Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Unveiled

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is the newest midrange chipset of the company, and it aims to replace the Snapdragon 778G which is one of my favorite midrange chipsets in the market right now.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will come with an up to 2.4GHz Kryo CPU along with Adreno 662 GPU. Qualcomm promises that this new chip will have 20% faster performance in graphics and AI is 305 better. The new chip can also handle up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.

For the 5G modem, it comes with Snapdragon X62 5G modem inside with support for dual standby 5G on SA and NSA. WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are also on board.

The first Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 smartphones are expected soon with the OPPO Reno8 Pro to be the first one in the market.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is the company’s newest flagship mobile processor

Qualcomm has just announced the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. As expected, it brings more improvements from the previous generation including better performance and of course, better efficiency with its new clock speeds and this time, the fabs are now processed in TSMC rather than Samsung but still belongs in the 4nm process.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 brought 10% faster performance with its up to 3.2GHz peak CPU speeds and 10% faster GPU clock speeds but despite that, Qualcomm managed to reduce the power usage by 30% and the AI engine has improve by up to 20%. Qualcomm has also mentioned that the overall power efficiency on the SOC has improved by 15%.

Qualcomm promises that the devices with this processor will be available this Q3 2022 including products from ASUS ROG, Black Shark, HONOR, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Red Magic, Redmi, vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE. I’m expecting that Samsung will also have these chips for their next foldable devices.

Xiaomi 12 Pro First Impressions

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is the latest flagship smartphone from the company and it’s a powerful one not just in terms of the processor inside but also because of the camera that we have on the smartphone. It packs a lot of surprises for the consumers as this one is definitely the best smartphone that Xiaomi has ever released. 

First, let’s talk about the design of the smartphone. It’s the most premium Xiaomi smartphone that we’ve ever reviewed as this one packs a premium build quality including a frosted glass finish on the smartphone which not only features a premium and elegant feel but it also lessens the fingerprint on the smartphone. But of course, it’s still slippery so I highly suggest that you use the included case from the box of the smartphone. Nonetheless, it has the best material and build that we’ve ever seen on a Xiaomi smartphone. So overall, the ergonomics of the smartphone is pretty great

At the back of the smartphone, we can see in here the camera module that houses the triple lens camera of the smartphone and honestly, I find the design of the back of the smartphone cleaner than most smartphones in the market right now and the protruding camera module with a large camera lens doesn’t really annoy me.

On the right of the smartphone is where you can find the power button and also the volume rocker of the smartphone and below there’s the USB-C port that supports up to 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge which can charge smartphone in just up to 24 minutes while wireless charging is up to 50W which is again, really fast.

As for the display, it packs a gorgeous 6.73-inch AMOLED WQHD+ Display with a 120Hz refresh rate and in our usage, we did love everything that this smartphone has to offer when it comes to the display. It’s beautiful, colorful, and it’s very bright when I’m using it outside. The display is also responsive when it comes to gaming.

Speaking of gaming, we did love the performance that we got on the smartphone. Everything was smooth and they did a really good job in handling the thermals of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor which is known to be really hot in most cases especially in gaming.

The camera of the smartphone is promising as well as we got here a 50MP main camera along with 50MP ultra-wide angle camera and 50MP telephoto camera. Overall, the camera of the smartphone in our initial shots performed really well and I was happy with both the rear camera and front camera of the smartphone.

Overall, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is an amazing smartphone. Whether we’re talking about a smartphone that you can use everyday or you can use for work then this won’t be a problem. The performance of the smartphone is amazing as well and our initial shots that we got on the smartphone

Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 Quick Review

The Infinix Note 10 Pro is one of my favorite smartphones from the company last year. It features a pretty good design and the hardware is decent enough for its price and this year, they’ve refreshed the smartphone but this time, it now features a more powerful hardware inside. 

 Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 Review: Hardware

For the design of the smartphone, it’s the same actually and just like in our review of the smartphone before, we did like the design of this one and we still think that this is the best looking Infinix smartphone out there in the market.

It features a glossy back and the half of it features some lines. It’s sleek looking and it’s really pretty to the eyes but again, it does attract a lot of fingerprints so I really suggest that you use a case with this smartphone.

Of course, the smartphone is ergonomic and it features a protruding camera at the back that houses the quad camera setup of the smartphone. It isn’t the most premium material or feel that we’ve seen on the smartphone but I’m satisfied with the design of the smartphone.

Below there’s the USB-C port that supports 33W charging which is fast enough for its range and then there’s the 5000mAh battery also which is just the right battery for its size. In our PC Mark Work 2.0 Battery Life test, we got a score of 11 hours and 25 minutes. Just an average score for the smartphone of its size and just a minute difference from our previous review.

 

For the display of the Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022, it’s pretty large as we got here a 6.95-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate but unfortunately, it’s still an IPS so you can’t take advantage of the panel when you’re playing games or some selected apps. Nonetheless, it’s still smoother when you’re navigating apps on the menu and the colors are fine and the brightness is decent enough to be used outside.

Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 Review: Performance

One of the upgrades that they did for the Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 is the processor. They upgraded the processor of the smartphone to MediaTek Helio G95 from G90T and then there’s the larger 256GB storage. I actually appreciate that they’ve now included a larger storage on this one and of course, that tiny processor upgrade is also welcome here. 

However in our benchmarks, the scores are really close and the difference in the numbers are really slim. The new processor inside it might not be a big leap when it comes to performance but the larger memory of the smartphone is something that you’ll really notice.

As for the software, it’s still running on XOS 7.6 based on Android 11 and I notice that the smartphone does have a lot of bloatwares and too many customizations. It’s not the best UI experience that we’ve seen but it will do for its price.

Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 Review: Camera

For the camera of the smartphone, it features a 64MP main camera along with 8MP ultrawide and another two 2MP rear cameras while for the front camera, there’s the 16MP front-facing camera and there’s a single LED Flash for better selfies at night.

The camera of the smartphone is pretty much the same. It can capture the details at decent lighting conditions but I find the colors of the smartphone a hit and miss at night as expected. Nonetheless, it’s still brighter than I expected. Check out some of the shots that I took using the smartphone.

The Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 is a smartphone for those people who are looking for a device that they can use for everyday usage. Its processing power have been upgraded but it might not be the most powerful in its price range but it can do most of the job that you need and the memory is something that you can really appreciate as you can install a lot of apps and games with its large 256GB storage.
