphone. At the back, there’s the rectangular camera module as well but unlike other smartphones, this one does have a clean look on the module despite the large camera lens at the back of the smartphone.
On one side, we can find here the power button and the volume rocker on the smartphone and at the top and below are the speaker grill which gives us a pretty good flagship level of speaker quality thanks to Harman/Kardon. At the top is where we can find the IR blaster if you want to use the smartphone to control your appliances or other supported devices.
Below the smartphone is the USB-C port along with the sim card tray and boy, the USB-C port supports up to 120W fast charging which is insanely fast. It can fully charge your smartphone in less than 30 minutes which is really insane.
Battery life
When it comes to the battery life of the smartphone, the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with 4600 mAh battery and again, the charging of this one is really fast so I really don’t have any problems with it and in our PC Mark Work 2.0 Battery test, we got a score of 9 hours and 53 minutes which isn’t encouraging but I was getting better results when I was using it for everyday usage.
Display
One of its biggest features is the display and I mean, literally because this one comes with a 6.73-inch WQHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It also supports HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of up to 1500 nits which is amazingly bright.
As for everyday usage, I’ve noticed that the display of the smartphone is really good. There’s a vivid display on the smartphone and the colors are really good and they are very clear even under direct sunlight. There’s a curved display as well which gives me a bezelless look on the smartphone and of course, a more beautiful look on the smartphone.
As for the 120Hz refresh rate, it was smooth, and it did offer a smoother and more responsive display when playing games such as Genshin Impact and also Apex Legends Mobile on the smartphone.
Software and performance
As for the software, this one comes with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and yes, the animations, the skin, the customizations, and everything on the smartphone’s UI is amazing and it’s very easy on the eyes. It’s swift as well and there are a few bloatwares. Everything was really well with the UI of the smartphone.
As for the performance, this one comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor, the best one in the market right now. It’s also paired with 12GB of RAM and also 256GB of internal storage and in my usage, the smartphone is really powerful and I had zero problems with it. Of course, the smartphone gets warm after a while of gaming which is what we expected from the chipset but thankfully, it doesn’t overheat.
When it comes to benchmarks, we were pretty happy with the results that we got on the smartphone. In Antutu, we got a score of 1001732 which is near what most Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones are getting. This is the similar case with the other benchmarking applications. Check out the scores that we got on the smartphone:
When it comes to gaming, we were pretty happy with the results that we got on the smartphone as games like Genshin Impact ran really well on the smartphone along with Apex Legends Mobile at the highest settings possible. Thermals weren’t a problem and everything ran pretty fine.
Camera
The camera of the Xiaomi 12 Pro is one of the biggest hits here. For starters, the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with 50MP wide-angle main camera with IMX707 sensor, a 50MP ultra wide-angle camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera for zooming and for the selfie camera, the smartphone features a 32MP in-display selfie camera. And for the quality of the shots that we are getting from the smartphone? It’s actually pretty great.

Whether you’re planning on using the smartphone for videos or for photos, the Xiaomi 12 Pro won’t disappoint you a single bit. Every shot that we got on the smartphone was great and sharp. The AI helped and the post-processing of the photos that we shot on the smartphone has definitely improved the photos and videos that we took using the smartphone.
Overall, the camera of the Xiaomi 12 Pro is an awesome one. It’s definitely on a flagship level and it can definitely compete on the ones in the market right now.
Verdict
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is definitely one of my favorites this year. It features powerful hardware inside and the design of the smartphone is definitely a looker. It’s definitely the best Xiaomi smartphone in the market and we’ve ever reviewed as it has everything that we need — a powerful camera, processor, and also an excellent display.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro might not have the best camera in the flagship segment but it’s definitely something that you would really appreciate. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is one of the most expensive smartphones that they’ve ever released but it’s worth it.

POCO has officially announced that their next phone, the POCO X4 GT, would arrive on the global market soon. Aside from that, POCO has also confirmed some of the specs and hardware that we can get from their smartphones that are expected to launch at the event — the POCO F4 and the POCO X4 GT.
Yes, there will be two flagship smartphones that will be launched on the 23rd but none of them will pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor inside. As the POCO F4 will pack a Snapdragon 870 processor while the POCO X4 GT will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor inside.
Other confirmed features include the 120Hz AMOLED display or a 144Hz LCD while both smartphones will sport a 67W Fast Charging.
Both smartphones are expected to launch this June 23 at 8PM.
vivo is not necessarily associated with smartphones that are made for gaming and performance but that’s about to change with their T series smartphones which are for gamers in mind. There are two smartphones in the vivo T-series and they are the vivo T1x and the vivo T1 5G and today, we’re going to review the affordable smartphone in the series – the vivo T1x.
Design and hardware
The smartphone has a generic smartphone design. At the back, there’s the frosted look at the smartphone, which is slippery, but it does look nice and doesn’t feel cheap thankfully and unlike the T1 5G, this one has a flat back and also flat sides.
With regards to the ergonomics of the smartphone, well, it isn’t the most ergonomic one, but it was light enough for my simple usage and even for gaming. However, I would love it if it does come with a curved back design which will make the smartphone easier to hold.
The fingerprint scanner that also acts as the power/sleep button along with the volume rocker are located on the side of the smartphone and below, there’s the USB-C port along with the speaker grill and the 3.5mm headphone jack of the smartphone is still here thankfully.
At the back of the smartphone is where we can find the camera module with a rectangular shape and again, it does look generic and very similar to other smartphones in the market.
Display
As for the display, the vivo T1x features a 6.58-inch Full HD+ LCD display and no, there’s no higher refresh rate on this one and it doesn’t have the best display even for its price range but I do appreciate that this one still has a Full HD resolution. At the top of the display is where we can find the notch and it’s not that annoying for me.
The colors are fine but again, it’s not the best one in the price range but for an affordable smartphone, this will do. If you’re a gamer and you would love to have a 90Hz refresh rate on this one, well, don’t worry because if the panel won’t be an AMOLED one then it won’t really matter when it comes to gaming.
Battery
As for the battery, the smartphone comes with 5000nAh battery with a support for 18W charging on its USB-C port. In our test, we proved that the combination of the Snapdragon 680 processor and vivo’s partnership with Qualcomm has proved that the smartphone comes with a long battery life. In our PC Mark Work 2.0 Battery test, we got a score of 21 hours and 12 minutes which is long and one of the longest lasting smartphones that we’ve ever reviewed.
Software and performance
For the software, the smartphone comes with Funtouch OS 12 and it’s currently based on Android 12 and of course, it’s pretty similar to the other Funtouch OS-running smartphones as this one comes with a more polished feel and look as everything is pretty easy to the eyes. As for the variant that we’re using. The smartphone comes with 64GB of RAM and then there’s 4GB of internal storage but of course, you can extend the RAM if you want depending on your storage.
The performance is the most exciting part about the smartphone. It comes with a Snapdragon 680 4G processor inside which is one of the newest in the market right now and meant for the low mid-range market and yes, the smartphone does perform everything that I need to. First, let’s talk about the benchmarks. Check out the benchmarks of the smartphone:
Screenshot 20220529 102703
Screenshot 20220529 102127
With the GeekBench score, we got a decent score on this one on both single-core and multi-core for a Snapdragon 680-running smartphone. While in 3D Mark Wild Life, we got a score of 450 and again, that’s a decent one for its price.
In our gaming test, we tried different games on the smartphone and as expected, it was fine and decent on Mobile Legends and we even tried it on Ni No Kuni and on Genshin Impact. We were able to run these heavy games on the smartphone despite being an entry-level to mid-range processor. What we saw is that the processor is heavily optimized as a lot of smartphones are using Snapdragon CPUs but of course, you must set it at the lowest settings to enjoy the games on the smartphone.
Camera
For the camera of the vivo T1x, it comes with 50MP + 2MP + 2MP rear camera setup and no, there’s no ultrawide lens on this one and as expected, it doesn’t excel like the V series or the X series smartphones of vivo but nonetheless, it does the job in case you just need to take photos and to upload it on social media.

As expected, at decent lighting conditions, the vivo T1x will do just fine as it can have better and sharper photos. However, at indoors, I’ve noticed that the colors are a little bit lacking on the smartphone and sometimes, it’s overexposed. The selfies that we took on the smartphone are noticeably lacking in colors as well and a bit overexposed
Verdict
The vivo T1x might not be the most attractive smartphone when it comes to specifications but the smartphone’s pricing for its hardware is definitely a looker as this one comes with a Snapdragon 680 processor and its SRP is only at Php8,999. The other aspects of the smartphone might not be the best but the processor is something that you can look forward to.
The vivo T1x can compete against smartphones like the Redmi Note 11 that have the same processor. You can now purchase the vivo T1x for Php8,999.
The newest flagship smartphone from vivo has finally arrived and it’s the vivo X80 Series smartphones that are co-engineered with ZEISS. Both smartphones packs a powerful hardware inside and a ZEISS camera along with unique features including the Zeiss T* coating and also the ZEISS filters.
The vivo X80 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor while the vivo X80 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in which both processors are on a flagship level. Despite having a different processor, both smartphones will still have the v1+ ISP which will improve the HDR performance and denoising in photos and videos.
The vivo X80 series smartphones will also have 12GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage with a 4GB extended RAM with the vivo X80 sporting a 4500mAh battery while the X80 Pro will sport a 4700mAh battery. They also come with 80W Wired Charging while the X80 Pro comes with 50W Wireless Flash Charging support.
