AMD launched their latest Ryzen 5000 Mobile series early this year at CES 2021 and the first one we got is from our AMD friends which is the ASUS ZenBook 13 that is powered by the Ryzen 5000 U-Series “Cezanne” mobile processor which is the AMD Zen 3 CPU cores. All that power on a 13.3-inch ultraportable laptop rocking a vivid 1080p OLED 16:9 widescreen panel.

This specific model should be hitting the stores by next month though pricing is not yet available, the Intel 11th Generation has already stores. The Ryzen variants start from the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U and go up until the Ryzen 7 5800U. We have the latter today.

Ports

When it comes to ports, the UM325S brings a microSD card reader with a single USB-A connector on the right-hand side. This is specifically useful for content creators on the go. Giving them access to a card reader to conveniently transfer files with ease. Here, the dual-band WiFi 6 (802.11ax) with Bluetooth 5.0 support is available as well.

While on the left-hand side, we find a pair of USB Type-C 3.2 Gen2 ports and an HDMI 2.1 header. The USB Type-C also functions as the charging port. With the 67-Whr lithium polymer battery present in the laptop, it lasts up to 16 hours and has a fast charge capability that gives juice of up to 60% in under 49 minutes with any PD-compatible charger. The speed test on the USB Type-C ports also confirmed its 10Gbps transfer speed with CrystalDiskMark showing sequential reads reaching 1011 MB/s while write speeds went as high as 920 MB/s sequential writes.

We feel as though one thing lacking is a 3.5mm headphone jack though ASUS has conveniently added a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter with the bundle this still lessens port availability.

ASUS Zenbook 13 UM325S Build

The build of the ZenBook 13 is rigid for a 0.55″ thin device thanks to its MIL-STD 810H rating. Though the finish is a fingerprint magnet, it might be something that would trigger OCD for cleanliness. The colour fall with the ZenBook line aesthetic giving a clean and professional look.

We ran mainstream benchmarks on the ASUS ZenBook 13 to see its capabilities with the Ryzen 7 5800U.

The performance given was outstanding on the ASUS ZenBook 13 with its Ryzen 7 5800U. The multi-threaded performance show on the 8-core, 16-thread processor delivered a top-notch performance. While comparing to other recently released laptops in the market using 3DMark and PCMark 10, the ASUS ZenBook 13 comes out on top.

Just a quick note that these configurations might not come the same as the local configuration as these were sent from Australia by our friends from AMD and pricing again is not yet available. We can’t wait for other Ryzen 5000 series that would come out in the market. This is just the first taste of what the new processors are capable of. Hoping that the price tag on this particular ZenBook wouldn’t be as high as usual Zenbook laptops though.

Google has introduced the Android 12 to the public and it will feature the biggest change to its UI in years and it will come with colors that are easy to the eyes. But of course, everything will still work the same but we now have a new design called Material you. So what can we expect from Android 12?

With Android 12, you can now personalize your smartphones with a custom color palette that will match your wallpaper and everything was eye candy. There are new widgets too that match the Material You design. And of course, we will have smoother and better fluid motions and animations by improving some under-the-hood changes.

There will be a redesigned system spaces too including a brand new notification shade in where the smartphone will feature bigger buttons with cleaner colors. They’ve also updated their privacy and security on the smartphone by letting you turn on and off the different hardware of the smartphone including camera and location.

There’s Private Compute Core too that enables you to have Live Caption, Now playing, and Smart Reply and all of the process that happens on the device, and it is isolated from the network.

TECNO Mobile has announced its partnership with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) to make the POVA 2 smartphone the best device to run the said famous multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game.

Apple Music is bringing Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio this June 2021

Apple has just announced that Apple Music will be getting a lot of new features including Spatial Audio and Lossless Audio to its entire catalog without additional cost.

With Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos to Apple Music, you’ll have a more immersive audio experience in where you can experience better audio on all AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 chip. But of course, you can also experience it on the built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Lossless Audio will also be available on Apple Music and you’ll be able to enjoy better audio with its 75 million songs. Apple uses ALAC or Apple Lossless Audio Codec in where it preserves every single bit of the audio file.

You can start listening to Lossless Audio by just going to settings > music > audio quality and choose Lossless audio. Apple Music’s Lossless tier starts at CD quality in where you can get it at 16 bit at 44.1 kHz and it can go up to 24 bit at 48kHz. But of course, they’ll also offer Hi-Resolution Lossless all the way up to 24 bit at 192 kHz.

5 reasons why I love playing games on the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is one of the latest mid-range smartphones of Samsung and it’s the successor of the widely successful Samsung Galaxy A51. This time, we got a lot of new features, including a brand new processor inside and 5G. But how does the smartphone fare in our gaming experience? What are the things that I love with the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G when it comes to gaming?

Reason #1: Ultrafast 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is one of the few mid-range smartphones to come with 5G connectivity. With this feature, you can get ultra-fast internet speed to download games and updates on the smartphone. But the more important thing for me with 5G is that I can get better latency when playing games. This means my smartphone can have faster and better pings than 4G and WiFi, so fewer lags and faster response times are essential to MOBA and FPS games.

Reason #2: 120Hz display is a gamechanger in gaming

One of the biggest advantages of the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G over other smartphones is that it comes with a high refresh rate with its 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display. Usually, smartphones in the midrange segment either use a 90Hz panel or an IPS panel.

The 120Hz refresh rate gives a smoother and more responsive display perfect for games like Call of Duty: Mobile. This means that every touch on the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G’s display would respond faster than other smartphones. Other games that support 120Hz include Ceres M and also Lara Croft Go. Once you play these games on the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, you will feel how smooth the display is.

In addition, with the Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, not only do you get a faster refresh rate but you also get better and more vivid colors.

Reason #3: There’s a faster processor inside made for gaming

Unlike the Samsung Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A72, the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G uses a different and more powerful processor. Inside the device is a Snapdragon 750G Octa-Core processor and it’s a big leap from its predecessor. In our benchmark with Antutu, I was able to get a score of 390,060, which is pretty great.

As for the gaming experience, I was able to run various heavy games on the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. Playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on the smartphone was fun, smooth, and lag-free. I also ran Mobile Legends with High graphics and with HFR mode on and everything was seamless and smooth.

I was able to play Call of Duty Mobile too, with high graphic settings and max frame rates. The gameplay was smooth even after 2 games of Battle Royale. There were no frame drops when while playing the game and the touchscreen was responsive which is why I can shoot faster and more accurately.

Genshin Impact is one of the most demanding smartphone games out there in the market and playing the game on the smartphone was fine. I’ve set the game to the lowest graphics settings with a maximum of 60 fps. I’ve noticed the frame rates were fluctuating but I was surprised that the game played out smooth most of the time.

I was actually surprised that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G chip inside this smartphone is really good in terms of gaming.

Reason #4: Long-lasting battery

One of the great things about the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is its large 4500mAh battery. It is large enough to play games for hours.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G combines the efficiency of the Snapdragon 750G 5G processor and the optimization of the One UI which gives an all-day battery experience. The smartphone also comes with a 25W Super Fast Charging in case it runs out of battery after a day of gaming.

Reason #5: Large memory for more games

These days, mobile games are getting bigger due to the capabilities of the smartphone. But I didn’t have a problem with the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G since it comes with 256GB of internal storage. It means that even if I install a lot of games on the smartphone, I would still have a lot of memory left for my games.

Overall, it’s great for gaming

The cool thing about the games that I’ve played on the smartphone is that I’ve downloaded them all via 5G. I was able to download Genshin Impact in less than 5 minutes and the latency that I was getting on PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty were great.

Aside from that, it also has a 120Hz refresh rate on the Super AMOLED display. It not only has smooth gameplay but the colors are vivid. This also makes it really easy to notice the opponents in some of the FPS games. Lastly, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G processor is a really good chip as it not only offers pretty good performance, it also has good thermals too. Laying on the smartphone for a long time won’t really be a problem.

Whether you want a smartphone that you can use for your daily media consumption or for gaming, the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G can satisfy both needs.
