ASUS has recently updated their lineup of notebooks for the consumer market and it aims to be different from before as this time, they’re targeting content creators whether you’re planning on getting the VivoBook or the Zenbook but today, we’re gonna focus on the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED. the newest laptop for content creators.
Design and hardware
First things first, the design of the ASUS VivoBook 15 Pro OLED is pretty much made up of plastic. There’s nothing bad in there as having this build means that this one would be light as well considering that this one has a 15” display. But make no mistake because having this material as its body doesn’t mean that it feels cheap. It feels just fine considering the more minimalistic and industrial design of the notebook.
At the lid of the notebook, there’s the ASUS logo with a Chevron pattern, a design that is seen on most of the body of the VivoBook Pro 15 OLED. But unlike the other ASUS notebooks out there, this one doesn’t have a ErgoLift Hinge which would give me a better airflow on the notebook. But despite the larger size of the notebook, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED does have a lighter body than I expected at 1.65kg.
For the ports, this one comes in handy as we got here 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, 1x HDMI 1.4, micro SD card reader, 1x DC-In and 3.5mm audio jack on one side and then there’s the 2x USB 2.0 Type-A on the other side for your accessories. I know, not all of it is fast and the latest ports but it will do just fine if you need the basic I/O ports for a notebook.
As for the sound quality, this one comes in with Harman/Kardon speakers and honestly, the speaker quality and the loudness just come in at average for me. It will do just fine for me.
For the webcam, it comes with a 720p resolution and while the quality is what you can expect from its price, I do appreciate that ASUS has added a physical shutter on the webcam to protect your privacy.
Keyboard and touchpad
For the keyboard of the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED, this one comes with a full-sized keyboard with a numpad on the side. Unlike the other ASUS notebooks that utilizes the touchpad of the notebook as the numpad. The numpad feels great when you’re always using it on excel and other applications. Oh and there’s the backlit keyboard as well so you can use this keyboard anywhere.
For the function keys, this one comes with a smaller size, really, it’s not much of a problem for me but the thinner arrow keys is a little bit annoying for me. But thankfully, the notebook comes in with power button at the top right that also acts as a fingerprint scanner on the notebook. They finally ditched the fingerprint scanner at the touchpad of the notebook
As for the feel of it, well, the travel distance is shorter and I find it less tactile compared to other keyboards on notebooks. It took me some time to get used to it but after a while, typing on it was just fine. It’s definitely not the best keyboard out there for a notebook.
The touchpad of the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is spacious and decent enough. Yes, it’s responsive and follows my finger flawlessly and the surface is smooth and flawless as well however, clicking on it isn’t the best feel on a touchpad nonetheless, it works just fine. I find the touchpad of the notebook just fine for normal usage so really, not much of a problem in here.
Display
The display of the notebook is its best feature as this one comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display with 16:9 aspect ratio and of course, an OLED panel. It also comes with 600nits brightness, a 100% DCI-P3 Color Gamut. And the quality of the panel? It’s superb. It can definitely beat some of the panels on more expensive notebooks.
The blacks on the notebook is really good and there’s no glowing effect problem for me. Overall, the panel of the display is perfect for video editing or for photo editing as the display of the notebook is bursting out amazing and vivid colors and of course, you can use it outside just fine.
Performance
Inside the notebook is an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor along with 16GB of RAM and also an Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU. If you ask me, those are decent hardware for a midrange notebook for creators. The processor is very decent for video editing on Resolve and of course, the RTX GPU is capable for photoshop editing as well. Check out our benchmarks of the notebook:
PCMARK 1
3dmark timespy
CDM
cinebench single core 2
cinebench multicore 1
As you can see in our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 5900HX performed really well. In Cinebench R23, we just saw a fine single-core score of 1470 points while we got a multi-core score of 8939 which is just below Intel Core i9-9880H processor. While for PCMark 10, we got a score of 6070.
When it comes to SSD speeds, we got a read speeds of 3601MB/s with a 2833MB/s write speeds which is what I expected from the notebook but a PCIe 4.0 SSD would’ve made a big difference on the notebook. As for gaming, the RTX 3050 will be capable of most games in the market right now. We tested Horizon Zero Dawn in 1080p at favor performance settings and we got these results:
Verdict
Overall, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is made for those people who are into creating content or who want to use it as their main workhorse. The CPU of this one is definitely capable of whether you’re planning it on using for gaming or for work and the GPU is decent enough to run most games even at lowest settings. It’s not the most powerful one but the balance of its performance and portability is something that we could look forward to.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2022 is one of the gaming laptops that we’ve reviewed, and we enjoyed. The gaming notebook comes with powerful hardware inside including an Intel Core i9-12900H and also a Nvidia RTX 3070Ti graphics inside which is definitely one of the best out there in the market right now.
Design and hardware
The design of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2022 comes with an all-black design with a minimalistic look that is fit for a 2022 gaming notebook. Unlike the Zephyrus G14 and the G15, the M16 does have a dot matrix design but it doesn’t have the light at the back but I do like reflections at the lid of the notebook
For the notebook’s hinge, you can go over 180-degrees and with the company’s ErgoLift hinge, you can have a flexible viewing angle but also give the notebook a better airflow and of course, there’s the rubber at the lid as well which will make the notebook stick it into once place.
The design of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2022 isn’t complicated, and they do have a clean black chassis on the notebook with the right size for the keyboard with no numpad. I actually like the black finish of the notebook, but it does attract a lot of fingerprints if you’re on the oily side.
For the ports, it comes almost everything that you need. There’s the HDMI 2.0b, RJ45, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C with Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C with DP1.4 and PD3.0, and 3.5mm audio jack on one side and then there’s the USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, and microSD UHS-II on the other side. However, I would prefer having an SD card reader instead of microSD card reader.
Thankfully, there’s a webcam on this one so you can still use it for zoom calls for your WFH or school needs. While for the dimensions and weight, it might be a 16″ notebook but this one feels like a 15″ because of its size.
As for the display of this one, the notebook comes with a 16-inch QHD+ 2560×1600 display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and honestly, I enjoy the aspect ratio of this one as a taller display shows more content for work and also for gaming. There’s the 165Hz refresh rate and also 3ms response time as well which is perfect for playing games like Valorant. Oh and the colors? They’re really great as well.
ASUS calls it the ROG Nebula Display that basically offers the best experience for their notebooks. With this, you can get better colors and also a faster refresh rate and also response time which I really like.
Keyboard and trackpad
Like what I’ve said earlier, the laptop offers a minimalistic look, and it doesn’t have a numpad on the side but honestly, I only use the numpad on selected games. Typing on the keyboard feels comfortable to type on and I love the tactile feel on this one when typing. It’s pretty good for typing or for gaming. The keycaps size is fine as well and typing on it was a little bit better than the previous generation.
There might be no numpad on this one but they do have dedicated keys for the Armoury Crate and also for the mic and the speaker which are all useful. I would love it if ASUS can add a fingerprint scanner on the power button of the notebook though.
It does offer RGB as well however, it isn’t a per-key RGB which is a little bit disappointing considering that this one is an ROG notebook. As for the trackpad, the size of it is large enough to use for daily tasks. It’s comfortable and large enough to use but it’s definitely not the best one that we’ve tried and it’s definitely not made for gaming. Still, use a mouse for that one.
Software & Performance
Of course, the notebook comes with some software and quirks inside. The notable one is the Armoury crate and yes, it’s definitely useful. For the uninitiated to ROG products, the Armoury crate brings everything that you need to monitor your notebook including the temps and of course, control the performance and speeds of the notebook. You can also change the colors of your RGB keyboard and create profiles with it.
As for the performance, the notebook that we have comes with an Intel Core i9-12900H processor along with 32GB of RAM and also an Nvidia RTX 3070Ti but of course, you could upgrade that if you want to go higher. We tested it in different benchmarks and here are the results that we got:
PCMark
CrystalDiskMark
PCMark talaga
cinebench single core
Cinebench multi core
We also noticed that the fans get really noisy when you’re at the maximum performance on the notebook and as for the vents, it’s kinda weird as it’s facing the monitor which tends to heat up the monitor.
Games are running at 1080p at high settings
Watchdogs 2Shadow of the Tomb RaiderHorizon Zero Dawn
Verdict
Overall, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2022 is a decent gaming notebook. It got the perks that you need on a gaming notebook and it might not be a perfect one but it still is powerful and jampacked with features however, it still comes with a little bit of price but again, this is an ROG notebook and it has a brand that you can be really proud of.

The Zeiss T* coating gives you better optics that lessens the reflection and flares on the lenses. This is important as it will give you a better output on sunset shots and also on night lights. This gives you clearer shots and better night shots with the ZEISS Super Night Camera. Check out some of the shots that we took using the smartphone:

For videos, the smartphone features ZEISS Cinematic Video which is a very helpful feature for those who love to take videos. With this feature, you can take photos and videos with the effects of ZEISS Anamorphic lenses and create unique oval flares on videos and photos in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Not just that, there’s movie LUTs as well that adds mood to your videos and it’s a great substitute if you don’t have your camera.
Another unique feature of the smartphone is the vivo V1+ Chip. You can’t find this in other smartphones and with this chip, you can bring your imaging to the next level as it helps in video denoising and also the HDR performance of the smartphone. With this chip, it will give you a big advantage when you are shooting photos and videos on the smartphone as it will give you a better output. This feature is unique and even other flagship smartphones don’t have this one.
Having an amazing camera isn’t enough so thankfully, the vivo X80 Pro features Gimbal Portrait Camera in where you can shoot more stable videos and photos with its 12MP professional portrait lens. Thanks to the Active Centering OIS system and the 360 Horizon Leveling Stabilization, shooting videos even while moving won’t be a problem anymore on the smartphone. Panning for B-rolls or just simple shoots will be seamless on the smartphone. This is one of its best features as this one is unique on vivo and panning videos is definitely smooth.
The vivo X80 Pro also uses the 50MP customized Sensor and it does have a lot of benefits including getting better night photos and videos on the smartphone and of course, having a high sensitivity as well. This custom Samsung sensor has a size of 1/1.3 inches which is a very big advantage to capture more light, have sharper photos, and to have better quality videos.

Looking for a monitor that you can use for your work from home needs, but you don’t want it to be too edgy or too messy on your table? Well, you might want to take a look at the Lenovo Q24i-1L, it’s one of the monitors of Lenovo that are made for people who don’t want a no-nonsense features that they can use for their everyday usage.
Design
The Lenovo Q24i features a 24-inch display, and it does have a clean look compared to other monitors in the market as this one features a minimalistic but clean look thanks to its stand and the design of the monitor and again, it’s perfect for those who are working from home.
First, it features a metal base that looks like giant trackpad but no, it isn’t and there are no special features for that one, but I would definitely love it if it has a wireless charger for your smartphone but for this one, placing your smartphone on this one is ideal as you can look at your smartphone whenever you have a notification.
There’s a metal stand as well and again, it does look minimalistic. Since this one doesn’t block the metal base of the monitor, you have more space below where you can place your smartphone, tablet, or your notebook. I do actually like their design choice for this one. If you don’t want to use the stand, you can remove the back and mount it on a VESA stand.
At the back, it only features a small amount of ports at the back. We have HDMI 1.4, 1x VGA and 1x 3.5mm audio out. Unfortunately, that’s not much of a port for this one and there’s no DP or USB-C for other notebooks or other devices.
Display
For the display of this notebook, it features a 23.8-inch display with a brightness of 250cd/m^2 and then there’s the 16:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1920×1080 and a contrast of 1000:1. The panel for this one uses an IPS one, so the colors produced are fine.
As for the viewing angles, it was actually good as well thanks to its panel and if you’re planning on using this monitor for gaming, it features a 75Hz refresh rate which isn’t that much but it will do just fine for basic office work but not much for gaming as 144Hz or 120Hz displays are getting more affordable these days. There’s AMD FreeSync as well but it won’t make much of a difference and then there’s the Eyesafe Display Certification for longer usage
Like what I’ve said earlier, it’s minimalistic as this one comes with thin bezels on the side and some bezel below. You can also find the controls for the display below and it does come with a user-friendly menu.
Verdict
Overall, the Lenovo Q24i-1L is made for those people who are looking for a monitor that is made for consumers who are looking for a monitor that they can use for everyday usage and also for work. There’s not much of a gaming features for this one but the IPS panel of this notebook will be fine for finishing your work on spreadsheets or doing your work.
Looks like the unthinkable is about to happen as EU has mandated that all small and medium-sized electronics that will be sold in EU by 2024 must have a USB-C charging port. This means that every smartphone that will be released from 2024 must have a USB-C port including the iPhones.
The new law by EU states that member states must have a sustainable to reduce e-waste which will help the consumers as well to have a single charger for all devices. This also means that you won’t have to buy new chargers every time you change your smartphone.
Due to this law, Apple has no choice but to switch to USB-C ports for their devices including the iPhone and their other devices including the iPads.
