A live image of the OPPO Find X5 Pro has leaked and the smartphone does offer a reflective rear panel or a mirror back but the most exciting feature of the smartphone is not that, but the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC inside and also a MariSilicon X NPU inside.
Other features that we can expect from the smartphone is a second-generation LTPO display and also a Hassleblad Imaging system on the smartphone. It is also expected to cvome with 5000mAh battery and up to 80W charging
Samsung has recently upgraded their Galaxy A52 5G with the launch of the Galaxy A52s 5G. The smartphone is very similar to the previous generation but this time, we got a faster processor that we can take advantage for gaming and of course, we still got 5G that enables us to download games faster and to have better latency in gaming.
Design and hardware
One of the noticeable things about the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is the build quality. Yes, it does have a similar design to the original Samsung Galaxy A52 5G and yes, it is still made up of plastic. Is it bad? Well, it doesn’t feel as premium as the Galaxy S series and IMO, it would be better if they opted for a glossy back just like the Galaxy A51 series.
Having a plastic build on the smartphone also means that the Galaxy A52s 5G is light unlike other smartphones but the variety of soft pastel colors that are available for the smartphone makes it more interesting for the consumers. When it comes to ergonomics, I actually like the feel of it despite having only slight curves on the smartphone. Its lightness makes it easy to use in one hand.
Below the smartphone is the USB-C port along with the headphone jack. Surprisingly, the smartphone still managed to have a headphone jack which is getting clunked out on midrange smartphones these days. On the right is where you can find the power button along with the volume rocker of the smartphone.
Another thing to add about the smartphone is that it now comes in water and dust resistance so you don’t have to be worried about sudden rain or pool accidents next time.
Display
Once again, Samsung has impressed us with the display of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G. The smartphone features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED. The size? It’s perfect for me whether I’m planning to use the smartphone for gaming or for watching movies on Netflix.
But how about the quality of the display of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G? It’s great as the colors are popping out of the screen and they are really vivid even when I’m using the smartphone in direct sunlight. The bezels on the smartphone are noticeable but it doesn’t get to the point that the smartphone is annoying to use because of the bezel. The punch-hole camera is small too, so it doesn’t block too much of the content on the display of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G.
As for the refresh rate, it comes with a 120Hz refresh rate which gives us a big advantage compared to other smartphones. Unfortunately, it isn’t dynamic, that’s why it doesn’t save too much battery but hey, at least it’s smooth and very responsive.
Battery life
Inside the smartphone is a 4500mAh battery and by the numbers, it does sound fine for its size. In our PC Mark Work 2.0 Battery test, we got a score of 10 hours and 7 minutes. That duration is on the average side but in our usage of the smartphone we tend to have a longer battery life on the smartphone which is good.
Software and performance
One of the finest software experiences that we have on smartphones right now can be experienced with One UI and inside the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, we got here One UI 3.1 based on Android 11. I’m expecting One UI 4 which will bring a lot of upgrades once it’s out for the smartphone but for now, let’s focus on what we have on the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G right now.
As expected, everything that we have in here is smooth thanks to the combination of the Snapdragon 778G 5G chip and its software and the UI is very easy to the eyes. As for the performance, we got here a big upgrade compared to the Snapdragon 750G that was on the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. First, let’s talk about the benchmarks:
In Antutu, we got a big leap in terms of performance from Snapdragon 750G which makes this smartphone a great choice for gamers.
In 3DMark Wild Life, we can see that the smartphone does perform 100% better than Snapdragon 750G which is a great benchmark to take note when it comes to gaming.
Lastly in Geekbench, the smartphone does perform a higher score in multi-core scores which gives us a clue that the smartphone performs better in rendering.
But the ultimate test for that is when it comes to gaming. First, the Snapdragon 778G 5G does perform well when it comes to thermals as the temperatures that we got in here were just warm and not that hot compared to the later Snapdragon 8 series smartphones. In our test, we were able to play League of Legends Wild Rift in 60fps and we were even able to play Genshin Impact at high settings with 30 fps. That’s a pretty considerable leap compared to the Snapdragon 750G if you ask me.
Camera
For the camera, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G got a 64MP main camera along with 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro and 5MP depth and for the front-facing camera, we got here a 32MP selfie camera. Since we got here a new processor inside, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G does perform and produce better shots compared to the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. Check out some of the shots that I took using the smartphone:
20211020 114700
20211024 142406
20211023 184740
20211024 142428
20220108 173555
20220108 173641
20220116 182152
20220108 173658
20211024 142416
20220108 173630
As you’ve noticed, the photos that we got on the smartphone are sharp and the dynamic range was good as well. I can’t say that this is the best camera smartphone in its price range but it’s definitely worth looking at. The night shots that we got were also brighter and better than I expected and the selfies on the smartphone weren’t the sharpest but it’s already nice enough for it to be uploaded on social media sites. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the camera of the smartphone.
Verdict
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G balances everything that we need on our everyday smartphone. It’s not a flagship smartphone but it does want to act like one. First, the processor is very decent and it’s an excellent choice for Samsung to go for Snapdragon 778G 5G and then there’s the 120Hz display which is comparable to some flagship smartphones out there. The camera of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is great as well and it performed better than I expected.
However, the smartphone falls short when it comes to build quality as the smartphone uses a matte plastic that doesn’t feel and look premium at all, but this comes with an advantage. What is it? Well, it isn’t prone to breakage unlike glass and the smartphone feels lighter with this material.
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is now available in the Philippines for Php24,990.

In comparison, the iPhone 13 received an overall score of 130, with a photo score of 138 and a video score of 117.
Tablets these days have become popular as a lot of people are relying on these devices for school and for their work. They have become more powerful and have become more useful this pandemic as a lot of are using it for zoom, teams, and more as we need it for school or work. But of course, a tablet can never replace our smartphone that we use everyday but today, I have something to share, and this is how the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G has replaced both my iPad and my iPhone.
First, let’s talk about the iPhone and iPad that we’re using. So we have the iPhone 13 Pro and also the iPad Pro 2018. They’re good devices but it’s always a hassle to go out if you want to get the best of both worlds. It’s a hassle because I always need to bring a bag with me for my iPad.
While the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G combines the best features of a smartphone and a tablet. First, the smartphone comes with a powerful hardware inside which is perfect for gaming and then there’s the large foldable display which is perfect as a tablet alternative.
It can fit in my pocket
One of the reasons why the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G can replace both my iPad and the iPhone is that the smartphone can fit in my pocket. Once folded, the 6.2-inch display of the smartphone is already enough for me. It’s tall enough for viewing content, sending messages, but when I unfold it, it opens a lot more possibilities because of its 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display.
Some of you might argue that the display of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G might be smaller. While yes, I do agree with that one. However, the 7.6-inch display is already large enough for me to watch movies on Netflix and YouTube and of course, read articles and news. Compared to the iPad Pro that has a larger display, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is light enough to hold it in one hand so even if you’re relaxing and sipping your coffee in the morning, you can read an article in one hand and sip your coffee in another. It’s as easy as that.
Better size for gaming
The iPad Pro is too big for playing competitive mobile games
One of the things that I always do on my smartphone is gaming. I’ve been playing different games on the iPhone, iPad Pro and the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. As for me, the perfect size is the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. Why? The iPhone 13 Pro’s 6.1-inch is too small while the iPad Pro’s 11-inch display is too big. The sweet spot? The 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.
Why? First, it’s the perfect size for gaming as I can reach any buttons on the display of my smartphone so playing PUBG Mobile is a breeze on the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. The weight is simply fine too so if I’m playing games on the smartphone while on my bed, I didn’t have any problems.
The iPhone 13 Pro is smaller screen estate
Powerful and Flexible
The processors of all the devices that I’m currently using are powerful enough for any games and apps that I want to run with both devices capable of running games like Genshin Impact without a problem but what I like about Android devices is that they’re more flexible and you can do a lot more with its applications as we can play emulators and you can install other games with APK. Aside from that, Android is better for multitasking as we can have multiple windows simultaneously.
Better for productivity
Again, the smartphone comes with a large display so it’s already perfect for doing office work while on the go but unlike the iPad Pro and iPhone, I have a foldable display so I can fold the smartphone and use it in flex mode like a laptop. So typing on it was more natural and watching videos on flex mode was easier.
Not only that, because the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G comes with Samsung DeX as well so I can connect my keyboard and mouse to my smartphone and then connect it to an external monitor to enjoy a desktop-like UI. So the office files that I’ve started while I was away from home on Microsoft Office, I can continue it in Samsung DeX when I return home. On top of that, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G can handle up to three applications and two pop-ups at the same time while iPhone can only handle a single application.
With the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, I can have a single device for everything. I don’t need a separate device anymore as the smartphone features the best features of a smartphone – a portable and powerful device that can fit in your pocket and a tablet.
As for me, I’ve been using the smartphone for months now and most of the time, I don’t bring my tablet with me since the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is enough for my daily needs whether I need it for work or for gaming.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is now available in the Philippines and it starts at Php87,990 (128GB). Samsung also offers the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G for as low as Php3,666.25 per month at 0% interest for up to 24 months via credit card payment.
