This allows Samsung users to repurpose their smartphones once they have a new one. With Galaxy Upcycling at Home, users can easily turn their old Galaxy phones into smart home devices, such as a childcare monitor, a pet care solution, and other tools that will elevate their daily lifestyle.

Power up your home with the SmartThings app and your old Galaxy smartphones

The Galaxy Upcycling at Home program can enhance your old device’s sound and light-control features by repurposing its built-in sensors. This will then enable you to transform your old device through SmartThings Lab, an in-app feature of the SmartThings app.

Here are the amazing things it can do for you at home:

  • Equipped with an upgraded AI solution, it can intelligently detect sounds, record them and send them directly to your smartphone.
  • Devices can also be used as a light sensor, allowing it to automatically turn on the lights or the TV if the room gets darker.

Meanwhile, Samsung explained that to continuously detect sound and light, devices need to be actively operating. With this, they geared the program with battery optimization solutions to minimize battery usage.

Samsung has rolled out the beta service for Galaxy Upcycling at Home in the US,
the UK and Korea.

Samsung launches WindFree Air Conditioner with an air-purifying filter

Samsung wants you to keep your home comfortable and safe with the launch of its new innovative appliance: the WindFree Plus with Air Purifier PM 1.0.

Equipped with PM1.0 Filter, the WindFree Plus with Air Purifier PM 1.0 makes sure to eliminate bacteria, allergens, and other microorganisms in your space. Hence, aside from cooling down the temperature at your home, it also works as a standalone purifier that can guarantee 99% cleaning efficiency.

Samsung also packed it with an Auto Clean function that removes moisture, preventing the build-up of bacteria and odors at your home. It also has an anti-bacterial coating that helps protect you and your loved ones against dangerous airborne particles.

Aside from that, the cameras are confirmed to have only three lenses which is a bummer as their flagship S series smartphones pack a triple-lens rear camera

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with a lot of new features including some new ones in the industry. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the first foldable smartphone to come with an under-display camera and it will also support a special type of S Pen that is made for the smartphone.

The smartphone will still have the same form factor as before and it is still expected that the smartphone will come with a triple-lens rear camera with a different design from the Galaxy S series smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is also expected to come with 120Hz refresh rate on both inner and outer displays

Both smartphones will also come with Gorilla Glass Victus so expect that the smartphones will come with a stronger and tougher glass.

It’s official! The realme 8 Pro is coming to the Philippines and we’re pretty excited with what we’re getting in here as the realme 8 Pro features 108MP camera with its Samsung HM2 camera sensor that can capture more pixels which gives us brighter and sharper photos in one shot.

Aside from the camera changes, the realme 8 Pro now features a smaller and thinner body which is a big design change from the realme 7 Pro. At the back of the smartphone is realme’s slogan in big bold letters. DARE TO LEAP.

This isn’t glass but the back of the realme 8 Pro is unique and it’s one of the best unique materials that we’ve seen on a smartphone. It has a matte feeling at the back of the smartphone but it’s light and it isn’t slippery to the hand thanks to its texture.

The smartphone is super thin too at 8.1mm thin and it’s very light at 176g. Thankfully, the smartphone still comes with USB-C port along with the headphone jack. And for the fingerprint sensor, we got here an in-display one that works just fine.

As for the display, the smartphone is still bringing in a Super AMOLED display with up 180Hz Touch Sampling rate to give you a more responsive experience. Unfortunately, the display is still at 60Hz

Despite being thin and light, the realme 8 Pro still managed to fit in a 50W SuperDart Charge on the smartphone and also a large 4500mAh battery inside which is pretty good. Honestly, I don’t know why they brought down the charging from 65W to 50W.

As for the camera, we have here a 108MP primary camera with Samsung HM2 sensor along with the 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and also a 2MP B&W lens. For the selfies, we got here a 16MP in-display selfie camera. The camera has improved deeply and they’ve also introduced some cool new features for the camera of the smartphone including 9-in-1 pixel binning which combines pixels to give you a better image quality under dim light.

They are also introducing the country’s first Starry time-lapse video for smartphones in where the realme 8 Pro takes 16 individual photos every 15 seconds for 4 minutes. They are also introducing the tilt-shift time-lapse video on smartphones in where the smartphone can give you cool and unique effects. Here are some of the shots that I took using the smartphone and you can clearly see the improvement of the camera of the smartphone compared before.
