Things you can do with a Samsung Smart TV

The Samsung Smart TV on at the Event at Seventh High

Smartphones are very popular nowadays, thanks to the apps it makes our smartphones enjoyable and fun to use.   What if we combine the word smart to the word TV? What if there are a lot of things that we can do with the TV?.  Fortunately, Samsung brings us the all new Samsung Smart TV. What ‘s the difference?, well the Samsung Smart TV offers us a lot of cool features which normal TVs doesn’t have.

Since Samsung Smart TV has a lot features, I’ll tell you some things that you can do with a Smart TV. Well here they are:

1.  Watch your favorite shows and tweet about it
Samsung Smart TV has a built in social hub which allows you to tweet about it or even post it in your Facebook. Example, when you’re watching Maria Clara (which most of my friends especially girls watch) and you saw Clara slap Mara’s face. It would be fun if you’re the one who tweeted about it first. Fortunately, Samsung Smart TV can help you do that for you. You can watch Maria Clara while tweeting about it without grabbing your laptop or your mobile phone.

2. Movie Marathon w/ Friends in 3D!
Movie Marathon is one of the best things to do to enjoy this boring summer nights. Fortunately, Samsung Smart TV has 3D capabilities. All you need is a 3D glass and connect it to the Smart TV. Oh, did I tell you that you can convert those 2D videos to 3D?, yes, that’s possible now. The first in the industry. Imagine watching your old movies converted in to 3D. cool huh?.

3. Skype!
Yep, There’s the skype app on the Samsung appstore. It would be fun to use Skype on the large screen. Call your friends or relatives just to brag that you’re using the Smart TV for Skype

4. Browse the internet when you’re bored
There’s a built-in browser in your Smart TV. So if you want to check out the latest news on blogs (Oh BTW, Don’t forget to check my blog everyday!). You can use the browser and brag it to your friends. haha just kidding

An Experience with the Samsung Smart TV

Last night, I was invited to the Samsung Smart TV Bloggers conference at Seventh High at Fort Bonifacio and I got a chance to meet with some bloggers and of course I got to play with the Samsung Smart TV with the Samsung Galaxy Tab as the remote. Oh and I want to thank Kessa and Adrian, you guys are the best!

I can’t upload the pictures yet because I don’t have the USB port for my camera but thank God, we have press shots. I just upload those photos on my next posts. Anyway here are some of things that I like & dislike about the Samsung Smart TV:

1. The Samsung Smart TV is really smart. It has a feature called the Smart Hub where you can access your apps and a lotta more. And yes, Samsung Apps is present on this one. There a few apps and games on the store and they target 1000 apps this year for the Smart TVs.

2. Social networking sites on your TV. You can check out your Facebook and twitter account on it while watching the TV. Pretty cool.

3. The remote app for the Smart TV is available on the Android OS and the iOS. As I told you earlier, I used the Samsung Galaxy Tab as the remote. Well, you can also use your iPhone or Galaxy S as the remote for your Samsung Smart TV. Unfortunately, when you tried the Smart TV remote app, it took ages to navigate. I don’t know why it responds so slow.

4. The web browser supports youtube and HTML 5 but the web browser is waaaaaay to slow. It took us almost a century before Kessa’s Blog load. My blog loads fine and but navigating to it is really hard. it doesn’t have a trackball, mouse pad or anything. You’ll just rely on the 4-way button.

5. Skype is downloadable on the Samsung Apps. Too bad, you need to buy the webcam, mic & others which costs P6990.00 (I heard!). But it is nice to use skype on a Full HD screen. You can even adjust the screen of the one you’re talking with and the quality of the webcam looks well.

6. 3D looks awesome. Too bad you’ll need to use 3D glasses in order to view those 3D videos and images. But there is a 2D to 3D feature which converts those 2D videos to 3D. Cool huh?!

Well, those are just some of my first impressions the Samsung Smart TV. I’ll tell more about it on my next posts. Yes, there will be a lot of posts about the Samsung Smart TV. oh Btw, AFAIK the SRP is P199,990.00

I’m not a fan of Blackberry since I haven’t own a Blackberry device yet but I find the Blackberry very cool because of some of its features. Anyway, The next update of the Blackberry OS, the BB OS 6.1 features Pinch-to-zoom which you may be familiar with. The video after the break also features the unannounced Blackberry Bold 9930

Tablets are now popular these days, thanks to the iPad. And now HTC has joined the game with their newest tablet, the HTC Flyer. HTC Flyer is a 7″ tablet with some unique features which other tablets doesn’t have including those digital pen and the Onlive gaming. check out the video to know more about it.

This is one cool tablet!. I love the Onlive and digital pen feature. I might use the digital pen feature in school to record what my teacher says and take down all the notes that she wrote. I doubt that Onlive will work on the Philippines and besides, it requires a high speed connection

No word on the price and when it will arrive in the Philippine shores.

I emailed Sony Ericsson Philippines about when Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will be released here in the Philippines and they said that it will be release on the 2nd quarter this year. But it may be subject to change
