Cheapest iPad & iPad 2 in the Philippines

1

Many people ask this question, “Where can we find the cheapest iPad in the Philippines?”.  iPad & the upcoming iPad 2 or some people say, “the giant iPod touch” is listed as number one on my Gadget Wishlist. Because of this magical device, a lot of companies was inspired to make one too. Some of those tablets fail, some of them are too cool and some of those tablets mixed up with a landline. But most people still prefer the Apple iPad because.

#1 It uses iOS which offers a lot of apps and games on the appstore.

#2 It is made Apple, Bragging rights baby!
Now the question is, where can you find the cheapest iPad in the Philippines. There are a lot of stores selling cheap iPads but I still prefer Kimstore. I bought my iPod touch there a few months ago. Aside from Apple products they’re selling Game Consoles, Cameras & a lotta more.
In Apple Online Store the Apple iPad starts at P23,990.00. Apple Resellers sells iPad at the same price too. I don’t know if Charlie from PhilMUG sells iPad but if you want a discounted Mac, just send a private message to Charlie and you can get a little discount from him.
Kimstore sells Apple iPad at these prices:

Apple iPad (WIFI ONLY)
16GB P22,300
32GB P26,300
64GB P31,000

Apple iPad 3G with WIFI
16GB P29,000
32GB P32,600
64GB P37,200

ePad Android Tablet hands-on review

0

I’ve got a chance to play with another gadget again. This time it is the Android tablet ePad, a 10″ inch Android Tablet and a iPad knock-off. As you can see from the design this one is truly inspired by Apple iPad but this one has many different features.

BODY & HARDWARE
When you hold this one you can feel that the body is made up of pure plastic. The back of the ePad is not aluminum but a plastic too. But because of this it made the Android cheaper and affordable for all. But because of the resistive touch screen the device lacks multi-touch. The iPad is way better than this because of its capacitive screen.

SOFTWARE
This device is using Android 2.1 a.k.a. Eclair and I don’t think that there will be upgrade to Froyo or Android 2.2 anytime soon. The device has it’s own marketplace called slideme. Some of the games and applications are free while the others cost $0.99 and up. This thing is too slow and if you are an impatient guy, I think you will throw this thing because it is too slow.

One of the problems that I’ve encountered is that some of the games and applications that I’ve downloaded is too small. and you can see it on the video that the game only uses a small part of the screen and the applications crashes most of the time. Some of them are stretched and there are only few apps and games that uses the native resolution

CONNECTIVITY
This thing has Wi-Fi, USB Port and a LAN port. So if you can’t find any access points, this one is useful :D. Too bad, 3G is not present in this device.

CONCLUSION
The Android ePad is just a waste of money. This thing is so slow, The resistive screen is a crappy one and it is just a iPad KIRFed.

Mac Appstore goes live in the Philippines | How to download Mac Appstore

1

Mac Appstore has been expected to be release on 1:00am Philippine time but it seems that it was released too early and many people are already experiencing errors maybe because of too many people around the world wants to download the update, OS X 10.6.6 to be exact.

Twitter App

There are 1000 available applications on the Mac Appstore but don’t expect to see $0.99 apps just like in the iTunes store. Some apps are cheaper in the Mac Appstore like Aperture which costs $200 on the Apple online store but only $80 on the Mac Appstore.

One of my favorite app is the twitter app for mac, pictured above which is free. Some cool games like Flight Control, Harry Potter years 1-4 & Angry birds are also available. Angry birds cost $4.99 while the Harry Potter cost $50, a little bit pricey huh?.
All in all, the Mac appstore is cool just like its brother, the iTunes store. You can buy apps using the apple ID that you also use in the iTunes store. Haven’t tried buying a paid app since I don’t have a credit card. So if you are already familiar iTunes store, you can get use to Mac Appstore easily. To get this on your Snow Leopard Mac, just update your software to 10.6.6 and you’re good to go

10 Fun Things I Can Do with a new Lenovo Laptop

0

There are many things that we can do to a laptop but here are the things that are on the top of my list

1. Throw it!, haha just kidding. With 320 GB inside, I will transfer ALL of my HD videos and pictures to my laptop. I don’t need to use that bulky external hard disk anymore!.

2. Post, blog, tweet, lurk and plurk with this laptop!. And tell them that I have a new Lenovo Laptop

3. Slap my friends using this laptop!, haha just kidding.  Hell yeah, I’d like to brag it to my friends, classmates and relatives that I have the coolest lenovo laptop!.

4. Get connected via Wifi and video chat with my friends and relatives!

5. With Intel i3 processor and nVidia Graphics inside, I can get to install and play my favorite games like prototype!.

6. Write a blog review of Lenovo G460. I find it fun to review a gadget especially a laptop.

7. Our hero said that pen is mightier than a sword but today, laptop is mightier than a pen because I can do everything in a laptop right now, especially Lenovo G460. I can write my assignments and homeworks on this thing instead of writing them on a piece of paper. I know that doing a homework is not fun, but can you imagine that you have a new Lenovo laptop? isn’t that inspiring and fun to do your homework with a cool laptop?

8. Photoshop! Photoshop! Photoshop!. I just love photoshop. It is fun to edit and create pictures on a photoshop especially on a laptop juiced up with a nVidia graphics & with card reader on it, I could easily put my camera’s SD card to it.

9. I love editing videos too, but my current desktop is to slow for it, but if I can edit my videos on a lenovo laptop equipped with a i3 processor it would be very very fast!. Now that’s fun!

10. And lastly, after I transfer all of my HD movies to the new Lenovo laptop. I will connect it to the HDTV using the HDMI cable and watch our favorite movies with my family. Great bonding moment!.

Real Racing 2 Review: The best racing game for the iOS

0

The original Real racing for the iOS is surely stunning but what about Real Racing 2? is it better? or worse?. I’ve borrowed my cousin’s iPod Touch 3G since my iPod Touch is still at iStore Manila and saw that he has Real Racing 2 already in his iPod. So I’ve got a chance to play with it for some time.
The original Real racing received a lot of praises because of its awesome graphics and everybody expect that its sequel, Real Racing 2 will still be stunning just like the original game. A lot of racing games are present in the Apple App store but I think Firemint’s Real Racing 2 is the best racing game developed for the iOS.

Career mode was added to Real Racing 2 which promises 10 hours of gameplay with elimination, head to head, single cup races, championships and more. There are 5 game modes available in-game, they are Quick race, time trial, career, local multiplayer or online multiplayer.

You can also try  the multiplayer via local or online which is up to 16 players, a first for the iOS. Achievements and leaderboards on Game Center is also present but if you don’t have a Game Center for your iPhone or iPod Touch you can still be connected using Firemint’s Cloudcell technology

Car market was also added in the game, instead of unlocking cars in the original game in real racing 2 you need to buy them and those cars that are available in the market are real (oh I mean that they are really available in the real world not like in the original game, some of the cars were created by firemint). You can buy those cars using the in-game currency that you can earn by racing. There are 30 available licensed cars in the game  which include McLaren, Ford, Nissan & more. You can check out the list of cars at http://www.firemint.com/r2

My favorite new feature of Real Racing 2 is the car damage. Yes, you can see the car damage but it will take a lot of bumps before you can see the damage but hey, this is an iPhone game, Gran Turismo PSP has no car damage feature.

When you start the game, you will be given a small amount of cash and you will obviously need that to buy a car and as I said earlier there are 30 available cars in the game which I think is already enough but Gameloft’s GT Racing Academy has a hundred cars on its garage. So Firemint please, add more cars to your car market I hope that there will be updates to add some new cars.

You can still choose whether you like your car to be controlled using the accelerometer or the touch screen. I’ve notice that controlling the car using the accelerometer has been improved, I’ve feel comfortable with that and I prefer that over the other control mode. There are also 5 camera views that you can choose from.

The graphics of the original game made our jaws dropped already but real racing 2 has been optimized for OpenGL ES2 and retina display. The graphics has been improved, there are blurry effects, the cars became more realistic but I notice that it lacks anti-aliasing on the iPod Touch 3G. Maybe it is just a bug or something but the graphics of the game is better

All in all, Firemint offers us another “must-have” game for our iOS device. The graphics are crisp, the gameplay is awesome, multiplayer and gamecenter support is present. This is one of the best game in the iOS and I recommend you guys to get at the iTunes store for only $9.99.

I’m sure you’ll find the game worthy. if you want to buy it just check it out at http://itunes.apple.com/ph/app/real-racing-2/id386568787?mt=8 and if you want to check Firemint’s website just click here.
