In this time of a pandemic, a lot of us are working at home or relying on our mobile devices to get connected or for online schooling and in the City of Manila, Mayor Isko Moreno has announced that the delivery of laptops, tablets, and pocket wifi will start next week for the teachers and students.
The city government will provide pocket wifi to teachers and sim cards with 10GB data allocation monthly for students.

The prices of these devices were not announced but it’s really nice to see that the government is supporting the local brands in transforming into digital by buying their products.

Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic, Samsung is still going strong with their recent announcement of their latest products including the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra. Just like last year, we’re getting two variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note20 and the Galaxy Note20 Ultra and of course, we’re gonna focus first on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra.
A better and more premium design
The design of the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ that we’ve reviewed before was already good and the Galaxy Note20 Ultra? It’s even better. The one that we got comes in black and I love the mirror effect at the back fo the smartphone and the more ergonomic design of the smartphone despite being pretty large thanks to its curve back of the smartphone and also on the display of the smartphone. But of course, both sides is still made up of glass.
There’s no bixby button in here but we got here the power button and also the volume button on the right side of the smartphone which is pretty accessible. Aside from that, the S-Pen slot has been moved from the right to the left side of the smartphone. It’s not really that annoying but if you’re used to the previous Galaxy Note devices, you’ll be annoyed that the slot has been moved to the other side.
At the back is a little bit annoying though as we got here a large camera module and it’s quite thick but it is still aesthetically pleasing to the eye but you’ll get annoyed with it once place it on a flat surface since it’s thick. But of course, the bigger the camera module, the more features you can fit into the camera of the smartphone.
It’s the best display out there
One of the things that I love on the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra is the display and again, it’s the best display on the smartphone that I’ve seen. We’re getting here a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a WQHD+ resolution but that’s not the best part because the smartphone comes with a 120Hz refresh rate with a punch-hole selfie camera and also a curved display. The bezels on this one is almost non-existent because of the curve. The smartphone is really bright too as this comes with a 1500nits display.
Feels like writing on a pen
As expected the, the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra gives an upgrade on the S-Pen and this time, it has a better latency which means that writing on the display of the Galaxy Note20 Ultra will be more responsive and smoother and feels like writing on real life paper. And of course, this one will also come with new air gestures which will take advantage of the accelerometers and the gyroscope of the S-Pen.
Ultra phone, Ultra camera
Like what I’ve said earlier, there’s a larger camera module on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra which means that we can get more features on the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra now features a 108MP wide-angle camera along with a 12MP ultra wide camera and also a 12MP telephoto camera and lastly, there’s the laser AF sensor while for the selfies, there’s the 10MP selfie camera.
As expected, the camera now supports 8K recording at 24fps which is one of the best in the industry and you can even go for 21:9 aspect ratio. Aside from that, the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra is now capable of zooming up to 50x which is I think is more ideal since the 100x space zoom of the Unfortunately, we cannot show you the sample shots as we got the engineering unit of the smartphone.
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra is an amazing smartphone. It has refined more features that was present on the previous generation and they’ve also added some including the 120Hz display which is really smooth and also the camera at the back that is now capable of zooming up to 50x.
The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra is now available for pre-order that starts at PHp67,990.

realme smartphones are known to be affordable and yet, packs a powerful hardware inside and most of the products that they but recently, they’ve crossed their something that they haven’t done before in the country — they released a flagship smartphone and it’s the realme X3 SuperZoom. Unlike other flagship smartphones, this one is quite unique as we got here a year old Snapdragon 855 processor but we still got here a camera setup that is capable of 60x zoom — a feat mostly found on flagship smartphones.
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Design and hardware
Similar to other realme smartphones, the realme X3 SuperZoom does have the same design DNA embedded into it. It isn’t a bad thing though as we got here a more premium build with a glass back on the smartphone which feels more premium and solid than the realme 6 Pro that we’ve reviewed before but we still got here sides made up of plastic.
The realme X3 SuperZoom might be a flagship smartphone with an amazing camera but thankfully, the smartphone isn’t that thick. The ergonomics of this smartphone is pretty good however, I felt that the realme X3 SuperZoom is a little bit slippery in the hand which is why the smartphone is best used when you use the case included in the smartphone.
Unfortunately, the realme X3 SuperZoom only packs a single USB-C port and there’s no 3.5mm audio port on this one but that’s already expected since the smartphone is a flagship one and there are only a few flagships that still have that port.
There’s no in-display fingerprint scanner on this smartphone and instead, we’re getting here a side-mounted fingerprint scanner just like the realme 6 and the realme 6 Pro. But don’t worry because it’s still fast and actually, I prefer this one as I can unlock the smartphone really fast.
The smartphone might be a flagship smartphone and it runs on the Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is really powerful despite being a last year’s flagship smartphone but unfortunately, there’s no 5G in sight on this one. It’s not really a bummer considering its price but it would’ve been a great addition if that was present on the realme X3 SuperZoom.
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Display
one of the best things about the smartphone is the 120Hz refresh rate. We’re getting here a large 6.6-inch display which is perfect for watching movies on Netflix and also some K-pop videos on YouTube but it’s also perfect for web browsing as we got here a 120Hz refresh rate. This is way better than the 90Hz refresh rate that we can find on the realme 6 and 6 Pro but unfortunately, most of the games that I’ve reviewed don’t take advantage of this refresh rate.
Nonetheless, the colors on this one are still fine and it might not be an AMOLED display but it’s definitely producing pretty good colors and it has pretty good viewing angles.
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Battery
Inside the smartphone is a Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is known to be power efficient and for its battery, there’s the 4200mAh battery and it can last up to a whole day of normal usage and with its 30W Dart Charge, you won’t have a problem with charging on the smartphone. In our PC Mark test, we got a score of 14 hours
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Software and operating system
I’m one of the true believers of the realme UI on the realme X3 SuperZoom because it’s fast, lightweight, and it’s something that I definitely love on the smartphone because it’s user friendly and I didn’t have any problems with running on this smartphone.
But do you know what’s better? It’s paired with the 120Hz refresh rate on the smartphone which makes navigating on the smartphone smoother than ever but unfortunately, not all games support that. Nonetheless, the realme UI is still good and it’s still one of my favorites out there.
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Performance
It’s the first smartphone from realme to arrive in the Philippines that comes with a Snapdragon 800 series chipset and we’re pretty happy with how the smartphone performed in our tests and in gaming. Just to give you an idea, the Snapdragon 855+ inside the smartphone is last year’s best chipset and until today, it can beat most smartphones in the mid-range level.
In our benchmarks, the realme X3 SuperZoom was really good and I didn’t had any problems running anything on the smartphone. Check out the numbers that we got on the smartphone below:
Basically, the scores that we got are a lot better than I expected and it can even beat most smartphones in its price range which basically makes the smartphone a great gaming smartphone too. Speaking about gaming, let’s check out the smartphone’s gaming performance:
Despite being a last year’s flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 855+ dominates the gaming segment without any problems or lags at all. The realme X3 SuperZoom also showed that the smartphone can beat most smartphones in its price range which makes the smartphone a pretty good gaming smartphone too.
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Camera
Aside from the stellar performance that we saw earlier, the realme X3 SuperZoom also got here a pretty good camera. It’s not the best camera that we’ve seen on a flagship smartphone but it can definitely compete against most smartphones in the flagship level. We’re getting here a 64MP main camera along with 8MP periscope camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, we got here a 32MP selfie camera paired with 8MP ultra wide-angle camera.
The camera of the smartphone is jampacked as the realme X3 Superzoom can handle up to 60x zoom on the smartphone which is one of the best in the market right now and probably the best one in its price range. That’s not all! It also supports 4K/60fps recording as expected thanks to the chipset of the smartphone and it. Curious about how this one performs? Check out our sample shots of the smartphone below:

As you can see in our shots, the realme X3 SuperZoom performed really well. The shots that we took offers really great details and the colors were really good on this one. The zoomed shots were also good too and I’m really happy with the camera of the smartphone.
Realme X3 SuperZoom Review: Verdict
The realme X3 SuperZoom is another jackpot for the company. We’re getting here a really good camera, powerful hardware, a premium build quality, and a price that won’t break the bank. It ticks all the boxes that you need on a flagship smartphone. But of course, it’s still not a perfect smartphone because we’re missing 5G on this smartphone and the chipset inside it is not new but it is still powerful AF.
The realme X3 SuperZoom is now available for Php24,990
