HONOR Magic4 Pro Hands-on and First Impressions

One of the first devices from HONOR to arrive in the country is the HONOR Magic4 Pro. The newest smartphone from the company is their flagship smartphone as it packs the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor inside and of course, the powerful 50MP main camera on the smartphone.

The HONOR Magic4 Pro comes with a very premium and comfortable design just like most flagship smartphones but the root and its design DNA does feel like a Huawei smartphone. The build quality is premium and it’s very comfortable to hold thanks to the curves on the body of the smartphone.

Below is where you can find the USB-C port of the smartphone and of course, the speaker grill and also the card tray slot. The smartphone also features a glass back that looks and feels premium and again.

The camera module on this one reminds us of the Mate 40 Pro with its large circle in the back with a powerful camera. But honestly, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro does have a better look when it comes to the rear camera.

Going back to the USB-C of the smartphone, it comes with support for up to 100W Fast Charging as long as you use it. The included USB-A to USB-C cable and also the charging brick. It’s not the fastest that we’ve seen but definitely appreciate that we have here really fast charging speeds.

As for the display of the smartphone, it comes with a 6.81-inch display with a 1312×2848 resolution which is weird but it does give off beautiful and crisp colors and display and the display is large enough whether you want to use it for gaming or for watching movies. There’s the dynamic refresh rate as well for gaming which gives you smooth animation and movement but also saves you more battery

There’s the curve display on here as well but it has never been an issue with me when it comes to accidental touches and it has never been an issue with me when it comes to playing games but I believe some people might find the curved edges annoying especially for games that require touch inputs on the sides. The smartphone’s display also comes with a pill-shaped hole for the selfie camera. It’s not that big and it does look fine for me.

For the power of the smartphone, it does come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor inside along with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes with 5G inside thanks to its 5G SoC.I never find it lacking and the performance of the smartphone is really good. We were able to play different games including Genshin Impact and also APEX Legends Mobile smoothly on the smartphone. As for the benchmarks, we were pretty happy with the results that we got.

When it comes to the camera, we did have a limited time with the smartphone but we were able to play with its camera for a little while and we did get amazing camera shots on the smartphone. Most of them got the right colors and I’ve been using it as well to cover events. The 50MP main camera did really well when it comes to the cameras. Check out the shots that we took using the smartphone:

Verdict

Overall, the HONOR Magic4 Pro is one of the flagship smartphones out there that you should watch out for. It has a powerful camera, decent power inside and of course, a design that we surely love. Its Huawei roots is still prevalent on the smartphone but nonetheless, we still love it.
