The P60 Pro was put to the test through DXOMARK’s rigorous camera testing process, which evaluates a smartphone’s performance in photo, video, and zoom quality from an end-user perspective. The device’s primary camera boasts a 48MP RYYB sensor, 24.5mm equivalent auto-adjustable physical f/1.4 – f/4.0-aperture lens, AF, and OIS, while its ultra-wide camera has a 13MP sensor with a 13mm equivalent f/2.2-aperture lens and AF. The telephoto camera, on the other hand, has a 48MP sensor, a 90mm equivalent f/2.1-aperture lens, AF, and a 10cm minimum focus distance. The P60 Pro runs on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G chipset.

So, how did the Huawei P60 Pro fare in DXOMARK’s testing?

It scored an impressive 156 overall, with a photo score of 159, a bokeh score of 80, a preview score of 75, a zoom score of 158, and a video score of 147.

The P60 Pro’s wide dynamic range in landscape or portrait images, accurate auto-focus in photo mode, and high levels of detail with well-controlled noise in photo, video, and zoom were just a few of its standout features. TNT, Smart Group dominate PH mobile market with largest subscriber base

TNT and Smart lead the pack as the top mobile brands in the Philippines, according to a recent study conducted by Smart in partnership with market research firm NielsenIQ.

The study polled 1,175 Filipinos aged 18 to 60 who used and personally owned any mobile SIM from January 5 to April 3, 2023, and considered both single and multiple SIM users of mobile brands.

TNT emerged as the top mobile brand in the Philippines, with 46% of respondents claiming to own and use a TNT mobile SIM. This figure is significantly higher compared to the competition, further solidifying TNT’s position as the leading mobile brand in the country.

Meanwhile, Smart Prepaid and Sun Prepaid received 14%, and 1% of the respondents’ claimed ownership and usage, respectively.

Smart group leads in subscribers

Based on the same study, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is the leading mobile group in the country with a combined 59% of respondents claiming to use its brands, which include TNT, Smart Prepaid, and Sun Prepaid. This figure is significantly higher compared to its competitors, which further cements Smart’s position as the top mobile group in the country.

By region, TNT leads mobile brands in terms of claimed users across all surveyed areas except Mindanao. TNT leads in the Visayas with 60% of the surveyed respondents claiming to own and use a TNT mobile SIM, followed by Balance Luzon with 46%, and the Mega Manila area (i.e., Metro Manila Area + Rizal + Palawan) with 39% claimed TNT SIM users.

On the other hand, TM leads in Mindanao with 54% claimed SIM users, followed by TNT with 41% claimed SIM users.

The study had a sample size of 329 respondents in Mega Manila, 438 in Balance Luzon, 194 in Visayas, and 214 in Mindanao.

Smart: The Philippines’ Fastest and Best Mobile Network

Smart was the fastest mobile network in the country in Q1 2023, according to a separate report by Ookla, the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence.

This adds to Smart’s back-to-back recognition as the Philippines’ Best Mobile Network for Q1-Q2 2022 and Q3-Q4 2022, also by Ookla. To clinch this rare citation, Smart won both the Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Coverage awards within the same reporting periods of the firm, a first for a Filipino mobile operator.

LTO assures safety and security as it intros digital driver’s license

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) recently announced its plan to launch a digital driver’s license, replacing the interim system of printing the permit on the back of an Official Receipt. The digital driver’s license will be integrated into the LTO’s “SuperApp,” developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for the agency.

But, is it safe?

According to LTO chief Jose Arturo Tugade, the digital driver’s license will be as secure as the physical version because it will have the same security features. Moreover, it can be presented to law enforcement officers during apprehension, making it equivalent to presenting the physical driver’s license.

One of the advantages of the digital license is that motorists can use it for various transactions with the LTO, including renewal of permits and registration and online payments. This means that drivers won’t have to worry about losing their physical driver’s licenses or waiting in long lines just to complete transactions with the LTO.

LTO to simplify and digitize its services with the digital driver’s license

The move to digitize the driver’s license is part of the LTO’s efforts to simplify and digitize its services. The agency’s partnership with the DICT aims to enhance the digitalization of systems and processes within the LTO.

Despite the digital driver’s license benefits, some motorists are still hesitant about the idea. They are concerned about the possibility of hacking, identity theft, and other security issues. To address these concerns, the LTO assures the public that it will have the same security features as the physical version. They will also integrate it into the SuperApp, which has additional security features.
