The smartphone aims to go head to head with other mid-range smartphones that feature a pop-up camera and a full-screen display. So what can we expect from the Y9 Prime 2019? Well, we do have a Kirin 710F processor inside and also a triple lens camera at the back.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 comes with triple lens camera at the back that supports AI which is one of its main features and of course, the display that doesn’t have a notch or hole. The Huawei Y9 2019 is priced at Php12,990 which is very reasonable for its features and specs.
The smartphone will be available in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, and Emerald Green. It will be available at Huawei Experience Stores and partner retailers nationwide. Pre-order starts this July 5 until July 12 and those who pre-order will get a Bluetooth Speaker worth Php1,790.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is really an interesting smartphone due to its features such as the full-screen display and also the pop-up camera of the smartphone. There’s a triple lens camera too with a 16MP main camera with 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor and the main feature of this smartphone — the 16MP auto pop-up selfie camera.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is a big smartphone. We got here a 6.59-inch Full HD Display with no notch which is really immersive when watching videos or just playing games. It’s actually a big advantage as the smartphone doesn’t have any notch or holes that block my view.
The smartphone also features a plastic build but it does look like glass from afar and then there’s the unique dividing line in the smartphone with a texture shimmering at the back just below the fingerprint scanner. It’s a cool look on the smartphone that adds beauty to it. Speaking of the back of the smartphone, the smartphone does pack a curved back which helps in the ergonomics and grip to the smartphone. However, I will still suggest that you use the included case in the box.
Thankfully, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is now utilizing a USB-C port which is getting common on smartphones these days. Unfortunately, the smartphone doesn’t support fast-charging so you’re stuck with the included 10W charger out of the box. But hey, at least there’s a headphone jack in the smartphone.
Yep, the smartphone might pack a fingerprint scanner at the back, however, the smartphone doesn’t have a face unlock. Maybe because Huawei wants you to lessen the use of its front-facing camera or because of the selfie camera is too slow to fully pop-up.
Again, the smartphone doesn’t pack a notch and it’s beautiful to look at just like other smartphones with no notch. The display of the smartphone is just fine and I have no qualms about it and I can freely use it outside under direct sunlight without problems at all.
The triple lens rear camera of the smartphone isn’t the best in its class however, I applaud that the smartphone does have a wide-angle lens. Most of my shots at well-lit conditions are okay. Overall, it’s nice to see that we have smartphones like this one, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. The full-screen display is a refreshing take from Huawei and it’s really immersive for watching videos and gaming. Yep, there’s a wide-angle lens on the smartphone which I like but I was not expecting a really great performance with it considering that this smartphone belongs in the Y-series.

Vivo has just unveiled their newest technology at MWC 2019 Shanghai and it’s the 120W Super FlashCharge. Yep. It’s the fastest fast charging tech right now and it’s capable of fully charge your smartphone with 4000mAh battery in just 13 minutes.
According to their lab test, a smartphone with a 4000mAh battery will be able to charge up to 50% in just 5 minutes and up to a full charge in 13 minutes. The 120W charging tech will also require a customisable Type-C data cable and charger to enable this.
However, Vivo didn’t announce if there’s a future smartphones that will come with this technology but hey, at least we’re seeing a new tech like this from Vivo.
