Lenovo to power FIFA World Cup 2026 operations with Intelligent Command Center

Lenovo has unveiled its Intelligent Command Center (ICC), a centralized operations platform designed to help FIFA manage the expanded FIFA World Cup 2026, which is set to become the largest edition of the tournament in history.

The technology platform is designed to provide FIFA officials with a real-time operational view of tournament activities across multiple venues, enabling faster coordination and decision-making during the month-long competition.

Centralized platform for tournament operations

According to Lenovo, the Intelligent Command Center will serve as a centralized, real-time operations platform that aggregates data from multiple operational systems into a single environment.

Instead of relying on separate systems that provide fragmented information, the ICC is designed to present tournament officials with a unified view of activities across venues. This allows FIFA to monitor both venue-level operations and tournament-wide trends through a shared operational dashboard.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will feature 48 national teams, 104 matches, 16 host cities, and will be staged across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, making it the largest tournament in FIFA World Cup history.

Built for FIFA’s Tournament Operations Center

The Intelligent Command Center is intended for FIFA’s operations teams and executives responsible for overseeing tournament logistics and coordination.

The platform will be integrated into FIFA’s Tournament Operations Center (TOC) in Miami, where officials will monitor activities across all host venues. Large displays will present live operational data and alerts, while key information will also be accessible through Lenovo tablets and other mobile devices assigned to authorized stakeholders.

Lenovo said the platform is designed to ensure that when operational issues arise, all relevant personnel have access to the same information simultaneously, helping improve coordination and response times.

Supporting real-time collaboration

As tournament operations span three countries and multiple venues, the ICC will facilitate communication between different operational teams in real time.

According to Lenovo, the platform enables updates to be shared immediately across functional areas, allowing officials to identify potential bottlenecks, operational risks, or disruptions earlier than with traditional siloed systems.

The company added that the unified platform is intended to support quicker, more informed decisions as tournament conditions evolve.

Lenovo responsible for platform development

Lenovo said it is responsible for designing and building the Intelligent Command Center, including the integration of operational data, dashboards, and decision-support tools.

The company is working with FIFA’s operations teams to ensure the platform aligns with tournament requirements while providing a consistent and reliable operational view for authorized stakeholders throughout the competition.

Beyond live monitoring

In addition to real-time operations, the Intelligent Command Center will support collaboration between tournament teams, pre-match scenario planning, and post-event analysis.

Lenovo said these capabilities will help FIFA evaluate operations across venues and improve execution throughout the FIFA World Cup 2026.
