Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Review: The perfect smartphone

Samsung has recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, and it’s the best smartphone right now. With this smartphone, it has polished everything that we need on the smartphone whether that’s the design, hardware inside, and the camera of the smartphone.

Design

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a large 6.8-inch display with a QHD+ resolution and really bright display. Compared to the previous generation, this one is flatter and has less curves which is perfect for the S-Pen. The blockier design also made the device more comfortable to hold than its predecessor. The front and back of the phone is made of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which provides excellent protection against scratches and drops. The camera bump on the back is also less pronounced and more minimal just like the predecessor making it look sexier and more emphasized.

One of the design features that stands out on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is build quality. It might look like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra but once you hold it, you’ll know that former feels more solid and better than the predecessor. This slight design change might be small but it does have a big impact once you hold your smartphone for everyday usage.

The smartphone still features a USB-C port below along with the speaker grill and boy, I do love the audio quality of the smartphone. As for the charging, the smartphone does support 45W charging speeds which isn’t the fastest in the premium flagship range but it would do.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a stunning 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which provides rich and vibrant colors with excellent contrast. Definitely one of the best screens out there in the market. The screen also has a high resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels, which is vivid, sharp and detailed. Additionally, the display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and playing games on the smartphone really good.

Just like before, there’s a dynamic refresh rate which saves a lot of battery on the smartphone as it adjust the refresh rate of the smartphone but my favorite about this one is the smartphone’s display is really bright. Wherever I use the smartphone and even at direct sunlight, I don’t have a single problem with it.

Lastly, writing on the flatter display of the smartphone with slight curved edges with the S-Pen is a massive improvement over the previous generation. The bezel of the smartphone might be more visible but the less curves on the display makes it more worth it.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with a 5000mAh battery which is a decent amount. Surprisingly, the smartphone can last a full day of usage and is even better than I expected. In my usage, I was able to use a whole day of usage on heavy usage and even up to two days on average use which is amazing on a flagship smartphone. In PC Mark Work 2.0 Battery test, we got a score of 13 hours and 52 minutes which is amazing

This is thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor of the smartphone and also the optimization that Samsung has done with the smartphone. Again, the smartphone does support 45W so charging is faster compared to most Samsung smartphones out there

Software and Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra runs on the latest version One UI and just like before, it’s swift, user-friendly and everything that you need on the features of the smartphone is here. My favorite one is Samsung DeX as I always plug my Nreal Air AR headset and use the smartphone in desktop mode for working.

As for performance, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is top-notch. I’m glad that there’s no Exynos version of the smartphone because the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is just excellent. Whether we’re talking about the thermals or the performance, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra performs really well.

When it comes to benchmarks, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was really being extra as we got here really high scores on the smartphone and of course, gaming wasn’t a problem on this one as everything ran really well.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of the latest flagship smartphones in that market right now that comes with an exceptional camera. The phone comes equipped with a quad-camera setup that includes a 200MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, a 10MP periscope zoom lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera.

The main camera of the smartphone is breaking barriers as this one has the BEST camera that I’ve seen on a smartphone. Whether we’re talking about the photo or the video of the smartphone, everything was excellent on the smartphone.

The lowlight shots got the biggest improvement on the smartphone. It was faster to shoot and even at really dark conditions, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was capable of shooting really bright and accurate colors on the smartphone.

The selfie shots on the smartphone were special as well as we got here sharp, detailed and the right skin tones. This is the best selfie camera that we’ve seen on an Android smartphone.

Verdict

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the perfect smartphone. It features a great display, a solid build, an excellent processor, and a camera that can blow away the competition. It’s really hard to find something bad about smartphone. The hardware is perfect in every way.

Yes, it’s expensive but that’s what we can expect on a top-end Galaxy S smartphone. But whether you’re looking for a smartphone made for photography, gaming, a powerhouse, or for work, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the perfect smartphone for you. Peugeot Philippines expands their lineup with EV and more affordable models

PEUGEOT, the fastest-growing auto brand in the Philippines, is expanding their model rang at 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), PEUGEOT Philippines has introduced new model variants for the 3008 SUV and 5008 SUV and they’ve also showcased the electrified e-2008 SUV at MIAS 2023.

Peugeot Philippines has announced that PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008 SUVs will now be available in two variants: Active and Allure. The Allure remains the top-grade variant, while the Active offers comparable performance from the 1.6-liter Twin Scroll Turbo High Pressure (THP) engine, but with different design elements and amenities at a more accessible price point. The Peugeot 3008 Active SUV is priced at PHP 2,090,000, and the Peugeot 5008 Active SUV at PHP 2,275,000. Both Allure and Active variants will be on display at MIAS, with test drives available for the 2008, 3008, and 5008 SUVs.

The Active variants will offer less features including the lack of automatic front door lightning, ambient lighting, a smaller touchscreen display, lack of sunroof, wireless charging padd, BSM, and Lane Keep Assist.

Peugeot is offering additional discounts on top of current promotional offers for all vehicle reservations made at MIAS or any PEUGEOT dealership nationwide. Low-interest financing plans are also available in partnership with Security Bank. New vehicles will come with one-year free emergency roadside assistance from Ibero Asistencia, a global roadside assistance service provider.

Peugeot is also showcasing the electrified E-2008 at MIAS, offering a glimpse into the brand’s upcoming electrification initiative with the introduction of new models and technologies.

Xiaomi launches the Redmi Note 12 series in the Philippines

Xiaomi Philippines has just launched its successor to the truly popular Redmi Note series in the country.

The Redmi Note 12 comes in 4 variants — Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Different smartphones with different specs for different audiences.

Redmi Note 12

The Redmi Note 12 comes in two variants — the Redmi Note 12 4G and the Redmi Note 12 5G. The Redmi Note 12 4G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor along with an up to 8GB of RAM and also up to 128GB of internal storage. The display comes with 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate.

As for the camera, the smartphone comes with 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP macro camera while for the selfie camera, the smartphone comes with 13MP front-facing camera.

The Redmi Note 12 comes with 33W charging and 5000mAh battery.

Redmi Note 12 5G

While the Redmi Note 12 5G comes with a slightly different camera layout at the back of the smartphone. The 5G variant of the Redmi Note 12 comes with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor inside. For the display, there’s the 6.67-inch AMOLED display as well with 120Hz refresh rate.

For the RAM, it goes up to 8GB of RAM with up to 256GB of internal storage. The camera of the smartphone is a 48MP main camera along with 8MP ultra-wide camera and also a 2MP macro camera. The front-facing camera of the smartphone is a 13MP selfie camera.

The battery of the smartphone is a 5000mAh battery along with 33W of fast-charging similar to the 4G version of the smartphone.

The Redmi Note 12 5G will arrive soon in the Philippines via carriers

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G

If you want something more powerful, you can go for the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. This one has a more powerful inside ranging from the processor up to the camera of the smartphone.

First, the smartphone comes with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. For the processor, this one comes with a more powerful Dimensity 1080 processor from Media Tek along with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

For the camera, the Remdi Note 12 Pro 5G comes with 50MP main camera with IMX 766 sensor and also an 8MP ultra-wide camera and also a 2MP macro camera. For the selfie camera, the smartphone comes with 16MP front-facing camera.

This smartphone comes with a more powerful 200MP main camera inside with a Samsung HPX sensor inside. But for the processor, the smartphone still comes with the same Mediatek Dimensity 1080 processor and up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The main camera of the smartphone is a 200MP main camera paired with 8MP Ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera. For the selfie camera, the smartphone comes with a 16MP front-facing camera.

The charging is way faster as well as the smartphone comes with 120W HyperCharge and also a 5000mAh battery inside.

As the first device that I hold in the morning, my daily routine starts with the vivo V27 5G. Opening different apps in the morning won’t be a problem as the 20GB Dynamic RAM of the smartphone is capable of handling different apps at the same time and since we have a 256GB memory inside, I won’t have any problems downloading and installing different apps and files that I need for the day.

Lastly, the 6.78” Full HD+ AMOLED display of the smartphone means that you have a larger screen for your documents and media files. The display’s large size gives you a more comfortable and more functional usage.

Capable of playing the latest games

The vivo V27 5G is not just a productivity and content creation device but this one is also a great partner when taking a break. The 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor of the smartphone is capable of playing the latest games including Genshin Impact and also Ragnarok Origin, the latest MMORPG in town.

Since the smartphone packs a 256GB of internal storage, I was able to install multiple games on the smartphones and even download some of the ROM that I love to play on emulators on the smartphone. I’ve also played Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, and Call of Duty Mobile on the smartphone and it was smooth and playable on the smartphone.

There are also features that I love on the smartphone including Game Boost Mode and 4D vibration and they improve the performance and also brings a more immersive experience on the smartphone.

All-day battery

The vivo V27 5G comes with a 4600mAh battery inside and it’s more than enough for everyday usage. The smartphone was able to get 17 hours and 19 minutes in PC Mark Work 2.0 battery test which is pretty long for the hardware we have on the smartphone.

There’s a 66W Charging as well which gives me up to 50% charge in just less than 20 minutes on the smartphone. So the battery and charging was really fast and didn’t really interrupt my day.

Verdict

The vivo V27 5G has everything you need in a smartphone, making it perfect for content creation and everyday use. The vivo V27 5G and V27e series offer a range of options for different budgets. So if you want an all around smartphone then you might want to consider the vivo V27 5G.

Here’s what the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ might look like

Looks like we got a first look at the next generation of the Samsung Galaxy Tab with the leaked render of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ thanks to @OneLeaks in partnership with @WolfOfTablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is expected to come with 12.4″ display with a resolution of 1752×2800 and it will come with a quad-speaker which makes it great for media consumption.

Just like before, it will come with a magnetic attachment for the S-Pen at the back and it will come an upgraded SoC which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. There’s 45W charging as well but this time, the camera style looks like the Galaxy S23 which is becoming the identity of Samsung devices.
