Samsung is doubling down on compact AI with the official launch of the Galaxy Z Flip7, the latest iteration of its foldable phone series. Revealed on July 9 in New York, the Galaxy Z Flip7 merges intelligent software, high-end camera tech, and sleek engineering in its slimmest form yet.

Alongside the flagship device, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, making foldable innovation more accessible to users.

Both models are powered by One UI 8 and Android 16, with built-in multimodal AI, expanded cover screen functionality, and improved durability, showing that Samsung’s vision for the future of smartphones is both pocketable and powerful.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is Samsung’s most refined clamshell-style foldable yet. It sports the largest and brightest FlexWindow in the series at 4.1 inches, now extending edge to edge. Whether sending a quick reply, checking the calendar, or snapping selfies, users can now do more without flipping open the phone. The display supports 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness, enhanced with Vision Booster for outdoor visibility.

The device also boasts a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display that delivers vivid visuals and ultra-smooth interaction when unfolded.

Despite these upgrades, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the slimmest in the series, measuring just 13.7mm when folded and weighing only 188 grams. It features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the exterior and a thinner, stronger Armor FlexHinge, offering improved durability without compromising aesthetics.

Samsung also introduces the largest battery on a Flip model yet, 4,300mAh, supporting up to 31 hours of video playback, and powered by a 3nm custom Snapdragon processor with enhanced AI, CPU, and GPU performance. For the first time, the Flip also supports Samsung DeX, turning the phone into a mini workstation when connected to a screen.

On the camera front, users get a 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide dual rear setup, bolstered by Photo Assist, Portrait Studio, and Generative AI tools. Enhanced Nightography, real-time filters, and the new Zoom Slider on the FlexWindow make shooting and sharing content more seamless and fun.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE

For those looking for a more budget-friendly entry point to foldables, Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. It brings the core foldable experience in a simpler package, with a 6.7-inch main display, 50MP FlexCam, and Flex Mode for hands-free shooting and video calls.

The FE variant also brings Now Brief to the cover screen, offering optimized updates like calendar events, commute alerts, and weather, designed to fit the smaller display footprint. The Flip7 FE is available in minimalist Black and White color options, and retains the compact, portable form the Flip line is known for.

Samsung Galaxy G Fold: Tri-Fold Smartphone Could Debut at Unpacked 2025

A tri-fold device reportedly called the Galaxy G Fold. According to a recent report by Android Authority, the new tri-fold Galaxy could make its first official appearance at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event next week thanks to the animations that was scraped at the One UI 8 build.

The rumored Galaxy G Fold is expected to fold twice, giving users an even larger display that can be folded down to a more compact form. This is similar to what Samsung Displays has shown before, the Flex G Display. Leaks suggest that the device may feature three panels, transforming from a smartphone-sized form into a tablet.

We can expect that the Galaxy G Fold could be teased or officially announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 9, 2025, in New York. If launched, the device would compete the HUAWEI Mate XT Trifold that uses an S-shaped folding type of display.
