Nvidia Unveils the GeForce RTX 2060 at CES 2019

Looks like CES 2019 is jam-packed with announcements as NVIDIA has just announced their newest mid-range card, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with Turing architecture. Just like the other 20-series cards, it will bring exceptional perfromance and graphics enhanced by ray tracing and AI capabilities.

The RTX 2060 will be 60% more powerful than the GTX 1060 which is still powerful in today’s standards and also the company’s most popular GPU and yes, the RTX 2060 can even beat the GTX 1070Ti. Thanks to Turing’s RT cores and Tensor cores, RTX 1060 can run Battlefield V with ray tracing at 60fps.

RTX 2060 will come with 6GB of GDDR6 memory and 240Tensor cores that can deliver 52 teraflops of deep learning horsepower which helps improve DLSS or Deep Learning Super Sampling which is slowly getting support from different game developers including Battlefield which will come with DLSS soon.

Nvidia RTX 2060 will arrive starting this January 15 for $349 (Php18,239~)

ASUS Zenbook S13 has the thinnest bezel on any notebook

When it comes to fine ultrabooks, ASUS Zenbooks will always be on my list and this time at CES, they’ve just unveiled their most insane notebook with the ASUS Zenbook S13 UX392. The notebook features a 2.5mm bezels which is the thinnest in the market right now and yet, the company has managed to bring a webcam at the top of the display with a slightly thicker bezel.

Thanks to its bezel, the ASUS Zenbook S13 UX392 will come with a 13.9-inch Full HD display with NanoEdge bezel. Inside the notebook is an Intel 8th generation processor along with support of up to 16GB of RAM. The ASUS Zenbook S13 UX392 will also come with an Intel UHD Graphics 620 or a discrete GPU from Nvidia — the NVIDIA GeForce MX150. The storage? It can support up to 1TB of PCIe x4 SSD.

 

The metal chassis is CNC-milled from a block of aluminum and it will come with a 12.9mm thickness which is really portable. The notebook will still come with a USB Type-A port along with two USB-C ports in which one of them is use for charging.

Inside is a Nvidia RTX-series GPU which will make sure that you can run games on this one. This device is a little bit thick compared to the Surface Pro so don’t expect too much from it. But hey, it’s still a gaming 2-in-1 that can definitely replace your desktop.

The latest notebook from HP belongs to their gaming line — the Omen 15. The notebook features an Intel Core i7-8750H processor, RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU, and 16GB of RAM. The best part? The notebook features a 1080p 240Hz IPS display which is a first in the notebook industry.

Just like other gaming brands, the HP Omen 15 features its own gaming feel and design with the X at the back to highlight that gaming means business in this notebook. it also features an LED keyboard and it weights 5.3 pounds. The Omen 15 also comes with a regular display which starts at $1370 (Php71,720~) while the price of the HP Omen 15 with 240hz is yet-to-be-disclosed.

Both the Xiaomi Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7 has gone through TENAA and the pictures of both smartphones have just leaked out. Both smartphones will sport a gradient color. The Redmi Note is expected to have a 6.3-inch display and a 3900mAh battery and it will have a 159.2 x 75.2 x 8.1mm dimensions.

Xiaomi has recently been teasing a Redmi smartphone expected to sport a 48MP camera. The smartphones are expected to be unveiled this January 10 so better wait for the announcement on that day.

Huawei P30 Render Leaks Out

Looks like the next generation P-series smartphone of Huawei has leaked out. The 3D renders of the Huawei P30 have revealed that the smartphone will have a triple-camera setup similar to last year but it seems that the smartphone loses the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner so we can assume that the smartphone might support an in-display fingerprint scanner similar to the Mate 20 series.

Aside from that, the notch looks smaller now and it now sports a tear-drop notch similar to the Huawei Mate 20 and it is expected to have a size of 6-inches. The dimension of the smartphone is 149.1 x 71.4 x 7.5mm but the camera’s protruding camera brings it to 9.3mm thickness.

Surprisingly, the smartphone will sport a USB-C port with a headphone jack which is missing on the Huawei P20 series.

The Huawei P30 series is expected to be revealed this February at MWC 2019.
