ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2025) GZ302 Hands-on and First Impressions

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is probably one of the coolest gaming products from ASUS. It combines both portability and power in one package. For the uninformed, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is the tablet variant of the Flow series and it comes with the latest AMD processor inside which makes it one of the most powerful tablets out there which is perfect for gaming.

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 retains its portable form factor. The tablet comes with a magnetic keyboard cover and it does its job just fine however, it’s not as ideal as using a laptop form factor but of course, there’s the ROG Flow X13 for that one. The Flow Z13 is meant for people who want to game on a portable tablet. At the back, there’s the kickstand that is easy to adjust thanks to the notch at the side. This also means that the tablet isn’t ideal for airports or when using it on your lap.

There’s a detachable keyboard on this tablet which is perfect if you just want to do gaming and just use a controller on the tablet which saves up more space for the tablet. As for the typing on the on keyboard, the keys are in the right size however, the feel of an elevated keyboard can definitely be felt which doesn’t give me the best typing experience. Nonetheless, it was better than the previous generation and I still find it comfortable to type on in the long run.

As for the ports, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 got most of the things that we need including a 2x USB-4 port with support for DisplayPort, 1x USB 3.2 Type-A, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x combo audio jack, and a 1x microSD card reader. This is actually a surprising amount of ports considering that this device is a tablet. They managed to fit in everything on this one.

When it comes to power, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor inside along with Radeon 8060s GPU inside. Surprisingly, this combination is extremely powerful for an ultra portable device. This even beats some of the dedicated graphic cards out there despite being an integrated graphics.

This laptop actually has better performance compared to my other laptop that has an Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics inside it. We’ll get down to the performance of this tablet in our full review of this tablet. The battery efficiency is noticeably better than the previous generation as well. It might not be that long but it’s able to last longer than I expected.

Verdict

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2025) GZ302 has fixed most of the issues that we encountered on the first generation. It now has a better battery life, a more powerful performance, more ports, and a better display. But of course, this still isn’t a perfect device as the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 GZ302 2025 still isn’t perfect for usage on the lap and the keyboard isn’t perfect on this one.

Nonetheless, I still love playing on this one as this tablet is extremely portable and I love playing on it especially with my Playstation 5 Controller.
